Not long ago, because of this fact LOL, I went out and bought some colorful feathers, some string and got an empty box from my grocery store, taping the box shut, I cut out window holes and a door in the box, then attached the feathers to the box with the string, some dangling on the outside as well as inside and voila cat fun and human entertainment for hours ^.^

I really love the door tree idea, but I feel like it's only good if you truly are limited in space in a small apartment. I have a large apartment, and based on the price for it (I found it online for $80 including shipping), I would rather take that money and put it to an actual cat tree or into a fund to build a wall tree that goes to the ceiling for my cats.

My cat likes cardboards boxes w a pillow, towel or blanket. Not buying some fancy more expensive stuff. Stack them, put one on side for a step, clip together w a binder clip and my cat can look out the window

That last one, better remember you put the kitty condo in back of that door, or else one day you'll come home and poor miss Kitty will experience an earth quake.
I think that was intended for a door that doesn't get as much use as a front or back door would. Since I think the straps would be exposed to the outdoors since this item straps over and under the door. Some jerk that may or may not know what it is and cut the straps, then comes down kitty{ies} condo and all. So definitely would not put this on any door that leads outside.
