Except its not a true flagship. It has many many flaws software-wise (classic Xiaomi) that should not be allowed at this price range.

@@malidan1196 heh problem is xiaomi will supposedly retail for 799euros and you get bare phone no headphones no nothing. For 850 euros you get s20+ and you also get earbuds which retail for about 170 euros, s20 ultra cost about 1160 euros and you also get earbuds and imho a much better phone. It is also worth to mention you have to pay import tax from China which can add up a lot . So its no longer clear which is a better buy. Anyways better wait for redmi later this year.

Does the Mi 10 have settings in the camera app that allow for changing color saturation, contrast, sharpness, exposure?
Also it seems a tad unfair to me to compare the Mi 10 Pro price with the price of P30 Pro or S10, since those are a year old now. And compared to the base version of S20, the base Mi 10 Pro offers
    +128GB storage
    +bigger screen
    +500mAh battery capacity
    +faster quick charger
    **waiting for the camera comparison**
Basically all the S20 has is IP68 certification and the QHD resolution (useless on a 6.2 inches screen IMO) at this point. And the Mi 10 Pro costs about 660EUR, while the S20 starts at 900EUR (prices on GSM Arena). I think the Mi 10 Pro is clearly a better value.

    Very good review, as usual!
I read a lot of opinions about battery consumption overnight. From my experience with Xiaomi Poco F1, after the update to Android 10 and MIUI 11, at 6-7 hours I have a consumption of 4-5% with WIFI and Sync on (plus backup active). I didn't make any additional settings, so I can't tell anyone what to change. This when everyone knows that SND 845 is not a champion in energy saving ... Then about the price of this Mi 10 Pro phone ... Strictly for the hardware and what it offers, I don't think it's an exaggerated price. In fact, the problem is that we cannot accept a higher price when this brand comes into question, Xiaomi.... However, I think this series, Mi 10, will be difficult to digest by the competition ...

  • @ritual301
    @ritual301 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Holy hell. I had heard that is was gonna go for 600-700 US dollars, and I felt that was too expensive. But at 799 Euros?! They're going to One+ route and they're just another normally priced flagship. And now they have to compete with some truly heavy hitters like Samsung, Apple and Google and that doesn't bode well, considering those big 3 usually have impeccable software.
For me, 300 US is about my limit for how much I am willing to spend. I find at that price I could find something with a decent 700 level chip that will be plenty for someone like me who doesn't game. Cameras are also a bit of a priority, and a smooth UI is a must. And I feel at 300 US, I can typically find something that will fit the bill. I've even some 855 phones from last year that are hitting that dollar mark on occasion.
Anyways, long story short- Yes, I agree this phone, at that price you mentioned, is definitely too expensive. As always, thanks for you thoughts!

For around 800 dollars you can get a Samsung Note 10 plus these days. That is a better deal regardless of it having an 855 Soc and 60 hz display. Difficult times to choose in about 2 months... I'm tempted to choose the Mi 10 pro.... Samsung is no option because I want the snapdragon 865 and not exynos 990 (I live in Europe). But I also saw the Xperia 1-II which has the fastest autofocus and I hate it when I want to take a picture of my daughter for example and she suddenly moves her head and the picture is fuzzy so this camera system from Sony looks interesting... I just want the best hardware and don't care about looks so much or prices, I will probably use my next phone for 4 years if it survives.... (using s10+ now). A lot of user were looking for it years ago, but there was no response from them. It is really a deal breaker for those who doesn't have a good cellular network at home. Besides, I would like to save my images in raw format, which seems available for Mi note 10, but their customer service told it is not possible on Mi 10. Video editing, photo editing is faster with 25% on the mi9T pro over the S20's series Exynos counterpart, even though we are talking 2019's mi9T pro, using a 7nm TSMC 855 announced at the end of 2018.

Also gaming and streaming is smoother on Xiaomi, and gestures are more fluid, plus Samsung tends to override Google settings by introducing some of their respective own like Samsung pass that well, it is good, but I want to use it on every device, and Google autofill service is faster, messaging app from Google is better having functions like RCS, also Wi-Fi calling even though is blue (on) does not work for me on s10/s20 U, though s8,s9, a8 and note9 it worked just fine.
Also, using Orange my mi9T pro gave me 300 mbps, which I managed to get speeds of download and upload for Google photos of up to 75 mb/s over cellular data, and that says a lot. Also Wi-Fi is a charm and works way better than on Samsung.

That stutter in the videos captured by the device is actually existed in every Xiaomi's phone, since my first Xiaomi phone to be honest. At first I thought it was happened only in their entry level line up, I was using Redmi Note 4 back then. I wonder how they ended up having the highest score in DXOMark, though I must say that their camera quality (photo or video) is far beyond their respective tier.
For example I once tried to compare RN 7 with Vivo Z1 Pro and the result was RN 7 is better in every aspect, considering the price gap is quite far -roughly about 70-100 USD..
