Fellow North Carolinian brother. In the foothills. Found your page while researching for my own F80 purchase. Great content man. I just bought a black F80 comp. Coming in this Saturday and I've never been so happy signing my life away hahaha
@@zachmorrow1 lol I just hate when they wave me around them in a turn when I know they can’t see either 😂 I learned that the hard way when I trusted one and almost had a head on collision
had my f82 for almost 5 years now, for 70 miles, 55k tuned; and the car has been flawless. I would never ever get rid of it; such a raw car all you need is a nice exhaust and a little more juice power wise from stock. Just picked up a s550 gt500 and the f82 still puts a smile on my face.
Purchased my First M car just this week. 2018 F80 Competition with 47,000kms (29,000 miles), completely stock, sapphire black, BMW certified from the original dealer who sold it. I really wanted a CS but just couldn’t find a decent deal, but I pick this car up in 10 days once I’m back from work/travel. Cannot wait to let it rip and just like you, I will never sell this car.
I love your car. You helped me choose mine. I just put hand controls in a 15 Sakhir M3. Its so great. My whole family loves it. My wife wants a motorcycle now lmao no one warned about THAT. NC looks beatiful. Awesome filming and views. Glad you still love your car.
@@f80_Trevor I knew i messed up when I went from F80 CS to G80 CS, the F80 had more soul, more raw, and the DCT is just so engaging compared to the ZF. Yes the G80 CS is fast but..... F80 CS its just so special to me. So I agree it will go down as one of the last Modernized RAW M3.
Awesome! 100% about the look and durability. I even take mine to track events about 5 times a year to beat the snot out of it. Need to keep up a little more with maintenance, but a fabulous drive all around. And she still looks great going on 9 years, 80K miles.
I own a 2015 F82 M4 with almost 96k miles minor maintenance done to it, 2 coils went bad and shocks replaced for an almost 10 year car. It is a really good platform.
Stepped into a 2024 G82 yesterday..its a beeg car..its a beast no doubt.wiide...definately a step up..but the F8x is special. Going to give it a year before i go G82.
I’ve had my eye on an f80 for 5 years. I can afford to buy it - I just don’t know if I can afford to fix it when stuff breaks. That’s what scares me - I don’t want to be hit with a $10k repair
This is the next car I hope to buy in 3-4 years. Did the responsible thing as a 21 yr old and got myself in a Camry, boring but affordable and reliable nothing more I could ask for. But I’m itching to get back in a raw sports car. The F80 fits everything I’d want in a car, even if I daily it. My only fear would be financing a older German car but I keep hearing they’re pretty reliable. I wouldn’t go any higher than 48 months, I’d prefer 36 but if I can get under a 5% APR I’m scooping one up right away. For my F8X owners, anything to make this thing a tank? Anything to look out for when I’m looking? And is $35-40k a good deal for a decently driven one?
@@f80_Trevor i raced a stage 2 ots tuned f80 we were bumper to bumper all the way till my limiter also raced g82s x5ms the only cars i lost to were f90s my car has only exhaust mods it runs 11.5 at 120 1/4 mile
Hey man! Neat video with all those cinematic shots! The F80 is my dream car and I really wanna know, has there been any maintenance issues with your M3? I've heard M3s have had problems with the poor apple car play, squeezing sounds from the doors, broken top mounts, leaking AC, etc.. I'd appreciate it if you also included how often do you change it's oil and such! Thank you!
The Squeezing is how they were able to keep the weight lighter. Since the start all M3 has gain weight after each version. The F80 series was the first one in a long time it has weight reduction from it's previous generation. The plastic is , "semi-hollow" hence squeaky. Charge pipes only bust if are boosting without hardware upgrades so the top mount will leak because of it. the F80 went through a lot of stress testing with Toyota. F80 to G80 reliability was reviewed by Toyota thus setting up a new standard for BMW in terms of reliability. In exchange, Toyota learned a lot about performance the german way. In short, i've also have no issues. You can see how large the F80 community and culture is too. There is TONs of content and mods. No one has really complained about reliability issues unless they are the reason.
Im in the market for one right now, always been an Audi guy but. I had the opportunity to drive my co worker f80 manual straight piped on coils with a rear seat delete and let me tell you I was hooked. I love my b8 s4 but there’s not much more I can really do to it so I’ll probably sell it or trade
hi trevor, i am from singapore, glad i came across your video. i have a 2017 f80 comp too. my car keeps pulling to the right. i heard in your video that you have issue with your steering rack. i have some issue too, im wondering is it due to steering rack issue that my car keeps on pulling to the right. may i ask does your car pull to the right with the steering rack issue you mentioned. i have went for wheel alignment many times and changed my lower arm and supension. but it still pulls to the right. hope you can share some insights with me. thank you
Sounds exactly like my issue as well. If I get to the bottom of it I’ll let you know. Also it sounds stupid and simple but check your tire pressure and make sure they’re all the same too
I’m a Honda guy I corentky have an s2000 I was thinking of selling it and getting a type r (Fl5) but I’m really considering a f80 m3 I’m just conserved about the reliability. A 2017-2019 range from 45k-60k which i can see why but it’s the same price if not more expensive than a brand knew type r. I’m not sure I’m on the fence. Any help and feedback will be gladly appreciated!!
Same boat I own a 8th gen si Fa5 butting a built motor with a turbo on it and Ik at some point I’m not gonna want to drive the car everyday. My pops has a fl5 and driving that car is so fun despite the lack in hp but the two cars I’m looking at other than the fl5 is the f80 and the f87 comp more hp and from what I heard both cars are nimble as hell so I’m really stuck right now
Thats funny that you're saying all these great things about this car because I own the F80 ZCP and ZEC options with it. But the same things you are saying about the F80 is what I am NOT saying about my F80. I am saying this about my E92 M3 with ZCP hahahaha

Picking up my F80 manual on Saturday! Sooo stoked. Had an F30 335i and finally graduating.
