Hello. I have to get mine working with a TRI U94v2 ptt, it has a jack plug where I connect the speaker/microphone to. When using the plug I can send (receiving on other radios) but cannot receive from other radios. I think it is because the prc stays on internal and not external like you describe. But do you think this fix will work? Since I have a jack connected, does jacks work different?

Hi, after advice and help please, I have a PRR (H4855), it has a double PTT so you can run 2 radios from it, I want to convert the Clansman connector (7 pin) to a NATO 6 pin set up so I can connect it to a PRC 152, first, can this be done and secondly the NATO 6 pins in the UK are very expensive and outside the UK even more so, cost more in shipping and tax than the part it's self, where do you source yours from please? Any advice and information would be appreciated. Thanks. PS you can get a PRR double PTT with a NATO 6 pin, but this is a USA market product and like rocking horse poo to get, as they say lol

First You most like don't need 6 pin version for just audio - standard more common 5 pin will be enough. If I was You - i would start looking for ex-military tank headset's like "Bose Triport Tactical Communication Headset" - if You are lucky - you can get broken one next to nothing since they are out if interest for HAM operators. H250 & other this style handsets will be price since it's iconic look - so just look for stuff that no-one want. I get impression that China get now ability to make clone of those connectors - some times I saw them on alibaba / aliexpres & they don't look like NOS - so i expect they are copying them ( www.alibaba.com/product-detail/headset-connector-military-6-pin-plug_60191223859.html ) - here is example.

@@ElectronicNoobBlog Hi just a quick one, you said audio only is needed, would the PTT on the PRC-152 not also need to be engaged to operate correctly or does this automatically happen when asking for audio?

      Hello,
I can't give You straight answer because i don't have any real military device to play.
In general, i can give You advice:
You need to check if real comtacs use dynamic or condenser microphone.
If condenser it should work out of box, and the only thing is to short A-E pin in plug to disable internal speaker.
If they are dynamic (most often use in army) You need a converter :
This might work but i can't say sure:

Here i found out of box solution:
      www.ebay.com/itm/DIY-Amplify-Parts-for-TRI-PRC-152-Radio-mbitr-silynx-peltor-nacre-crye-devgru/201253228727?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D38530%26meid%3D07dd0c836ce440bdb6e6fc77e189f7d8%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D191012259947
You can check forums, maybe someone who bought this kit could take picture of internal components, then we can draw out schematic of that impedance matching / amplifier and turn it to DIY.
      Regards

why not just purchase the hand mike with a 6pin connector

This is couple years old video, at that point time it was not easy to buy a "not dynamic" with 6pin plug.
All untouched ex army 6pin was dynamic because that is what army radio accept.
