  • Emirates has apologised to its customers for the cancellations and delays they experienced following record rainfall and storms in the UAE. Meanwhile, Transavia could leave Amsterdam Schiphol and the broader Netherlands as protective restrictions limit flight activity from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. Lastly, British Airways has relaunched its service between London and Abu Dhabi, with daily flights operated by the 787 Dreamliner.

    I got stuck in Dublin Emirates wouldn’t let me board the flight because I had a stopover in Dubai. The communication from Emirates was extremely poor. Couldn’t call them or speak to anyone, I was lucky I booked through an agent and was able to get on a flight 30 hours later. They wouldn’t rebook on another airline

    Let me guess: a bunch of people bought cheap houses near the airport then started lobbying for limiting the noise on their houses so that their value increases? Pathetic

    Gatwick does not ban aircraft, they put quotas on and distance the aircraft out, they also have a curfew on anything over QC4. Maybe something Schiphol could look at as a model.

    I don’t think I would want to take any flight, arriving between the hours or departing between the hours of midnight and 6 AM. I was forced to catch a flight departing Santiago Chile at midnight, which ultimately didn’t leave till 2:30 in the morning and it was absolutely miserable.

    Why can’t they not propose a night ban in AMS for all planes that are not the latest quiet generation, read the Airbus 320/321 NEO or B737 Max 8 and 9. Transavia is just getting the 321NEO and could use those at night.

    I've never understood why airlines, or companies in general, feel like they need to apologize for things like the weather and other things that are way beyond their control. It's like the railways apologizing for two feet of snow falling on their rails. If they're customers don't understand, that's on them. Clark's "sincere apologies" are idiotic.

    BS Emirates, how could they not look after 30k plus bags. The bags will be at airports, and Emirates has staff at these airports.. I'll never trust Emirates as Emirates should have had a plan if an airport closed.

    Airports are always built out in the middle of nowhere, and then people move in and around them then start to complain, if you don’t like airplanes or airplane noise, don’t move next to an airport. I’m not much for new laws, but if you live within 10 miles of an airport and complain. You should be fined. By the way, I live in the flight path of a major Air Force Base, and I actually gave the commander my coordinates as a turning point for his aircraft , they come in fast and sometimes low and slow, and I love it.

    Transavia can't leave the Dutch market! They're Dutch themselves

    • @grahambaker6664
      @grahambaker6664 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Transavia will not be leaving the Dutch market. They have hubs at Rotterdam and Eindhoven plus they use Groningen. Rotterdam is as close to Amsterdam as some other cities primary airports but The Netherlands government needs to improve access to Rotterdam Airport from central Amsterdam and Schiphol so it can relieve pressure on Schiphol. With a good high speed rail link from Rotterdam Airport to Amsterdam Central it would be as quick to fly into Rotterdam due to shorter taxi times and less walking distance at Rotterdam in comparison with Schiphol. They also need to provide incentives for cargo to move from Schiphol to Eindhoven and Maastricht airports, and upgrade Groningen Airport and its access so it can take more flights, particularly from LCCs, as it would be no more inconvenient than Hahn or Beauvais.

    Tim Clark may have apologized, but that is to be expected. It does show that he is, perhaps, OVERRATED??? a CEO for nice weather conditions, but absolutely terrible in emergencies. and he thinks he can criticize others left and right because, he thinks, he occupies a lofty position above everybody else.

    • @howlr747

      Easily. Don't get caught up in the ridiculous hype now. Boeings are as good as the opposition. All that matters is buying Boeing or Airbus to fulfil the exact requirements.
