Watching this over and over again and comparing it with other contestants. His phrasing and flow is just too good. It may not be that technical. But the flow and the part at 1.36 to 1.44 is just mind blowing!

as being a guitar teacher also...no doubt i will vote for him..i've listen also to leo but this guy captures my ear..he has discipline in melody and timing of his composition. he reminds me of my idol BRETT GARSED.. i even like his sound better thatn petrucci

Awesome! Great solo! It has all the typical Ibanez techniques: sweeping, sweep-tapping, whammy bar melodies and flutters Petrucci style alternate picking.. Got some Vai and Satriani style note choices.
All that and he STILL made it his own. Those techniques are hard but then to break out of them and have your own sound come through is even harder. Well done!!
That was staggeringly, mindblowingly, jawdroppingly, unbelieveably incredibly wonderful to watch and my ears are still feeling blissful! My fingers however, aren't feeling so hot right now ..
