I actually always play with Luigi, in case there are some secrets only accessible as Luigi. I think I did encounter one too (but I haven't the slightest clue how I did it). There was a warp in some part of the game that made me switch back to Mario. No idea how or why, but it happened in v0.9
What I appreciate the most about your B3313 videos is that you clearly have a very deep knowledge of the game compared to most people. I feel like I'm on a Guided Tour in a foreign world and you're able to keep the videos grounded with your commentary. Makes me feel more comfortable attempting to explore this game myself. I hope you achieve this level of mastery in whatever you pursue in the future.
Oh I have an idea for a video. Maybe show some of the more unsettling areas or sequences there are in the game. I'm not primarily talking about jumpscares, more so about the places that feel off to be in, for example the Unsettling Maze or Escape Route
i love the areas that are empty and quiet, entering enhancer creation was one of the things that creeped me out the most playing b3313 1.0 blind; gives off a vibe like it has some greater purpose that the player is oblivious to. those are the areas that most convey what you’re seeing was not made by a human being (at least not within the canon)
the submarine level still haunts my dream but hey it is what it is also some fun facts: - 15:35 strawberry upstairs was going to have few level paintings but the painting slots was running out in that point of development and some levels had to be relocated to another area - 13:45 "strawberry lobby" is actually named "aquarium lobby" (i dont blame you forgetting the name lol) and was originally going to be different but the ponds were sealed for reasons that i dont know but at least they have that space a use (also paintings but same reason as above) - 2:10 kuppa submarine was also originally going to be very different and was going to be easier to navigate by flooding/unflooding it but was changed pretty late which explains the floating red coin in mid air
@@iitsMikeBTWO if i remember correctly "aquarium lobby" was the internal name for it but i guess the area was so forgettable that not even the wiki knows the actual name sorry if i am misremembering i havent touched b3313 since forever after 0.9 and 1.0 got released
For anyone wondering. I forgot to explore the area that "can be accessed in 4th floor (beta). The area in question is Snow Tunnels/Particle Test. For me, that area didn't really hit it for me. It's like a test level trying to be scary, but it just feels... empty and dull.
My least favorite stages: Anything that involves horror(mostly waste of blood and conspiracy references) stuff like the fountain if truth which kinda you know.
I remember when I played 0.9, it was pretty annoying to run into the fountain of truth (and his domain) 5 different times, but I don't think the area is bad.
Aww, what a shame. I have been enjoying these videos. Looking forward to the Trolls one, though. I'm guessing the troll we saw in this video was getting launched out of that one Boo painting and into a black pit that leads you to that Forest maze of doors? 😋
Huh... wasn't even aware there was an Eel graveyard variant. I'm just wondering what was the point of this one, it's like the ssme but without the details that made the original area do fascinating in the first place. You'd think they would try to do something else with the concept if anything, but no it's just the same thing but worse.
My least favorite areas would probably be the fountain of truth and fun house (not sure if thats the actual name). The first is just a cliche creepy “beloved character was dead all along. childhood ruined” type scare with an unnecessary forced crash, and the second is just an annoying glob of textures with one impossible to find door, not that good for blind players. Can’t think of any more big dislikes off of the top of my head.
I didn't want to include the fun house for two reasons. Firstly I kinda like it as well as the history behind it (it's one of the first versions of the castle), and secondly, the same reason as me not visiting the beta versions of the 3rd and 4th floor, it is meant to be "primitive" looking, because it's essentially an alpha iteration of the castle.
@@iitsMikeBTWOthank you for this its a good response, i like your videos alot and after b3313 i'd love to see some more niche content on here at some point
I hate Floating Hotel (0.9) with a burning passion. I do not have any of the Greenio references in my 10 worst areas and levels. The most forgettable stage for me is that Whomp's Fortress variant where you collect 8 red coins and I don't think that stage has another star. Particle test should be included in the trolls, because it is RNG and it messes up my speedrunning route. No man's lands is a WasteOfBlood reference, but I think it was renamed to Chroma Tundra beta. Why can't you open the doors underwater using metal cap? That's so stupid! Dream 64 reference worst area boo!(jk).
I actually planned on including the snow tunnels in this video, despite it being one of the 4th floor (beta) stages, since you can get to it three different ways, but I simply forgot to do it. I like floating hotel due to the music and the aesthetics, and I find it to be quite a memorable area. I'm also happy that Chris gave it a little glowup with the green star included.
That circuit board level is absolutely heinous, the camera is a little wonky which is hard to make those unforgiving jumps I really hope there’s no third star at the top
when i saw the "areas that just exist" in the title I knew you were going to talk about strawberry lobby (unless you forgot about it of course) also the title makes no sense it's not even red
Do you know what has to be done to collect the star or progress in the hazy maze cave level that tells you to turn it off or it'll kill you in a couple of seconds. I never really got how to do that one
The fire monster will only chase you when the game is at night, where the music will change to the boo mansion song in the basement, that's where the fire face comes out to chase you.
@@iitsMikeBTWO That isn't always true. I streamed the game a few days ago and it was right at the door. As soon as I entered the door to the area with the LLL painting and the fake star, it touched me before the door animation ended and my game crashed.
Hmm, interesting. It might be because of my movement that I get to the door before it can around the wall. Either way, I know that there is a very low chance as well that the fire monster doesn't spawn at all.
@@iitsMikeBTWO I do believe my movement then was a bit slow, so that could explain it. What's more terrifying to me is entering there with vanilla music, but it's still night so the fire comes around the corner when I go to enter a stage LOL I also remember a friend trying to juke it and scaring himself thinking he was safe. Vanilla Basement is funny. As for not spawning, I wonder if that's because it's just stuck inside of the wall permanently? I managed to get that to happen once. I'm curious if the insta-crash I had is the "intended behavior" and it getting stuck is unintended. Very glitchy enemy.
Ok, here I am again. Unfortunately, I won't be able to upload this without commentary, as my commentary and the in-game sounds are recorded through the same audio track, but you've given me a good idea to use a separate audio track when recording these videos, in case some people just want to see a guy like me exploring the plexus.
