One of the best covers ever done. Even Paul Simon complimented him on it. I hope he does more music like this in the future that shows off his clean sound because he has an incredible voice.

As a kid in the 60 I remember the song to be. Great then but now at 62 years old David puts a real warning of the times much has changed in the years I have lived thank you GT

A 1965 song written by Paul Simon re-released in 2015 by Disturbed; datz 50 years later!! This is beyond awesome this is probably the best cover EVER!!! Hands down, my favorite song these past 5 years!! Disturbed's video for this was also knocked out of this Universe... so much emotion, powerful imagery and just an overall amazing performance by a band that most folks had no clue how awesome the singer was!! INCREDIBLE!!! \m/

-David Draiman: "The fact that I was sick as a dog (laughs). I remember I was definitely fighting something off, but it was a cool experience. It was cool performing with an actual orchestra. It was really vibing and the mood helped, I think, enhance the delivery. The stars just aligned that night and everything went right."

I can't get enough of DISTURBED
He was extremely sick with the flu and the band made him sit for fear he would pass out. One of the Conan producers chose to throw autotune in a couple of spots and it infuriated David.

Thanks for this review pal I really enjoyed it and also subscribed but in my opinion that's one of the best live performances of all time and considering he was I'll with the flu at the time makes it all the more impressive, without doubt he is one of the best vocalists on the planet!
David Draiman spent the first couple of decades of his life traveling around the US and Israel training to be a cantor, like his father, and his world-famous grandfather. It's one thing to be a professionally trained vocalist, being a cantor is much more difficult. Remember, this song was an anti-war protest song written by Simon & Garfunkle in 1964.
Peter Hollens and Tim Foust (bass singer from Home Free) did a cover of the original version. It’s also beautiful. Disturbed KILLED this. My favorite of all their songs (and I like their other stuff, as well).

Just as people have said you need to also react to the official video. Just as in this performance where it starts with his voice and layer's up adding different instruments and Davids voice getting more and more intense the video is a whole new dimension and layer to the song And It really carries the weight of his words. Speaking of the weight of his words, David was raised as an orthodox Jew. That means you are Very observant. He is a classically trained singer because he was trained to be a cantor for the synagogue. The cantor sings back everything the rabbi just read from the torah. Needless to say Having a cantor for your synagogue Is something really special. But he left being a cantor to pursue his own music. Art Imitates life. Years ago, Actually maybe 2 decades ago, there was a movie called the jazz singer with Neil diamond. Neil diamond is a cantor and that is the family business. He wants to leave that to pursue his own music which is jazz. If you get a chance please react to some Neil diamond. He is Ageless. Yes disturbed is heavy metal and in an interview that you can find on TH-cam David says that it took them a couple of years to come up with the exact arrangement That they wanted for the sound of silence. I'm really glad that you didn't shy away from heavy metal Because the impression I get is a lot of reactors are scared of it. And just as David shows, some of the best voices Belong to singers in heavy metal groups.
