I’m not sure how many know about this, but if you game-over somewhere and want to go back, go collect the star in the dark tunnel behind the castle and it will put you back where you would come out of the last area you were in. Just be sure to go straight there after the game-over and be careful not to touch the invisible warp in front of the star.
is it also works when you die, if you die in a level and don’t want to walk all the way back, you can just go outside the moat walls when it’s night or take fall damage when it’s day
Note: the death doors in Plexal Lobby are located right next to a Vanish Cap block, which allows you to perform a music glitch. Getting the Vanish Cap and entering a death door will respawn you as normal Mario, but with the Vanish Cap music still playing. If you wait until Mario starts flickering back to normal and enter the door just as the music fades out, you can turn off the music altogether

as a person who beat eternal fort in 0.9 and i have 0 lives and then i got freaking spewed back to that red ass lobby, yeah this might be useful (i was midly upset)

That last method with the negative coins was actually the only one I knew before watching this. I assumed the other ways would just game over.
