I really wish I had been able to read Percy Jackson as a kid! I read them recently as an adult and let’s just say I have a very unpopular opinion about them. I feel like I missed out on loving them!

Yeah I'm too scared to read them now. I just know I won't like them 😆 I guess when you're younger you don't really care, you just enjoy the story without overthinking it. Or you don't have much to compare it to.

Excellent vide, l loved hearing about your favourites...l have just ordered Stephen Fry's Mythos and have Song of Achilles and Circe on my June TBR...l read Lore last year and loved it...l have never actively sought out books in Greek mythology, but l remember when l was a kid my Father would watch Clash of the Titans, l think it was made in the 60s...l think l have seen that movie at least 10 or 12 times, he was right unto Greek mythology.

I've actually never seen that film but I need to! There's also apparently a film with Henry Cavill in called Immortals that I need to see too.

Mostly agree, but I just could not get behind Lore. It didn't make sense to me that Apollo wouldn't tell Artemis (AKA the *one* Olympian you would not want to play a week-long, deadly game of hide-and-seek against) that hey don't go after these people, please, sis, I want them to survive.

I get nostalgic about books and places too and they’re an immediate yes for me…

Yeah I think it's hard not to. Which is why you have to take books you read while young with a pinch of salt. I may have loved it when I was younger. But if I read it now, it could be very different.
