People who own FSD complaints about a lot of glitches from the new version. First of all, it is still supervised version. You agree to Tesla to deactivate your FSD anytime. Don’t be naive.

I haven't got to play with it in a parking lot yet (need vids like this to reassure me) but going around in circles in my driveway while sitting in the backseat or having it follow me around like im walking my dog has been a huge game changer. Still not even able to process that my car is following me around and driving without a driver. What a time to be alive.

It would be a new feature to transmit your voice to the car external speakers during the summon session. For example if somebody is accidentally blocking the path of the car, you can ask them with your voice to move out of way...

I was just at our local grocery store here in the Tampa Bay area where many customers were stocking up for the coming hurricane Helene. I successfully got the car to come to me three times through much traffic and pedestrians. As the car came the last time, the store manager approached and told me that several people had come in and complained that the driverless car seemed dangerous. He asked me to stop. I told him how it works and that I could stop it immediately by lifting my finger. What he and the customers don't understand is that the car is far safer than the other cars with live drivers. We have a lot of educating to do.

People paid for that service 2 years ago. It is like you pay now and wait unlimited time for it. What do you praise for? It is supervised version and still has a lot of glitches.

Great video! You’re braver than I am. I’ve played with ASS in a local grocery parking lot. Hard to let it go and drive BY ITSELF. Scary for fear of people’s negative reactions or an incident. My blown away moment was sitting in the passenger seat and sending it to a target. Chauffeured by my car - holy smokes! Robo taxi for real. Hope to see you at 10/10!

I finally got the ASS feature update and did a small-time test in my local Starbucks parking lot. Handled like a champ! Eager to try it out in more scenarios. I drive for Uber Full-time. I 90% of the time have FSD on. About halfway through a trip with the customer, I casually announce the car has been driving the whole time. People's reactions to that are priceless. I think I inadvertently sell a Tesla once a week.
Ik a lot of tesla owners are posting videos and yt shorts about this updated feature, but AI driver has by far the best video editing and coverage over these updates. Thank you for posting these brother! God bless

2024.27.25 update might have something to do with the back-up blindspot deletion.
The UI menu now has a user-editable blind-spot distance buffer.
That may prevent first-time confusion/panic at the previous back-up at start-up maneuver.

I received it today, and did a few test runs, and wow.. it was amazing... I need to try out my local Costco to really stress out the conditions.

The reasons the cars wont let it get by is because theres no driver and if you see it stopped you think it's just parked or something.
I did have that thought. Be quite the ass to park right there but yeah, I can see at least some people thinking that.

Yeah the only way to grant right-of-way to a driverless vehicle is to stop, wait, and hope it takes it. You can't do the whole "slow to 1-2 mph and wave them through" thing that everyone is accustomed to.
i can also see anti EV/Tesla people not giving it the ROW on purpose, just out of principle.

Great video, and I just got Summon on my 23 Y as well as loving it. Two questions. What is the phone near your wireless charger doing? Also, how do you open the windows when Summoning the car? I was only able to use the vent feature.

1:50 holy shit that’s SUCH a big improvement. I remember when the old Smart Summon would activate, move forward, then randomly stop and it would take like a minute to reconnect to it and having to exit the Summon menu and go back and wait for it all to load etc etc. such an insane night and day difference my God lol.
You have to press and hold for it to work I get that. But do you have to let go when pedestrians are crossing? Or do you keep on pressing and the FSD will atomically stop?

Been trying it out myself as well, but it seems to think that parking lots with covered parking are on public roads. I’ve had two occasions now where it started to head towards me, but then stopped saying cannot operate on public roads

I remember there being reports of Tesla training the model for areas that Musk and social media influencers were driving a few months back, but this cannot be that due to a parking lot being so variable. Awesome to see such improvement
I used to doubt whether FSD would ever actually be a thing, but seeing the car navigate these chaotic parking lots, where the most accidents happen of any driving, gives me a ton of confidence that they're gonna pull it off.

7:30 I’ve noted in many videos the rear fog lights switch on at night when using ASS. I guess this is a strategy to improve lighting up the surroundings out back to improve safety when reversing. Actually smart! 😂

Did they fix the hard braking issue? In a big city like Chicago, that was a big issue. So big I stopped using FSD.
I have 12.5.4. I'm not as brave as you. But, the little bit I have done is very impressive.

Amazing! Can you do some tests on hills, please? Regular summon wouldn't work on a slope but ASS seems to. My driveway is sloped up from the garage and I have to S out of my half of the garage. I tried to use ASS to back out of the garage and up the driveway just now. It stopped at the bottom of the slope but then continued up the driveway as far as it could. However, it couldn't turn the wheels for the required S maneuver, probably because there wasn't the minimum 30 cm clearance between the garage door frame and the fender. It would be nice to know what its limits are when it comes to summoning on hills.

Finally got the update tonight on my M3. Tomorrow i will be doing some gravel/dirt road testing i have 4 i encounter on a daily basis. Two have quite steep hills and in the past it has refused to navigate on an incline.
Excellent video as always. I used summon at a local casino. The car was approximately 180 feet away parked head in. Once backed out of the parking space it had a straight line to where I was standing. Between the car and myself there was a exit/entrance road it had to cross over. Car backed out fine and head towards me, then the left turn signal came on and the car turned onto the exit/entrance path to go out onto the main highway. I stopped it and ran like hell to the car because it was now blocking cars coming in and cars going out. One person was shouting expletives that I could not mention here. I can imagine if Elon Musk was there he would be saying "Thanks for playin' Cecil."
I suspect they’re running a minimal version of Sentry Mode to avoid the need to back up. 👍🏻

Oddly, the update became available while I was washing the car. I know it's a long shot but if you are waiting for the update, you may want to try putting your car in car wash mode.

Got my 12.5.4 update on Tuesday and so far I've noticed that ASS does have a hard time Summoning from shorter distances. I also work at a place where we often have an emptier parking lot and it seems to have a little bit of a hard time obeying the parking spot lines in a socially acceptable way when there aren't cars parked in them.
That being said, I DID have an interesting experience where the car didn't pull up to be, but rather pulled straight into the nearest parking spot to where I was, which was interesting.
The cricket vibes at 4ra are stronger with Finch, man. It's like having a captain for our betting team!
Could you try having someone not in control of the car go infront of it and get in, it would be really interesting to see what would happen
