This song reminds me of the days everything was simple , me playing in nature my mom and dad fishing near me when I wasn't lonely , now I have my own kid but stil missing my parents in this story . Wishing I could share it with them especially her beautiful character 😔
this song always holds such a special place for me. the first time i heard it i was living with my parents in university. ive listened to finishing my degree, getting a job, moving out, growing ill, becoming bedridden. wanting to live, and wanting to die all at the same time. but the song has never changed. it’s always been there. i feel as if i am listening to it for the first time and for the 100th time all in the same moment.
This reminded me of my neighbors 13 year old daughter who unfortunately passed away from leukemia in 2021. This song was played during her Memorial Service. And that is most certainly a day I will remember clear as day for the rest of my life.
Whenever I hear this , I feel an extraordinary sense of longing , reminiscence , sadness and love…..No other music can do this to me in this way ……Thank you Max
I discovered this theme due to the film THE ARRIVAL, since then, I have found more music composed by Max Richter... and the more I listen to it, the more I like it. Excellent video, thanks
This song is like a bird above soaring above an endless troubled sea on a dreary day, turning and soaring up into a beaming pillar of light coming from an open wound in the clouds, bathed in gold it it disappears above the clouds.
I served in a time of war as a combat soldier. War is anything but what you think it is. War is a glimpse of hell. It is completely devoid of love and kindness and the only thing on your mind is fighting your way back to base. Do your job. That’s what I was told and my job was killing. I’m understand why it was necessary, but I hated doing my job. I’ll never get over doing my job. Every time I look at my son I pray to God that he never has to do my job.
thank you for your service, i am sorry for that terrible experience you had. thank you for all of your sacrifices, mentally, physically emotionally and your time as well. thank you.
Every time I listen to his I can feel his cold skin, so pale, so white. And I remember getting lost in his black eyes, while I caress his face, while I love his scent, while he smiles hiding the pain.that carried his soul... For a moment He returns to me
I tend to visit this piece, as well as a few others, to try and absorb the nostalgia that spills from it. It’s a beautiful familiarity that I have yet to know. I won’t try and explain, because I think you already understand the articulation.
"a beautiful familiarity that I have yet to know" - you put it beautifully. May I ask the name of those few other pieces you mentioned that spill this sense of heart moving nostalgia?
when my stomach churns its not making butter, but making flies. flying through focused hoops of stress and pain, losing sight in my eyes. i cant do this anymore I say, I CAAAANT. no. if anyone can step up through all of the weight its you, you can pull through, you can bleed up the mountain and build your garden, copper and berries, eat your sugar and die on your hill. i buried my ego long ago, i thrive in meaninglessness but there is hope...in nothingness. i eat my berries and watch the moon rise.
