    • @CentralVAracer

      I agree very easily. I’ve seen a local fox with a sbe 302 with standard 170cc tw heads with a trickflow stage 2 cam, victor efi intake and all supporting parts make 356rwhp through a t5. So a 11r 190 setup should do damn good numbers.

  • @michaelharris748
    @michaelharris748 3 ปีที่แล้ว +26

    Depends on the combo. An explorer top end with a letter cam might be 280 whp on it's best day (unported of course) but if you got a qualify top end like 11r heads, a custom ground cam and a badass intake you could see much higher on a stock bottom end stock 302 cubes...you could see upwards of 350 whp or even more depending how far you spin it. A light fox with gears feels killer with that kinda power lol.

Rn im addint a cam and bumping compression and doing a cai so i can finally say in fullbolt ons with a top end. Hopefully im over 300 wheel at that point. Also check all your ignition components. Back in the day when i dynoed my gt40p combo it would start sputtering the exact same way. We changed plugs, adjusted timing and it was still there. I did a super mild head port and intake match factory Mustang air filter and feed hose with K&N filter and 1.5" shorty headers. Floated the valves making peak HP at a terrible 4600rpm of 249rwhp and made 314rwtq at 3600rpm with NO tuning. This video combo has more left in it and start with fixing the ignition.

If you got a healthy combo on a 302 let alone a 331 or 347 the little bbk and other brand intakes dont flow enough for max power imo. Just my .02 but I would verify that timing with MS. I changed a cap and rotor and it threw mine WAY off. That caused a lot of popping and missing for me until I got it figured out. It was off by almost 10*!
    It looks like the car is a little leaner now, I hoped that helped. On my combo (gt40x heads, e-303 and RPM2) I’m running about 13.5 AFR with good success but haven’t verified at a dyno yet.
    I hope you get the n/a setup dialed in before the snail comes in the mail! 😏

I'm well aware of V8 hp and torque as I used to own and drag race V8 mustangs in my youth. I mention the Mini because that's what I have been racing for the last 15 years with SCCA. I can tell you from experience racing both that the Mini I race now is about 2 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile than my Mustangs were back in the mid and late 80's. Even though my V8's from the past had more torque than my current 1.6L it's also about a thousand pounds lighter. My main argument was actually addressing commenters that make armchair butt dyno claims.
