    1) what software did you use to edit your video?
    2) Where can I find an online internship program in digital marketing?

    Digital marketing boot camp can also help especially if they offer an internship.

    Love this video Aisha! As a former Fortune 500 Marketing Hiring Manager, I’d like to piggyback off some of the advice you provided here and add to it to hopefully help your viewers even more so give us Marketing hiring managers exactly what we want so they can get hired as fast as possible.
    Work experience means everything to us hiring managers - Aisha definitely started in the right place by talking about work experience first. If you have the right work experience, you’ll get interviews and job offers. If you don’t, you won’t. It’s really that simple.
    1. How do you get the work experience though? This is where most people struggle so let me make this easier for you. First, it’s not just about gaining any marketing work experience. Determine what area of marketing you want to go into first. Is it social media marketing, SEO Marketing, PPC marketing? Figure out what you like the most and then look at job openings for that job title. Here, you’ll be able to see what work experience they ask for over and over again. This is the work experience you need to get. Don’t make the mistake of just thinking you can get any marketing internship and it will help you get any marketing job. No, you need to get the right work experience for the job you want. As far as getting the work experience you need, if you go the internship route, once again, YOU MUST make sure you’re actually getting the right work experience for the job you want otherwise this won’t do you much good as so many people get internships but then they can’t get hired afterwards because they just did meaningless work at the company and not the stuff hiring managers are actually asking for in their job openings. Alternatively, if you want to get the exact Marketing work experience hiring managers want you to have immediately on your resume, JobPrepped’s Digital Marketing Training + Get You Hired program gives you 25+ bullet points of work experience across Social Media, Email, PPC, SEO Marketing and more through our program so that’s a quick option for you as well. Once again, as Aisha said, just make sure you’re giving them the work experience they are asking for in their job description as this what truly matters to us hiring managers.
    2. Creating an online presence - As Aisha mentioned, this can help. Just be careful what you do here. Recently, I’ve seen a lot of applications for social media positions where they are showing off how much they grew their social media account. Then, when I go to their account to check it out, although they grew it fast, it’s based on super controversial content which pretty much takes them out of the running for a job. So, just be careful about how you grow your online presence.
    3. Industry Changes - Yes, Social Media Today is good and Later.com also has a pretty good weekly newsletter to check out.
    4. Certifications - These are good to learn but don’t expect them to get you hired. These are not a replacement for work experience. So many people try to use these as a replacement for experience but these are not a shortcut as pretty much everyone has these now. The problem with certifications is that they don’t actually prove you can do the job as that’s why us marketing hiring managers put so much emphasis on work experience. So, don’t fall in the trap of trying to get 100 certifications thinking you’ll get hired because of them. Make sure your focus is on getting the right work experience for the job you want (solutions on how to do this mentioned above).
    Digital Marketing is a great field to get into and thank you so much for creating this video Aisha and showing people first hand how to do it. Just remember that just like any job, if you’re able to give the hiring manager the work experience they are asking for in their job description (2 solutions provided above), you’re going to get interviews and job offers much faster.
    Thanks for the great video Aisha!

      I share a similar background. I have a BA in business and an MBA. I've held different roles within business, but found myself wanting to do something more to help online businesses increase their presence and succeed. I hope your digital marketing journey is going well and wish you the best of luck!!

    Does degree and certs count as experience. There are usually a lot of case studies and scenarios done. Should we apply anyway when they ask for 2-3 yrs experience?

    Hi, thank you so much for your video!
    Im currently trying to go into the marketing field. I graduated with a sociology degree in 2020 with a lot of background in public relations. I did a pr internship my sophomore year in college (2017) and was apart of our pr club for 2 years. I’m currently helping my churchs marketing and communications team (web development, and other small projects). I just signed up for a digital marketing certification program where I completed my undergrad, and get to complete a project at the end. Is there anything else you would recommend?

    • @Aishcream
      @Aishcream  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wow that’s impressive, honestly you are already doing so much to get real life marketing experience and qualifications so just keep that up. I honestly think that if you started applying for jobs in the field you would have more than enough experience and examples to use in an interview. All the best 🤞🏾 😊

    Hello, thank you for the video.
    Question about the third chapter, Create An Online Presence - do you recommend that your blog, TH-cam account, Instagram account, etc. all have the same branding and / or discuss similar topics / niches? In other words, if I have a blog about one topic and a completely unrelated TH-cam channel that discusses a different topic or simply doesn't fall under that same brand, is it necessary to find a way to merge those two and create videos as well as blog posts that discuss similar topics? Or - when you're starting out - is it enough to have a blog, a TH-cam channel, and an Instagram account, regardless of whether or not they all fall under the same brand?

    • @Aishcream
      @Aishcream  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no not at all. They can be totally unrelated. The whole point of having and growing an online presence is to show that you have skills such as creativity, copywriting and that you understand things like how social media works. Algorithms, SEO and such the like. So it doesn’t matter what topics they are on at all. Hope this helps 😊

    is it possible to get a job in digital marketing with no college degree? being self taught?

    • @Aishcream
      @Aishcream  3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      It is yes, you would just need to be able to demonstrate the soft skills required and the passion you have for working in the industry. E.g. completing a digital marketing course and getting certified would demonstrate shows that you want it so much that you proactively enrolled yourself in a course to further build your knowledge etc. Hope this helps.
