Welcome back all,
In this video I treat my recently purchased Mk6 Escort van to some much needed maitinance work. This was overdue and I have no proof of when a full service was carried out on the van, as it came with no service history! With help from AUTODOC, in this video I fully service the van, along with change the front pads and discs. Luckily for me the jobs went smoothly and now im wondering what I should do to the van next. I'm thinking some ascetic improvements as the van looks a bit tired!

As I commented on one of your previous videos. Those diesel Escort fuel filter housings were known for the internal diaphragm splitting which would quickly go from poor starting to not starting due to air getting sucked into the system. Definitely worth changing if it hasn't been changed for a while and not very expensive. I remember nursing my Escort van spluttering all the way back home around 100 miles down the M1 after the filter housing had started to fail. Managed to get home but it wouldn't then start the following morning.

Hammering screwdrivers through oil filters to remove them....oh the memories.
Know a tuber who wipes out the threads on all oil filters, most of the time he finds metal particles left over from the treads being cut.
Banded steels, slightly lowered with some cool sign writing would be spot on👌

It amazes me how quick fresh oil turns insta-black in a diesel 😆 As for cosmetics, headlining removal and clean - then wheels and caps painted - finished off with headlights polished. 👍

I use to use Auto doc but it took ages then i swithced to ARNOLD CLARKE Spairs next day delivery if you ring early and cheaper .

Use to like my old 2001 escort van its the tax that's a killer it's the same price as a transit so mite as well have the bigger van insurance was cheaper for a transit as well for some reason

When i use autodoc to get brembo parts for my 2008 su aru legacy they dont have all the items either pads discs or hardware i all ways use febi billstien discs and aisin pads

Make a video on changing the oil sump gasket, you'll probably want to do that.
I could do but mine isn't leaking! Also I would need to remove the gearbox to do that and seems a big job considering there's nothing wrong with it 👍🏻

I use to change my diesel filter every year in my escort diesel. As I never trusted the garage as they use to break the primer pump making it leak. Leaving me to buy a new filter housing

@@katkylekim if you don’t press them to hard they are ok. I use to leave the top pipe off prime it until the diesel came out of the top then replaced the pipe so the diaphragm had no pressure
@@Joe-ug1vu Im passed those days phew ,i was told it was a common fault and they never stayed long on the shelf ...
Take the top diesel pipe off when priming the pump when diesel comes out of the top pipe put the pipe back on. It saves the diaphragm getting damage in the priming pump due to pressure

Get a Mk2 focus 5 pot rs engine in it plus mk4 rs turbo alloys lower it 30mm add a Scorpion 4inch rolled out tip stainless oh and some tiger stripes lol do we have the budget or do we need a few more sponsers 😅. Anyway on a serious note im enjoing the channel keep up the great content its bang on 😎 👊🏻.

Oil filters seem to be mullered on on everything I buy. A 2 yr old car had to screwdriver it. Nice vlog used to have a 1.6 1984 diesel escort. Slowest car on the planet

Love your videos, not so keen on autodoc, I find their customer service bad, I was sent wrong items for my Citroen, after back and forwards with them over a week, they admitted fault for sending wrong items, i think they sent my items to someone else and had there items, that was the first and last time i used autodoc

You forgot to mention to pump the brake pedal after the brakes had been changed. Don’t ask me how I know to do that !!!
Years ago I changed the brake pads on my girlfriends car. I forgot to pump the brakes before I gave the car back to her. . . . . . . . Soon after the car needed a new bonnet!! 🙁
