Head down to Oak Tree Road in Edison. 145 Indian restaurants with 46% of the population identifying as Asian Indian. The smells of the food through the area is just amazing.
Little History: Indo Chinese food became famous in india from the 1960s. Its not a new thing at all. It stems from the Chinese community in Calcutta (chinatown), india. Chinese cooks in Calcutta modified their dishes for the indian palette then, and those recipes became very popular among indians. So now, there are like 3 generations of indians who loves Desi (indian) Chinese food 😊
Yes! Back in India Square. I remember your eggmania review. I would ❤ love another buffet review with Rasoi. Or for something different check out Dosa House! So much great stuff to explore on Newark love seeing it back in your rotation!
Hello, great review. Lots of love from New Delhi, India. I appreciate how you managed to eat Indian food in your own style. I would like to clarify a few things for the viewers. Indian curries and vegetable dishes are traditionally eaten with either bread called "Naan" or rice. The spinach potato dish that you tried goes really well with Indian breads. Indo-Chinese food is quite popular in India, especially in northern India. Dishes like Hakka noodles, chili chicken, and momos (dumplings) are something that should be introduced to Western people. I'm looking forward to your upcoming videos. ❤
Also in Alexandria, VA there is this place called Indochen that specializes in Indo Chinese food. It’s really good, a bit more high end than this place.
Nice to see some indian food. I get plenty from some really nice colleages and you can really taste the time and effort that is put into these dishes when done right.
Take the salads/ starters first...finish it and then move on to the main course. Take the roti and rice in one plate, take the curries in another plate...simple
Wow I do remember you from a past video here. Oddly, I had a dream last night that I was at an Indian buffet, which I’ve never been, so maybe it’s a sign. Congrats on your channel’s growth.
Moghul Express in Edison NJ is great and they do Indo-Chinese fusion. The chili garlic fried never disappoints. It’s on Oak Tree Rd in Edison, which is jam packed with Indian restaurants.
You’re the dude we can all relate to. No BS, no hype, your honest take. The Eagles cap is your trademark as well as “why don’t we?….” Can’t imagine watching your food reviews without your trademark hat and comment. Time to review Filipino food.
Refreshing to see an Indian buffet. Looking for more videos in Jersey. I like your recent travel to Denver, hopefully you’ll travel to other parts of the US, such as California or even Florida or maybe the south like Georgia.
Love reading your reviews. It definitely takes me out of my comfort zone! I usually am in a funk with my orders especially when it comes to Indian.... im definitely learning a lot from you! One of my favorite drinks...though... is something called Indian coffee. I forget the actual name but it was sold cold and I first had it at Tandoor Palace in the Poconos (Tannersville, PA) of PA. The reataurant is inside a train car, you have to go UA! ❤
@UA EATS - Your REALLY REALLY need to visit central, NJ (North Brunswick\Iselin for the BEST Indian\Pakistani food!! Better than anything in JC for sure. I'll take you on a tour myself!!
Love Indian! Not a fan of buffets though. I prefer regular, order from the menu. If you are ever in Alexandria, VA try Spice Kraft. They do more of a modern fusion spin on Indian cuisine
Everything looks excellent! It so happens I'm going out for Indian tonight on the UES, now I'm looking forward to it even more! With your love of buffets, come out by me in Queens and check out Mizumi. Excellent spot with a great selection! Thanks for another great review!
Hi UA, do you have any videos where you did not have any negative things to say? In your videos you're always very critical of every place. Have you been somewhere that you had no critique of?
The writer of my curry book always recommended meat on the bone for flavor.I have always loved lamb so I imagine I'd like goat if I ever got to try it.
Rice with peas is called a rice pulao. And usually we start with the breads when they are still warm & have it with the meat curries. Then when the breads are over we then pour everything on the rice & finish it off. And never the breads with rice together.
@samuraidoggy indian chinese food are best. The Chinese community in india has made an unique combination of Chinese traditional food with Indian spices making a new classification sino-india food.
Gajar Ka Halwa is my favorite Indian sweet and that looks like an excellent version. BTW if you're looking for an excellent prix fixe menu, I'd highly suggest the new Muna in Midtown. It's outstanding.
I was stationed in England and discovered Indian food. Over their I think it is more authentic than what you got. My favorite dish is Chicken Vindaloo, and if I remember you from the past that you did not like spicy hot dishes. I loved them and got Indian take away at least once a week. Vegtable Pilau (Probably spelled wrong) went well with Chicken Vindaloo. I tried the hottest dish over in England caledl Chicken Pol which I was able to eat, but only did it once. The fire was over the top. An appetizer I used to get was Onion Bozee(again probably spelled wrong, but got it most every time. Indian food satisfied my desire for Mexican food.
A cross section of eateries is good. Some cheap eats and some better places. If I`m honest I`d prefer less emphasis on steak houses....but that`s because I love seafood, and I believe you are allergic?? Anyway, keep up the good work.
The Indo-Chinese cuisine is mostly due to the migrant population from Manchuria. They had to use many Indian spices and techniques to cook it hence it might have a different taste.
A suggestion: Instead of piling every available dish on the plate in one go, it would look and feel better (visually appealing) if one opts for multiple rounds to sample every dish on offer.
Im indian and take my suggestion for a buffet. Take 2 plates. Put the rotis or naans and rice and noodles in one plate and the curries in another plate. Ask for a bowl for more liquidy gravies. Easier to eat. Dont put all the different dishes on one plate. Have a few and once finished, take your plate and have the other dishes. Thats what i do.
Dude you stuffed your place with many items exactly the way we Indians do in Marriage buffet, you know trying every item in one go with no latter regret of missing any.😀 Also finger involvement is must as a thumb rule while enjoying Indian cuisine.....
hello ua eats, remember you are visiting from the west coast - on the east buffets in jersey are fun to eat - the korean buffets for lunch took from chinese buffet (they are never on the routes in jersey) but found inside those little train stations in new jersey up in bergen county - there are chinese, korean , and japanese buffets or food courts. elle for over rice for dozen
Was there for 2 yrs in NJ and had food in the Indian street but forgot the name of the restaurant. Seems this is the one but Patel cash n carry and the meat shop was visited once every week and the Bangladeshi fish shop in the narrow lane. I don't know if they still exist. Indian food there differs a lot that we get in India.
Indians don't use sanitizers to before eating. We always use bar soup or liquid handwash with water. It's looking like you're consuming sanitizer. I'm sure they have hand wash basin over there.
i personally eat mutton/ goat-meat dishes at end because its more flavour packed. and if you eat it at the begining you start feeling other items like chicken and vegitables boring.
Hi UA, I love all your videos. I could eat the goat curry all day. In my country we eat a lot of curry goats. I don't like butter chicken. I find the sauce too thick. When you use hand sanitizer, you must wash before eating. Just to inform you. Blessings. Love watching your face when you eat.😂😂😂😂😂

It's not "naan bread", it's just naan.
Shit, I always say naan bread, no joke. I'm stopping thank you. Again, not joking.
I say naan bread, and I’ll continue to say it that way👌
so it isn't bread? sure looks like bread to me.
@@chrismemphis8062 I guess the idea is you wouldn't say smoked meat on rye bread, you'd say smoked meat on rye.

Spinach is saag I think
Saag is usually a pureed veg
Yes Spinach is a saag with a name called Palak, Palak Saag in Hindi to be precise. But there's a tons of different saag too. Saag is a general term.
Saag is a broader term....there are multiple kinds of saag including spinach....
All these Indian restaurants have a smoothie-type drink, called Mango Lassi. It's absolutely the best. Hope you get to try it sometime.
Mango+milk+yogurt and sugar.
Rasoi on that same block bangs. The chicken lolipops, chicken makhani, and the gobi manchurian specifically go super hard
