I wish it was like that with most people in real time. If you're ever out in South orange county, check out a regional park with a beautiful lake, and many wooded walking trails. It's a real gem in Laguna Niguel. It's worth the trip!

Hey Scott..if you're going to spend any time in Wash..the Discover Pass is a great deal. It gets you into all state parks for day use..which at $5 - $10 a visit can add up quickly. Also..there are several DNR (Dept of natural resources) campgrounds that you can stay free for up to 7 days. The $35 is a good deal when considering almost every day use area requires it.
Well, all I can say is that I've gotten through one whole 'haircut' period with you, so that is a testament to you and your channel. That is, if you cut your hair in the next week. I would just show the park rangers your purchase receipt for your Discover Pass. Take care and travel on !!

I don’t like eggs with blood in them turns me off So now I buy omega 3 eggs much better at least you have your pass know good for you Scott I was going to ask you about your hair it’s getting thicker doesn’t take long to grow. Speaking of Public Showers you may or may not be aware of the ones in La Push. If you drive around back of their general store there are a few that are available. I've also been to Kitsap Memorial Park a few times. Beautiful place to spend the day.

I almost exclusively stay in state parks while in my minivan. I think it's because I camped at Brimley State Park in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan my whole life and I feel comfortable there.
It's so cool that you're in my neck of the woods. I work in Silverdale right down from REI 😁 Hope you safely make it to the Olympics soon. It's definitely one of my favorite places too, so peaceful 👍

Been home a little over a week from a 10 day stay in Sequim….I wish I had thought of to look about local REI stores….would have been a fun day trip down to Silverdale. Life goal is to visit as many Costcos and REI’s as I can out west. Take yourself and that DISCOVERY pass down to Cape Disappointment SP. The communities of Seaview and Longbeach are so fun….the day use opportunities at cape Disappointment are many and wonderful. The best walking from Beards Hollow on the discovery trail out to the beach for 7 miles on asphalt path. Have Fun.

Good Coffee, Good Morning! I did get me some portable panels for my power station and to plug in to my van system and now after seeing how you did it with the Anderson connector I wish I would have thought about that instead of the MC4 branch connectors, there just bulky and not that easy to un-connect for me. Also I went with a Renogy 30 A solar controller/dc to dc charger, I believe I can benefit from a little help from the vehicles charging system, seems to be a good all in one unit at a great price($225). Enjoyed the video thank's again and take care out there.
Happy to hear that you have your solar figured out. There’s a tool that makes unclipping the MC4 connectors easy. Or you can always swap them out down the road. The issue with Anderson Connectors is the special crimping tool needed. I generally prefer to avoid specialty tools.

You need one of the fifty watt flexible panels to move around to augment when sun chasing. They are extremely easy to store. Last year at black Friday Amazon had a screaming good deal.

Be that as it may, your observation about the extra morning protein has good clinical evidence to support it. As an important part of the body's mechanism for using and storing blood glucose, it is essential to provide the aminos required for muscle maintenance and growth. More important for anyone over 40, since they've already peaked, muscle mass-wise . . . But there's good news too -- just the addition of 25-40 g of protein to the diet within a couple of hours of normal activity or more vigorous exercise is enough to prevent muscle loss. Even better is more of the same, up to 0.5-1.5 g/Kg (or higher, according to some biochemists) of body weight per day. Another method I've used to safely remove carbon residue from iron pans is scouring with salt. It's almost impossible to remove seasoning, and table grind or kosher gives a choice of "grit". Of course this is performed only on a dry pan that's not too hot -- and you might have to contain spills by doing this in the sink! And Scott, those who insist on B-2-B charging for an auxiliary battery probably don't realise how not-over-engineered modern alternators are -- and how vulnerable are the many on-board computers.

Hi Scott, REI should have gave you a receipt for that Discovery Pass. The receipt has the dates that the pass is valid for. The Ranger must be new or was really bored today.
I didn’t feel comfortable going to another park with the same Discover Pass. I simply wanted what I paid for. And REI was only fifteen minutes away. My only mistake was accepting the first pass.
Oh, 4am is too early. Last night I was woken up at 3am to small children running around my van. Even in my lack of sleep state, I immediately wondered where their parents were? Unfortunately, I soon got an answer. They parents started screaming at the kids to get back in the car. Then they all listened to blasting rap for the next forty minutes. Somehow the garbage trucks weren’t as annoying. Haha

A female part-time TH-camr nomad is traveling thru Washington State and she is looking for free campsites so l am now in the know, thanks to your informative and educational videos on advising her to buy the Discover Pass if l decide to be one of her subscribers. And l will advise to make sure the person issuing the pass has "passable penmanship". Kinda wonder why you would have accepted that pass in the first place. I’d have made him fill out and issue me a new one on the spot. With those cross outs and corrections it gives the appearance that you did it in an attempt to be deceptive as opposed to being a mistake on the part of the issuer.
Wow, people can be awful. I'm sorry they have cursed at you for such a silly thing. I was going to suggest it but only because I saw another van dweller that does it but he travels way more than you. And, my concern is will it cause your alternator to go bad quicker? I wonder that because I'm a gal that has had to replace several alternators over the years. Lol it's not worth that but maybe mine went out because it was a crappy car to begin with because I've had a lot of those. Too many to count. I cringe thinking of car issues. My engine light came on this evening but I believe it's because my exhaust is wired up with a wire hanger ATM. 😅

All you need to connect the car battery to the house battery is two #4 Diesel cables with connectors...#4 Diesel wire is sold on amazon for $2.20 per foot i believe...and i forgot that you should have an anderson connection by your house battery to disconnect when not driving...all in all about $20.00 or 5 times what you pay for a frying pan,

It was a Pugliese Bread. Essential Baking is a small Seattle bakery. I think their products are mostly sold near the city.

You need one of the fifty watt flexible panels to move around to augment when sun chasing. They are extremely easy to store. Last year at black Friday Amazon had a screaming good deal.
But I already have a 100 watt panel. That’s the panel I was moving around.

Hi Scott, This is an interesting and informative video. I learned some thing about solar connectors and that your state park pass is a good annual purchase. Looks clean and safe. Your really a good chef and you make me laugh because you have such dilemmas and get yourself out of them. I Listen to your videos over an over again. Is there a chance you will come to Florida? We have lovely parks and groomed trails.
Florida would be great to visit. Until my van gets a new engine and transmission, it’s probably not possible.

Another method I've used to safely remove carbon residue from iron pans is scouring with salt. It's almost impossible to remove seasoning, and table grind or kosher gives a choice of "grit". Of course this is performed only on a dry pan that's not too hot -- and you might have to contain spills by doing this in the sink!
And Scott, those who insist on B-2-B charging for an auxiliary battery probably don't realise how not-over-engineered modern alternators are -- and how vulnerable are the many on-board computers.

Twice I have watched as increasing income and the gifts and adulation of some (whom I'm tempted to characterize as "groupies") with deep pockets have influenced the vanlifer's lifestyle and content to be no longer relevant or even icky to me. I *need* your frugality and other "how to navigate life on humble wheels" content. Is watching you suddenly rocking the last brand name threads and pricey van accessories among your goals, or do you have plans for increased prosperity beyond the immediate?
Hi Scott, REI should have gave you a receipt for that Discovery Pass. The receipt has the dates that the pass is valid for. The Ranger must be new or was really bored today.
I didn’t feel comfortable going to another park with the same Discover Pass. I simply wanted what I paid for. And REI was only fifteen minutes away.
My only mistake was accepting the first pass.

Oh, 4am is too early. Last night I was woken up at 3am to small children running around my van. Even in my lack of sleep state, I immediately wondered where their parents were? Unfortunately, I soon got an answer. They parents started screaming at the kids to get back in the car. Then they all listened to blasting rap for the next forty minutes.
Somehow the garbage trucks weren’t as annoying. Haha

Yes, the Discover Pass is $30 plus tax. There’s a lot of free camping here in Washington. And some of it requires a Discover Pass.
Is Manchester State Park a good option for you? I camped there a very long time ago.

Kinda wonder why you would have accepted that pass in the first place. I’d have made him fill out and issue me a new one on the spot. With those cross outs and corrections it gives the appearance that you did it in an attempt to be deceptive as opposed to being a mistake on the part of the issuer.
Lesson learned
To save the time & hassle, I would have just gotten a sharpie & made the 3 look more like a 3.

Wow, people can be awful. I'm sorry they have cursed at you for such a silly thing. I was going to suggest it but only because I saw another van dweller that does it but he travels way more than you. And, my concern is will it cause your alternator to go bad quicker? I wonder that because I'm a gal that has had to replace several alternators over the years. Lol it's not worth that but maybe mine went out because it was a crappy car to begin with because I've had a lot of those. Too many to count. I cringe thinking of car issues. My engine light came on this evening but I believe it's because my exhaust is wired up with a wire hanger ATM. 😅
Yes, working an alternator harder will burn it out faster. That’s a point most people don’t like to discuss.

All you need to connect the car battery to the house battery is two #4 Diesel cables with connectors...#4 Diesel wire is sold on amazon for $2.20 per foot i believe...and i forgot that you should have an anderson connection by your house battery to disconnect when not driving...all in all about $20.00 or 5 times what you pay for a frying pan,
