Manju Sethia I made four layer choc cake and it was really tasty but my question is cake gets lill hard inside although I used sugar syrup generously ... may be butter can be replaced with oil? Or what other truck we can use... fyip it was eggless cakes

Sometimes I use a round one, sometimes heart-shaped tin. But the baking time depends on the level of the batter. Usually it takes around 30 to 40 minutes for perfect baking.

I have make half quantity receipe and bake at 160 for 18 mins and no break on top. Next time I will try cupcakes and keep on top rack as suggested by you. This time I was afraid so make in tin. Following your measurements, Triedout twice in the last 1 week and it came out really well for my first time ever Round 1, i added water after beating so the fluffy middle portion collapsed at the end.... texture was still good Round 2, to reduce sweeyness, i reduced quantity of condensed milk, there was no issue with fluffiness this time, texture was very spongy but cake is breaking into pieces Will try again later this week and let you know the outcome Thanks anyway for the clear instructions and ingrediant listing and nice videos

I tried to substitute yoghurt for condensed milk and apparently is not the same.. maybe put 120g of yoghurt and 150ml of milk? I'm not sure but it should be fine

I like all the innovative things that you’ve given me and have every intention of following them when I try out your recipe, i specially appreciate the fact that I have to sift the ingredients, which I haven’t been doing in all this time and kept wondering why my cakes didn’t turn out the way they did for the people who made these cakes, cookies, and now I know the reason why, because I’ve always avoided sifting the ingredients, just adding them as they were. that will change from the next time, but thank you for showing me the correct way
Good recipe. With one caveat. I don’t what oven you have but in mine 30 minutes at 180 Celsius burns the bottom to a crisp. I would stop at 10 minutes and turn down the heat to 150 for another 10 minutes and that’s it. But as I said, great recipe and I am amazed at the egg-less part too. There was no applesauce substitute.
Actually I had just the bottom heat on. The top came out quite well. It was the bottom that got burnt. Perhaps the ovens are just different. However, I was using gluten free flour as my son is gluten intolerant. Next time I will mix some Pysillium with the gluten free flour to keep the cake together as it otherwise crumbles easily.

I love it! I cut the middle and I put some icing in it and then put the top back on, I also added icing on the top of the second half with some strawberries and more, thank you for the recipe! This is easy since we're in lockdown and I cannot get anything.

I only keep the bottom rod on
