Pretty good set up. I purchased all the components for my older hero 4 black. Tried it out today riding around the neighborhood before the storm hit. I was very happy with how it worked, just need to fine tune it before the trip to Montana soon!
Nice solution. But if you don’t want to worry about turning your head or the camera, get a GpPro Max. It takes 360 all the time. Then later you select what direction you want to look at. Also nice, as you turn your head to look around corners and such, the view doesn’t change in the playback unless you want it to. Thx for your video. The mount looks cool and quite adaptable.

My takeaway from this video....you're going to cost me some money! Love the setup! I have an old GoPro 2 which works fine but for the past few days I have been looking into upgrading to the GoPro 7 and just found this video and this setup looks terrific! Thanks for the video, great job!!!

I have been searching all day for a solution to mount my new Hero 9 Black that I just bought yesterday on my GL1800 and Harley Electra Glide. I also have a Shoei helmet mount on its way but I prefer a handlebar mount. I love the swivel and ordered it while watching the video. I really appreciate the product links. (Rob)

This set up should work for just about any bike. They mount on the clutch or brake mount. Thanks for your kind words.

The only problem I see is that it should be on the left side. Around where I ride it is not always possible to use the cruise control. I ride mostly curvy roads here in Tennessee so I would prob try to use from the left side.
That's a good point I thought about putting it on the left but my wife brought up that most of the time it would be getting cross traffic instead of the scenery off to the side of the road so I put it on the right but the good thing is my bike has a RAM mount ball on both sides as I usually have my phone mounted on one of the sides also so I can always switch it if I get into a twisty long stretch. Usually not a problem in Nebraska. Thanks for your comments

Great, glad to hear the video inspired you to mount your camera. Wow, I totally missed putting that part on the list. So sorry. There are many on Amazon that you can purchase. Just search "GoPro tripod mount" When I get home I will add it to the description. No, adhesive tape. It is a gopro base with a 1/4" x 20 threaded hole on it that the tripod stud will thread into. Sorry it took me so long to respond, I didn't see your comment come through. Thanks for bringing it to my attention that part was missing in the list. Good luck and safe riding out there. Thanks for responding. I did search and find one of CNC Aluminum and mounted it. I’m testing the H8 this weekend on a ride. It’s a shame the H8 doesn’t have an audio jack for vlogging along the ride. I did order an aftermarket battery door which will allow charging on a ride. Do you record audio while using the Hero8 and if so, how?
In NC, and headed West for a 2-3 day ride in hopes of avoiding the rain this weekend!
@@supportengineer5889 I have a Hero 6 so I know you can hook an external mic to it but I do not record audio while I'm riding I don't have a microphone and I usually will just do a voiceover while editing the video but this is all pretty new to me so I have a lot to learn about making videos.
I think having commentary on the videos is crucial I watch a lot of videos that people just have music playing and they're kind of boring I've done a couple of those videos and they're kind of boring. Have a good ride your lucky to be still riding we got about 4 inches of snow here. Good call on plugging the hero in the GoPro batteries just don't last long enough it's great to have it plugged in and not worry about it powering down on you.

A useful looking mount but you do not mention the brand of it, where it can be obtained from or the cost of it. I am only interested in the MOUNT, not the camera. I live in Australia so getting anything for a Goldwing is really expensive here.

How do you do a motorcycle vlog to add your voice to your video? That's why I just have my gopro on on my helmet with a mic tied to my gopro..

How did you keep continuous power to go pro
Sorry, i didn't see your comment until now. I wired a usb port in the little storage compartment on the left. Then ran a usb to c cord out of it to the mount. When im not using it i unplug it from the jack in the compartment.
Will this work on an ebike handlebar?
I know Ram mount makes mounts for just about anything. As far as an ebike, I assume you mean the peddle type? I know RAM makes a mount that goes around your handle bar. Then, you would use the rest of the parts listed. Just not the clutch / brake mount attachment that is used for a motorcycle. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
I got the RAM Ball Adapter 1/4" 20 Thread post to screw into the bottom of the tripod but screw, thread, is too small....how did you connect the arm to the bottom of the tripod?
The tripod should have come with an adapter screw-in plug that would reduce it to quarter 20 threads if you look at the photo of the tripod that is listed you will see that little reducer
@@mrjawmaster5854 Yup...found it in the box!!! Works perfect. I am just waiting or the adapter to connect the camera to the top of the tripod...last step....does that adapter screw on directly to the top of the tripod? Thanks for your help! I'm looking forward to getting this on my Goldwing...
@@channelztv3799 yes the tripod has a quarter 20 thread that will thread into that GoPro adapter and you can crank it down on to the tripod you might want to Loctite some of the parts just to make sure they don't vibrate loose on you.
I think you are really going to like it it's awesome to be able just to pan it over and let it do the filming so you can keep your eyes on the road.
