    As a long time Zbrush user, I freaking love nomad sculpt. I love working in the iPad. I love editing photos in Affinity Photo. I love designing logos on IPad Illustrator. And I love editing videos in LumaFusion. iPad has come a long way! Great video!

    Would love to see more on the app and software side. No one is doing that for basic applications. It's either full blown Z-Brush tutorials or nothing. Nice area to move in to for additional videos !

    I just downloaded the trial and played around with it a bit. Then I purchased the full version. Now I realize I'm going to need a stylus to really enhance my abilities with it. My tablet doesn't support active stylus, so I'm looking at buying a new tablet. Damn you Jessy!!!!!! Damn you!!!!!! Lol.

    Question.. When you scanned your head and imported it, did your computer/ program automatically scale it to real world size in 3D space? The mask scaled nicely to your face but getting things to print at actual size is what confuses me. I use a scaling tool when I'm printing minis. Long time listener first time caller lol. Keep up the excellent videos!

    Which would you say is better to clean up a 3d scanned model? Nomad or forger?

  • @henripiper4721
    @henripiper4721 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Overall a good basic presentation but I guess I have to watch the video again because I totally missed any mention of scaling to real world size... I'll assume you scaled/sized your scanned head model and that was your real world reference. A rush provides for
    Precise measurements to scale...if Nomad is any kind of useful for 3D printing it will offer precise export to precise measurements.

    Hi! Great Workflow Video with your *Nomad* *Sculpt* App! Thanks for showing us what a lot of those small mobile app buttons mean and do! I read maybe 12 comments below and didn't see my answer, so I'm back up top here. You didn't address the big woolly mammath/elephant in the room question about the *polygon* *count* b4 you sent it to your 3D printer. Was your download Mortal Kombat - looking face Mask already at a low Polygon Count to send thru the printer's pipeline or did you re-mesh everything to a lower poly count once you were satisfied with your Custom Mask Adjustments?

    • @pyraffin

      I know this is kinda late but from what I've seen, for beginners FDM printers are better than resin. Resin is more expensive and requires extra steps like cleaning/curing so it's not something really to start with.
      Though, depends what you want to do. Detailed miniatures/statues are better on resin, but cosplay peices/bigger prints are better on FDM

  • @galliss
    @galliss 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just subscribed to the channel. Wanna say love what you’re doing. I do have a question...do you prefer resin or fdm 3D printers?

    • @UncleJessy
      @UncleJessy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey there! Thanks for subbing. It really depends on what you want to print. Resin printers are great for really detailed prints (typically smaller)... and resin costs a good amount.
      Fdm printers typically have a much larger build volume but the details arnt as crisp. Still pretty amazing and the cost of the filaments are typically cheaper and go further.
      If you want to do cosplay stuff. Start FDM. If you want to print miniatures/little statues etc. Resin is the way to go

    For a person who has no experience in the field of 3d sculpture, on IPAD is Nomad or Forger 3d better?

      I’ve used forger for years but nomad offers many more features by faaaar. The tools are easy to use, light paths is very easy, and has a customizable interface. It’s all around more professional and the closest I’ve gotten to a computer 3D model program. It also makes painting the sculpts a lot easier. The only way forger is better is that you can export 3D turntables for preview but getting those renders is a bit more tricky with forger. Good luck with your 3D journey!

      If your support connections are thin enough you can just wiggle and break them off. If that won't work I'd suggest cutting them off with nippers/flush cutters, but don't cut them too close and then use a rotary tool like a Dremel to smooth out the nub. You can find rotary tools for under $20. Otherwise just sand or file the nub down. Needle files are great for getting into tight places.
