This channel is mostly about racing and riding motorcycles. I come from a racing background back in the 70's and 80's. I took about a 36 year layoff of riding in the dirt and took it back up when I started training my Grandson how to ride. So, now I'm not only trail riding but back on the track. I also have a few instructional videos on things that I think will help others. I'm glad you found my channel and hope you enjoy watching the content. Happy riding!

The weather was nice, so we made the trec to Manhattan, Kansas, to the Spillway cycel area. The condtions were much better than the last time we were here with all the spider webs and hot temps. JJ Continues to get better.

We decided to go check out "The Spillway" cycle area in Manhattan, Kansas. We had a great time even though it was pretty hot and muggy out. JJ continues to get better at riding, but does have some spills on the hills.

Can you explain how one would know how they “win” or how you rank compared to others?
Thanks for watching Shane. They put a score card on your front fender and each person starts on a certain minute. As you go through the sections, you are timed. When you get through the wooded section, they write the time down when you get through. The person that has the smallest accumulated time wins your class.

Great mount! 3 years on now, do you like it? Would you do anything different? I have the same bike and am looking for a nav system. Ive been thinking of what you've done or going with an ipad mini/quad lock system.
Vanman, I don't have the CRF anymore, but am still using the Garmin on my Goldwing. I love it. For an offroad bike, I know Trail tech makes some real nice units that have some great options. You might check them out. Garmin has the new Zumo II out that I would love you have, but not wanting to pay the piper yet. Thanks for watching. Good luck.

Bummer man! Just did mine couple months ago. How bad was yours? I was riding trails again in couple weeks (2 weeks before I could even get the MRI. Rotator and AC tears. Partials thank god.
Mine was bad. Rotator cuff and bicep tendons. No more dirt biking the rest of the season. Had surgery right away. Went on a 3000 mile street bike trip 10 weeks after. Long recovery though. Back on the dirt bike again now. Thanks for watching. Glad yours wasn't as bad.
@@mrjawmaster5854 From watching yours, compared to what I did. Im lucky as hell. Cased a jump, saved it (for 2 seconds) then cross rutted, along with a whiskey throttle, then drove shoulder into rut, proceeded to do 3 cart-wheels. Im 320lbs mind you. LOL
Yes it's crazy I've had some pretty bad crashes in my day and not gotten hurt and then I just wash my front end out and fall down and blow out my shoulder and bycep

This is a little late since you have sold the bike but you would have to do the neutral safety switch mod in order to start Hondas in gear

@@jesshoyt340 I was not able to go this year. I was in Fort Dodge Iowa with my Grandson riding and blew out my rotator cuff on my shoulder. No more dirt bike riding this year. But back to it next year.

Thanks for the great info. Just bought a 2006 Goldwing , took a trip to Laconia for bike week ( 800 miles in round trip ) and could have used used this before the trip. Next trip will be better.

Your content is so interesting to me. I am just getting back into riding after more than 30 years. Got the same bike and watching your videos let’s me see what I’m in for. I also got this bike with the thought of also doing the TAT. My buddy has a gas gas enduro bike and like you said it is way easier to go faster on the smaller bike.
Yes, I sold mt 450L and bought a 2022 yz250fx. Its way better for hare scrambles. That 450 was awesome, just too heavy in the woods for going fast at my age. I just turned 60. Was sad to see the 450 go but couldn't afford both. Hope to maybe take my grandson on the tat when he turns 16 I'll have to buy a couple cheap bikes to do it we'll see what happens that's another 8 years away thanks for watching have fun with the 450.
@@mrjawmaster5854 here’s a thought, TW200 for the TAT. I just bought one as a second bike. I think it might be the perfect bike for the trip. I would not think anything could stop it. 😃
@@jdavishornet I'm not too familiar with the TW200, but think that if you have the 450L, that would be the bike to take on the TAT. Check out the "Billy Tyo" Channel. Him and his Son do the TAT on their 450L's. Thanks again for watching.

The previous owner did quite a bit and I did some more. Vortex ignition Fmf mega bomb header and Q4 silencer Seat concepts comfort xl seat Hand guards License plate led upgrade Different sprockets and chain, don't remember how he changed the gearing 3 gallon ims tank Some other small things. Pretty good set up. I purchased all the components for my older hero 4 black. Tried it out today riding around the neighborhood before the storm hit. I was very happy with how it worked, just need to fine tune it before the trip to Montana soon!

We were the atv group out there. My wife and i were on the polaris sportsman 850xp and my son was on his honda trx400x and our friends were on their orange honda 420 and my sons friend was on his orange raptor 250.

How did you keep continuous power to go pro
Sorry, i didn't see your comment until now. I wired a usb port in the little storage compartment on the left. Then ran a usb to c cord out of it to the mount. When im not using it i unplug it from the jack in the compartment.
I want to keep my ram mounts but add the butler… what do I need to do to achieve that? Did you just get longer screws or what?
Yes, just go to the hardware store. Best if you get stainless steel so the dont rust. Thanks for watching
Just add a RAM ball to the holder where the screw goes through it.
Ordered the GoPro though your links and you’re right. Reasonably priced and all went together and easily installed on my 21 Goldwing. Thank you for the idea. I can’t wait for warmer weather to try it out.

An important factor you forgot to mention is...Hero 4 and older can only be plugged into a 1.0 AMP port to charge or use for external power.

I had that happen a couple times, I just had to move my phone up a little to move it off of the buttons. Each phone is different I suppose. Hope that helps. I also use the Tether that came with the mount to hold it tighter. Thanks for watching. Did you check out my video on mounting a GoPro?

Will this work on an ebike handlebar?
I know Ram mount makes mounts for just about anything. As far as an ebike, I assume you mean the peddle type? I know RAM makes a mount that goes around your handle bar. Then, you would use the rest of the parts listed. Just not the clutch / brake mount attachment that is used for a motorcycle. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

How do you do a motorcycle vlog to add your voice to your video? That's why I just have my gopro on on my helmet with a mic tied to my gopro..

It's a great mount, but may I ask why you didn't run a USB power source up to your phone to charge it while riding the motorcycle?
I did, I just didn't show it in the video. The video was about the mount, not the power. Good point though. I should have. I have power on both sides. I'm now using a Garmin Zumo xt on the left side and my GoPro setup on the right. Check out that video on the GoPro setup. I think you will like it.
Looks like that 450 has plenty of grunt. Is it as quiet as it seems on the video?
I have a quiet Core 4 FMF slip on, on it. It still is fairly loud, but not as loud as the Power Core it used to have on it. This bike is awesome, but pretty heavy. I know I could go faster on a lighter 2 stroke, but this is what I have.
@@mrjawmaster5854 I was thinking it looked like a really good choice until it was laying on its side and didn't want back up. I'm leaning towards a small bore 2 stroke. Maybe a YZ125X or a 150 KTM or Husky. I'm 150lbs and it doesn't look like there are enough wide open areas in these races to really need a big bore and their longer legs. I don't know what to get though.

Not a street bike though, this bike needs some mods out of the box, but it really is a great off road bike.
If you don't mind, how old are you? I'm 49 and thinking of getting back into off road riding for the first time in over 20 years. I have a young daughter that wants to learn to ride and that might be my excuse to start again. Trying to talk myself into it. I live in Iowa too
59, I would say that getting back into riding and racing has been real good for me. It has motivated me to get back in shape and I'm having a great time training my Grandson to ride. It's amazing how fast he is learning. You have many years of off road riding ahead of you. Living in Iowa, you are fortunate with all the riding opportunities.. I hope you enjoyed watching my video. 54 here. Just started back too. Just do it. You’ll be happy. Love being out on the 450rl. Haven’t raced yet. But it’s great being out there. As long as you use good technique and have some strength the things age holds you back from in other sports won’t stop you from being a capable rider. That’s what is so exciting about picking it back up. The Jawmaster is inspiring a bunch of people here. It’s great.

That track sucks! That is why, bad jumps. From the viewers angle, those hard landings look like they are caused by too long of flattops. Most of the times I take the tightest inside line to reduce my speed and air time for bad jumps and ones I can't clear. then gas it hard on s short landing and plow off the end. The energy and stress saved gives you more endurance and if you get your power to the ground fast you don't lose much time. You were doing great out there! Yeah you stressed out the suspension but the honda did excellent!

Was this a timekeeper or sprint enduro? I see they were using mylars.
This was not a timed event in the manner that you the enduros that you have to know what time you should be at every minute. You start on a minute and should be there at a certain time, but if you get there early you don't lose points. So, essentially, you go as fast as you can from check point to check point. I have watched plenty of Sprint enduros on youTube but not familiar with how they work. Thanks for watching my video and your comment.
