Thanks, dont think they were feediing on the surface, so i was lucky to get the ones i did. But too snaggy to try any sub surface lures.

I was entertained by ur vid. I used to use a walking stick for getting back to shore until one day the rubber stopper at the bottom end got stuck in a hole under the water and i lost my balance a bit and nearly fell over. Glad i didn't though. My advice is if ur going to do this method of fishing then use a long straight peace of wood, something like a brush pole with a 6mm hole drilled through 4" down from the top. Tie a good strong cord through it and add a clip of some kind so when not in use you can attach it to urself and not loose it when fishing. It helped me in the past. But if ur a total novice to Angling then i suggest not going into the water until you have mastered the art of fishing on shore first. Good video CJ Thanks for posting 👍

I made that very stick, the only modification was a bolt in the end of the stick , you can hear what you are probing with the stick, unfortunately insted of clipping it , i leant it against me i thought, but it floated off, need to make another, i agree if you are unfamiliar or inexperienced, you should not be wading other than on clear sand maybe. 😉

@SEAFISHINGwithCJ Yes bolt is a good idea I thought of fixing a 2 and a half inch long piece of copper pipe to the bottom of the stick with a pin going through the side to prevent it coming off and with a hacksaw cut across the end of the pipe just like you would cut a cake or a pizza lol 😆 then fold over the ends to create a solid base. That's my way of doing it. Also that mark you were fishing just screams Bass and Cod. We just started getting bass just a few years ago in our area which is good fun, but it's very poor for cod. Anyway keep up with the good work and happy fishing. Tight lines my friend.. 🐟🐟 🎣

I took my friend for lure fishing, he managed to replace 10 different lures in ten minutes😅 as he wasn’t catching anything and he wasn’t patient enough. Lure like other type of fishing, sometimes you get nothing at all

Yep you have to do your research, the fish have to be there and be feeding, then you have to 'match the hatch'' not like bait fishing where you draw the fish in to a scent. Im not sure that all beginners to lure fishing get that. I see so many say they they have been casting lures for so long and have never caught anything. I generally have a rod and lures with me so i can take the opportunity when it arises. Or if i head out, it will be to a specific tide, weather wind direction and location following a recce to judge water colour etc, and even then i blank.

Yeah they are great and they dive as well as walk on the surface, i lost 2 fish on them though. But shit happens. Think the fish were hitting them sub surface, as no splash.

Don't let coloured water put you off. Fish use much more that sight. You don't need light or clear water to catch fish on lures.

Have to say cj that is dangerous fishing walking out on rocks that you can't see clearly and only using your landing net handle sorry that's bad advice for people who never done it I have I'm 69 but I've never wandered out that far if you fall in that won t be good
