Thanks for reminding me about the smoke box door. I don't know why the draw bar was not secured by a screw at each end like Hornby. I still love this model. Thanks for watching and commenting. Regards Paul.
Hello Paul. And thanks for the shout out, an absolutely brilliant video, stunning City of Truro is really a beautiful locomotive. I think you got a real gem there. Keep well mate. Hylt
Hi Paul I hope you are well These are fantastic models Only thing that needs improving is loco and tender connection. I do believe that the smoke box door opens Keep safe ARP
How can I possibly not enjoy watching my beloved steamy daughter on your railway? I don't know how you did it, but I take my hat off to you. City of Truro's original livery is Mid-Chrome Green, with Indian Red splashers and frames. I was lucky enough to ride behind the real engine on two occasions: 1991 on the Severn Valley Railway, and 2005 on the Llangollen Railway. On the 2005 occasion, I bagged two footplate rides in her cab. One at Carrog Station, the other at Llangollen Station. Round the coaches, that is. After that, she was resident on the Gloucestershire, Warwickshire Railway for a few years. She's in Steam Museum now, yet we can hope she will be let out again. What's not to love about God's Wonderful Railway?
Glad you are a fan of this beautiful locomotive. Saw this model first on Sam's Trains and wanted one ever since. When I saw it on Ebay I knew I had to get it. Surely an example of God's wonderful railway at it's best. Cheers.
What a beautiful loco, Paul. I am well jealous, the only outside frame loco I have is a weathered black BR E/E Earl. I love the late 19thC. monogram GWR livery, love that red/brown lower body colour too, top hole. All I can say is 'Cor what a stunner!' - what an excellent runner. On the look out for one now... maybe next month when I have a few quid lol That would look amazing with the Dapol Toplight coaches, methinks, but it looks great with the Clerestory ones. You have a special loco there, worth every penny. Good video as ever, Sir :)
Thanks for the kind comments. There is another example on E Bay for £40 more with items missing. They might have been fitted already. They don't appear very often. I hope you find one. Cheers Paul.
I was given one but being EM gauge I had to do much conversion underneath and re-motoring/gearing. After all that I painted it in inter-war colours and renumbered, named it Killarney (the only plates available).
Hi Paul, this is an amazing locomotive, what a beautiful livery 🤩👍 I wonder if it would run on radius 1? What radius do you have on your layout? Greetings 🙋♂️ Erik
@@paulcherrytrains3339 Thanks Paul! I am looking for a locomotive with tender fitting on my radius one mini layout. Probably only 0-6-0 will fit and maybe not all types.
I have no radius 1 track to try locomotives on so I don't know what to suggest. Some locomotives may run without derailment but you might get slowing down on the curves.
Hello Paul - I've got a City Of Truro Loco, but mine is a Non-working Model b/c I got it from a Magazine a few years ago called "Great British Locomotive Collection" which was a 43 Part Magazine which came out once every 2 weeks!!! th-cam.com/video/FpH7I56_x4c/w-d-xo.html Thanks for showing but did it really reach 100 MPH???? Who knows!!! 🤔😉🚂🚂🚂

Happy to do the shout out. Glad you liked the locomotive. I waited ages for one to turn up. Thanks for the kind comments. Cheers Paul.

I have the Bachmann Killarney. It's a lovely model. The GWR ran a service to Killarney. Your model sounds good. Cheers Paul.
Hi Paul, this is an amazing locomotive, what a beautiful livery 🤩👍 I wonder if it would run on radius 1? What radius do you have on your layout? Greetings 🙋♂️ Erik
The instructions say that the minimum radius is 2 which is what I am using. I hope this helps. Cheers.

Being a GWR person yes it did achieve 102 MPH. Cheers Paul.
