Sadly this fight was not fair, even if jack “killed” the warframe, they’d simply revive because you’d have to kill the operator, who is most likely in orbit on a ship somewhere near the planet.
You can say the same thing about Giorno vs Joker, since Joker had to technically fight Giorno in his mind space, he didn't really kill Giorno. So in this battle it still technically would count as a win if Raiden did kill Excalibur.
Also, the operator is kind of immortal but also not because of weird void bullshit. Even stripping away revives and other biases warframes in lore are obscenely strong, warframes in game are insanely strong. And in both cases have arsenals that match or completely outclass Raidens. Its honestly a bit of a janky death battle because the lore is so convoluted and layered but the result is actually pretty fair and solid. Raiden can cut through giant mechs but excal has lightsaber that you cant just cut through, and reactions fast enough to block bullets. Theyd probably go at it for a long time no doubt, but warframes also have personal shields, and other survival features and potential builds to restore health Ultimately this battle comes down to attrition, and thats not a battle warframes lose. Even without using weapons that have infinite ammo (of which there are a few in warframe)
Something else to put into perspective is Raiden's cutting feats. Nanomachine skin that is more durable than Carbon Nanotubes is absolutely dwarfed by Warframe infested steelflesh that is capable of withstanding the centre of the sun and it's not even a protective layer, it encompasses the WHOLE body. Not only that, they have a regenerative tissue so effective and fast that during a canon questline, the warframe suffered an impalement that turned into huge cleaving wound from the shoulder to abdomen made by a weapon that was specifically designed to damage tenno and the wound was perfectly healed within seconds. Raiden's strongest slash would cause a tiny cut at best and would immediately be healed over within seconds not including just immediately bouncing off the warframe's shields.
You should check out the boss fight cutscene between Armstrong and Raiden. Its one of the most amazing moments in that game, and it also predicted America's future. Even the speech he gives in the end also predicted America's future too.
Kojima is good at that. Remember when he did a whole game about combating internet misinformation and then got labeled as Abe's assassin by a French magazine?
The reason this episode was treatrd different with it being "After Hours" is because this wasn't a planned match up, this was one directly asked for by their sponser and reffered to as a bonus episode.
...so did the sponsor ask for warframe to be put against Raiden specifically? Or just to be in a death battle? Lol was it stated? Becuz I idk why its funny to me that they had Raiden in mind 😂
Yuuuuus! Y'all are my favorite reactors and now you've reacted to my favorite death battle with my favorite characters. ... Huh, that's a lot of favs haha.
Just out of curiosity are there any more plans to react to more Warframe content? Lore perhaps while the video from Byf is ok its definitely not the best since its severely outdated
Hey since ya’ll have been watching Death Battle lately , you both gotta see their newest episode Bowser vs Eggman. And I’m not gonna lie, it is straight up PEAK!
I've been waiting for you guys to react to this one for years. This is easily one of my favorite death battles. Edit (If raiden had to face baruuk who can vibrate his body at light speed to elude all attacks and each attack he evades dodges empowers his serene storm which would decimate Raiden ) y'all watched warframe videos and still said raiden would win
For the record, Johnny Cage only fought Captain Falcon because Warner Bros. called the crew to include one of their characters in the show. They may not have sponsored the episode, but it's likely the WB paid to have Johnny in there, and he still lost. And before they went indie, one of the characters from a show that was from the same company as them lost their fight too, so...
Yeah I remember Ben saying that they only do sponsored battles if the owning company will let their character lose if it comes to it. I think he said that they declined one because the owner wouldn't permit that possibility.
Unfortunately for Raiden, this was a double L for him as the MGR series is not canon to the official Metal Gear timeline. Which means that Raiden should've lost even more than he did here.
When's the reaction for Ghostface in Mortal Kombat 1? Dude's probably the closest we'll ever get to Jack The Ripper in an MK game. "This is bullshit, He's a dude with a knife"
I've played Warframe since 2017 so I already knew how this would go, but they forget the most important parts of a Warframe arsenal. The Mods, which bolsters each Warframe's and weapons damage capabilities. A min maxed build would 1 or 2 shot Raiden. Not to mention the operator's Focus school and corresponding abilities. The various arcanes that boosts weapon speed and damage. Honestly if they really crunched the numbers it would be over an hour long talking about the Warframe side of the argument.
The joke of this death battle is raiden had it lucky he only faced an mr 1 excalibur, he never fought excalibur at mr 30 or LR 4 especially excalibur unbra, the warframes have almost unchecked power, doing millions of damage, and even billions of damage, and can take on beasts on universal scale
Come on, they couldn't have know that there was more analysis coming up. Usually the battle comes right after the second combatant's rundown with nothing else big in-between. I know this episode doesn't quite work like the norm, but...
I'm pretty sure not even Thanos could defeat a Tenno. I'm not sure what can. At the end of the day, the mechanic to which a Tenno's immortality is connected is, much like the player character in Undertale, if you're still logged in, you get to try again. The multiversal paradox that is a Tenno may be so strong as to make it immune to temporal and spatial manipulation; not that a Tenno can't be killed, just that they simply can't be killed permanently, until they literally stop 'playing the game.' Consequently, every Warframe (i.e. every Tenni) essentially shares this particular durability factor, and all have similar minimums of strengrh, access to the same arsenal, and the same feats of mobility (some even better than an Excalibur can pull off.) There isn't actually any Warframe Raiden could defeat, though Excalibur is obviously the most thematic.
On the list of magic samurai ninjas, Warframes are more on the level of Vergil vs Sephiroth than Raiden. Like, A Jedi or Sith would be a more even fight than Metal Gear. I just wish they had a new character to introduce along with Warframe rather than an obvious loser for the fight, then they'd add in stuff like Helminth abilities or Riven Mods to even it out more
Was this episode controversial? I think 99% of people unanimously agreed that the winner was correct. The only "controversy" persay is the fact that they lowballed the power of Warframes, not that it mattered as Excal still won anyway.
@lj_aderyn most of what I saw was people just saying it was bias cus it was a sponsored episode. Like it didn't get to Ben Vs hal controversy but it was definitely a lot more than I was expecting
@@SpenceJS87 Not really, there's no sane debate on the results of the matchup, Raiden loses, period. Death Battle even completely lowballed Excalibur and he still won. Digital Extremes didn't even choose the matchup when they paid for their advertisement, or even required that they had to win. The issue here lies solely with Death Battle picking a terrible matchup for Excalibur, they simply saw "Cyborg Ninja" and figured Raiden would work as a matchup when they aren't even in the same league.
This fight was just as unfar as having a pro MMA fighter fight a todler. The warframes are one frame armies, each one of them could very easily destroy an entire platoon of highly enhanced soldiers whitin seconds depending on which frame you are using. Raiden its no slouch, but againts a warframe theres no winning in any shape or form, the frames are consdiered gods on their own universe. And just to name a few, saryn its a "geneva walking sugestion", nova can turn anything on unstable matter to make it explode, nekros can raise an army at command, or wisp can open a rift to channel the sun in to an energy blast...again just to name a few. Warframes are some of the most busted sci fi creations out there
So many Raiden fans didn't understand that a fight against a Tenno controlled Warframe is an unwinnable battle that day.
Sadly this fight was not fair, even if jack “killed” the warframe, they’d simply revive because you’d have to kill the operator, who is most likely in orbit on a ship somewhere near the planet.
Yeah that struck me as really weird during the analysis
You can say the same thing about Giorno vs Joker, since Joker had to technically fight Giorno in his mind space, he didn't really kill Giorno.

Yeah then again DB was paid by the makers of Warframe to do this episode

I think most people forget lore-wise Warframes are far more powerful than presented in game. Stuff Raiden does is pretty much what the frames can do.

Can't wait to see y'alls reaction to the new Bowser vs. Eggman Death Battle. Best. Episode. Ever.
No one’s gonna talk about how boom and viz intervene in the fight and essentially helped out raiden?
Both games do the same
Or the fact that Boomstick technically outsmarted Wiz in that moment?
Ah yes a warframe. This was one of my fav episodes, love to see ya reacting
Warframes is basically human sized EVAs from Evangelion
forgot about this one, loved the fight. Though i know nothing about wither universe. Waiting for you guys to watch the sephiroth vs virgil.
Excalibur vs Raiden = Eddie Hall vs a child
Not the hardest win to predict 😆

This was a good reaction and next do either The Boys battle royal or Bowser vs Dr Eggman.
But tbh this episode was a lotta fun.
Despite the unfairness. Even in a 1on1 a warframe with one life could destroy raiden. And i love Raiden and how badass he is. He was just outclassed
8:34 Warframes are actually made mostly out of flesh fused with metal
Their skin is metal but they’re flesh on the inside.
@@doomslayer1210 They're Helminth Swordsteel all the way through, the inside looks like flesh because why would it need to look like anything else?
I sincerely hope the next Death Battle you react to is Batman Beyond VS Spider Man 2099 I think you'll really enjoy it.
Why DID you make your bets before the analysis was done?

another one that I (exclusively, I think) asked for. thankfully, my warframe came out on top like I thought he would!
