I prefer the phrasing in this one and I really enjoy the dissonance he creates when going down the neck in those longer runs. I wish I had a better guitar vocabulary to explain what I mean xD

The winner was even better in my tiny opinion. Not necessarily on skill, they are both equals in my book - the winner simply was more melodically sweet and told a better, more cohesive story...on this particular occasion.

While I understand why 1st place won (must have been one hell of a difficult decision), the section between about 0:55 - 1:25 is by far imo the best section in the whole competition and an absolutely incrdedible piece of guitar soloing. Wow. Genuinely blew my mind how good that sounded.
Well in my opinion the winning entry dominated the whole track and sections of the solo it's like that is how it mean to be played like a song you know.
@@jhonesmidtimbang hmm I'd say the theme's of each solo were unique but the continuancy of the winning entry was certainly bang on. This entry didn't necessarily deviate from it's theme but I guess I can see why people thought the winner fit the backing track more appropriately. For me this one had the best money shot.

I know that a line/lick starts from A and finishes in B(just as an example), and then starts from A again(or from 1, finishes before one in a very linear fashion and starts again there).Very predictable. This guy's touch is innovative, and takes you by surprise. It has fire and on top of that, it feels more improvised that the winning one, which means that it has more truth to it.
To be seated next to that first place finisher is a hell of an honor considering your age. His style is cleaner, slightly more advanced, and less distortion. But here's the thing. Just keep getting better and one day you'll make it. That first place guy is superb and for you to be #2 Nuff said. Incredible honor. Inspiring
The chorus melody is very Per Nilsson! And the entire piece is so fuckin intense bro, If I was a judge, I would call it a day already seriously. Energy, melody, technicality, speed & accuracy - perfect 10!
One more thing and it's very important. Be Encouraged. You have rare qualities within your playing that legends have had and still have. The kind of qualities I look for in a fav guitarist. Now I Too Am Also Encouraged Because Our Styles Are Super Similar When I have the opportunity to play everyday. Stay humble kid. You'll get there Son, it's only a matter of time.

Actually, Joe is a composer. There is never a wasted note with him, and he composes full structured pieces of music. Obviously, Joe is a big influence on this guy, and Joe's still performing at a very high level.

This solo could of easily took first place. Honestly, it was a tough call.. Judges could of been looking for something different. I've been at this shit since I was 12-13 years old playing guitar, friend musicians at highest level. Kid named Scott with similar talent as yours. Could play anything you asked him too. Irregardless still one of the best solos I've ever seen/heard, especially coming from one so young. You're as good as dude, you're just you get lol I'm out. Peace lil Brother!!
