What’s crazy about this video is that everything Max0r says is technically true. The music actually does use Mongolian Throat Singing, all the story beats he brings up are technically canon, and the game is so well designed that it doesn’t need Ray Tracing, but it made a skin for one of the weapons just to showcase the fact that the developers put it in an already well made game.
He kinda butchered the lore, he got the maykrs ok, and the dark lord, but then it strayed of a bit. Also he’s blazkowicz, not john doom. Good vid though the guys hilarious.
I didnt expect a Max0r reaction but Im happy to see it! And yes the videos are very much sensory overload and chaotic but very fun! Also I agree with you guys, sometimes we dont need grand reasons and deep analysis to like something, sometimes things can be over the top and silly, but we can still like them a whole lot!

He said it satirically but he does have a point about most big game companies shoving too many activity's and mechanics into their products. Creating A "master of none" situation, were the game becomes more of a hassle then a fun experience even if its enjoyable at times. Sometimes doing something simple, well, is better then trying to make something complex, that's just okay.
Totally agree on that. There’s too many open world games that try to cover all the bases but end up being mediocre rather than doing 1 or a few things that end up being amazing.

All of Max0rs content is the equivalent of a cocaine induced schizophrenic breakdown, and thats what makes it amazing. This man works 8-10 hours on 30-45 seconds of footage at a time. its why his videos take so long to make. This is literally his 9 to 5 and to think he spends a whole day on less than a fraction of the video is crazy. The effort is insane. I recommend his videos on Bloodborne, Metal Gear Rising Reveangance, Elden Ring, and when youre done with DMC5 he has a DMC5 incorrect summary you can watch.
Max0r’s DMC5 and Metal Gear Rising summaries are quoted throughout the gaming community a lot. And it’s almost been a year after he’s made those videos.
Max0r is the ultra alpha god of understated sarcasm. His reviews of Elden Ring, Metal gear 5 and Revengeance are simply some of the best meta content on the youtube platform, simple as.
All Max0r videos are just like this. Very fast paced and hyper over-edited, but reasonably informative (and also pretty funny). I'd definitely say it could be fun checking out some of his other stuff. I think most people know him for his Genshin video, and even though it's really outdated at this point, it's very funny. Some of his other stuff like Elden Ring and Bloodborne are also a great treat.
Max0r is a wild ride that bounces you off of every wall all the time, but that's in a good way because each rewatch gets you a new joke to pick up that you miss the snuck in jokes and the occasional wholesome/genuine input adds to it

Max0r is my exception to this because he's so fast you never have time to get a word in and packs so much into such short time there's nothing you can really add anyway. If you two want to pause or put in slow motion from time to time, it's no problem, the amount of fast memes, and jokes lines is so crazy that you can watch it several times and find someting new every time. Especially for the metal guear Rising revenge video, in that you must pause to read the jokes.

I cannot recommend Max0r's content enough, but... Try to brace yourselves going in, he goes from zero to a hundred ten seconds into every video and only comes down from that when he's winding up for something even more intense. Loved the conversation at the end, you guys have wonderfully wholesome outlooks on life. He has a bunch of Metal Gear Solid videos as well, and they all carry similarly frantic energy. Easily his most popular videos are his Ace Combat and Elden Ring videos. Glad you guys gave his content a shot, and I'm sorry we couldn't properly prepare you for the insanity he was going to bring to the table, but... To be fair, that would be impossible to prepare for.
He does have a pretty good point honestly. Most AAA games are sandbox open world games where you can do a bunch of unrelated side content that doesn't really help beyond giving the player busy work if you think about it. I kind of respect the devs for trying to just do 1 thing really well. I remember an interview with the lead designers where they were discussing the game journalist scandal mentioned in this video, Just for context, the person reviewing the game was kind of a veteran at game reviews and for some reason Polygon decided to release clips of his gameplay and it was comically bad which obviously brings up the question of, "if your job is to review games and you claim to be a gamer why does it look like your horrible at said games?" But instead of jumping on the bandwagon of mocking this "expert" they said that if someone can't figure something out in the game that's on them. If someone is complaining that Doom sucks because the sniper rifle blows and they don't get you're not supposed to sit back and snipe all day, how can we communicate to the player not to do that? They tried to fing ways they can improve leading the playe so they will naturally want to play the game in a fun way. Which I don't think they 100% succeeded on that front. I feel they over tutorial-ized it and the best way to lead a player along is to make the player feel like nobody is holding their hand but that's a very positive attitude to have as a creator.
Max0rs Videos are great but they feel the same like he explained the Lore of Doom Eternal at 7:43. Sometimes it's hard for me to understand him because of the insane amount of Input you get per second but even so the Viedes are allways funny to watch.
As a person who has put literal thousands of hours into classic Doom and a massive fan of new Doom, the lore is a TRIP. Doom Eternal is so fast paced the Flash wishes he was Doom Eternal

Watching a Max0r video is like getting MKULTRA'd but instead of telling you to kill RFK your CIA agent just keeps talking about video games

He does have a pretty good point honestly. Most AAA games are sandbox open world games where you can do a bunch of unrelated side content that doesn't really help beyond giving the player busy work if you think about it. I kind of respect the devs for trying to just do 1 thing really well. I remember an interview with the lead designers where they were discussing the game journalist scandal mentioned in this video, Just for context, the person reviewing the game was kind of a veteran at game reviews and for some reason Polygon decided to release clips of his gameplay and it was comically bad which obviously brings up the question of, "if your job is to review games and you claim to be a gamer why does it look like your horrible at said games?"
But instead of jumping on the bandwagon of mocking this "expert" they said that if someone can't figure something out in the game that's on them. If someone is complaining that Doom sucks because the sniper rifle blows and they don't get you're not supposed to sit back and snipe all day, how can we communicate to the player not to do that? They tried to fing ways they can improve leading the playe so they will naturally want to play the game in a fun way. Which I don't think they 100% succeeded on that front. I feel they over tutorial-ized it and the best way to lead a player along is to make the player feel like nobody is holding their hand but that's a very positive attitude to have as a creator.

Max0rs Videos are great but they feel the same like he explained the Lore of Doom Eternal at 7:43. Sometimes it's hard for me to understand him because of the insane amount of Input you get per second but even so the Viedes are allways funny to watch.
As a person who has put literal thousands of hours into classic Doom and a massive fan of new Doom, the lore is a TRIP. Doom Eternal is so fast paced the Flash wishes he was Doom Eternal
Watching doom eternals cutscenes are honestly badass and fun
