From one Stephen Fry fan to another, this is absolutely amazing. Thanks again, Erica. One book I'd recommend for newbies like myself re Ancient Rome is Mary Beard's: SPQR. Took it with me to Singapore and read it within a fortnight. It's amazing!
Thank you for your channel. You videos lead me to the beautiful world of not just Greek Mythology, but also mythology in general. I'm reading all the books you recommended in this video. I wonder if you could provide any recommendation for Norse Mythology? Thank you.
Thank you so much for this lovely comment 😭 I, unfortunately, don’t know much about Norse mythology myself, but a NUMBER of people have asked for this so I’ll be sure to get on top of finding someone who IS and bring them on the channel! :))
Also!!! I created a list for you guys of all the books I could find about the Ancient Greek & Roman world :) Overtime I'll be updating this (and adding sections for Egypt, the Near East, Mesoamerica etc), so check it out via this link www.moaninc.co.uk/books/the-ultimate-classics-book-list
Hello , the thing with Egyptian myth is that the accepted history has undergone such a complete revision in the last 20 or so years there are no easy access sources . Afraid your going to have to go to the archeologists and liguists . ( or Herodotus )
Natalie Haynes writes as if she's trying to put the men down and puts the women on a pedestal. I get female empowerment and all that, but it gets in the way of the story.
Stephen Fry is a modern day Cicero! I just love all of his audiobooks
His voice is utterly MAGICAL to listen to 🥹
