The moment where Weiss stopped for a moment to wonder if she was allowed to arrest someone was such a noob thing and I love it. Really kinda hammers the point of how she's still new to it. Just a very pure moment of rushing in and going "I'm doing this! ...Wait, can I do that?" It's so good.
If you remember, Neo had the same black hair (tied into pigtails) and green eyes, in Emerald's flashback to her fight in the tournament, when Ruby asked her about her team mates.
I notice that too, but you beat me in commenting.
The moment the pink clip was mentioned as a tell for Neo, I recalled a bit of lore about another master of disguise, who could always be detected by the presence of a red colour in any form he took.
And then I remembered that there was a time his mouth was sewn shut.
Neo isn't meant to be Loki, of course. I would still love to see her and Nora paired in RWBY Chibi sketches playing on the Norse dynamic.
I'm going to be pedantic and say that the attacker was based on pterosaurs in general, rather than the pterodactyl. The wingspan was larger than that of a pterosaur, for example, and it had the kind of long tail associated with the smaller rhamphorhynchus. The point I'm trying to make is: That was a pterrifying design.
It looked like a cross between a Velociraptor and a Pterosaur. It looked closer to a true Dragon then Kevin did. It had four legs and wings! lol Kevin was just a Wyvern.
The first thing Oscar said to Ruby was "Woah... you... have silver eyes." so that parallel already exists in canon lol

I think i was the one who mentioned the Willow name thing.
What I like is you can see Mint hanging around the council meeting last chapter and Winter even bumps into her when she storms out.
Also really like the camera work here. Before this point we see Jacques from a high angle or always looking down at the camera. This was really the first time we and the characters are looking down at Mr. Clip On Tie instead.
Great chapter and reaction .. it’s setting up some great stuff for a chaotic ending to the volume.
It's easy to see that it wasn't just Oscar who was talking about Ozpin's memories :|
This Volume has been the best so far.

Cinder and Neo in Volume 6 made an agreement to kill Ruby so it has nothing to do with the Winter Maiden
Winter has so much respect for Ruby. Far cry from saying how underwhelming she looked.

I always found Ruby and Oscar ship a bit creepy as Oscar will eventually be subsumed by Ozpin.
If Weiss summoned the bee it would be summoned inside the Manta ship and somebody would have to open the door which they can't do because it is not stable ground meaning they cant fully stand up while the Manta Ship was being hit by that Grimm
I can be okay with Ruby and Oscar being a thing but like... that gets hella creepy if he does eventually become ozpin.

Justin Deliwe and honestly I agree with them he’s just a coward looking for ways to get/make money not to mention hes very manipulative and very Abbusive to his own family...so I don’t blame her for making a fuss 👏
Having Ruby with Oscar is wrong. Remember Oscar has Oz in his mind and is his reincarnation. That's is like going out with someone as old as your dad.
Should Oscar stay celibate his entire life? Because the age difference between Ozma and Ruby is almost the same as between Ozma and Maria at this point.

1. Oscar has his entire life to meet someone.
2. Ozma's soul is thousands of years old. Rosegarden is like a girl dating a father figure if her father figure was actually a combination of men, the first of whom was born back in ancient Greece.
I was disappointed that Ruby wasn't the one to tell Ironwood. I really wanted to see that and it's result.
But because Oscar did it, it seems Ruby gets off without having to face Ironwood's response to her deception or suffer any consequences.
(Likewise Yang and Blake for revealing top secret military information about Amity to basically a rebel terrorist.)
I guess the theme continues.

Ironwood's response to the news about Salem being a literal 'Die Hard' was also somewhat lackluster. In light of his reaction to all the other troubling news, I though this would be the biggest blow to his psyche. Instead we just got a "Keep hope alive" and "No more surprises ok Oscar?"
Just my opinion. Perhaps I built myself up too much for a big dramatic moment.
I wish they could have shown something of how Cinder and Neo were able to make it into Atlas. Let alone onto the Schnee mansion hospitality staff. Just a nitpick that's gnawing at me, but having a disguised ship should not have been enough to get them this far. I was hoping they wouldn't just drop Cinder and Neo in out of nowhere but, here they are.
I honestly did not expect to see them this volume.
While I very much enjoyed Jacques getting his due, I felt he went down a little too easily, quickly. He literally just got elected. What, maybe a day or two? I really expected another episode or two to see him twist as his world comes crashing down around him as evidence is discovered. I guess they probably had to get him out of the way as secondary villain to make room for Cinder.
The Ruby and Oscar ship tease? While cute (In about 4 more years and if Oz is purged from his head), felt out of place. To stick that scene in the middle of what should have been a critical, high urgency moment sort of broke the flow for me. (Even Marrow found it out of place.) There is a time an a place for that kind of thing. (Too much in this volume). This wasn't it.
All said, I feel like this episode, while good, was rushed. Like an episode or two was skipped over. This episode would have made a great volume ending cliff hanger.
This is starting to confirm a feeling I have that RT is looking to close out RWBY sooner than expected. Possibly due to all the financial and other turmoil going on behind the scenes.

I don’t see why Ironwoods response to the news would be different with Ruby than Oscar. I honestly couldn’t see him going crazy after learning about Salem, he was stressed tf out but he wasn’t really that crazy. He’s a General and a leader, he can’t fold, especially at a time like this. Just listen to the information, process it, and move on from there. Plus, it was a good way to show how much Oscar is slowly changing.
And with Jacques, he’s just a rich, slimy guy. All he wanted was to win the election, he didn’t see all this happening. Watts has no reason to tell him anything about what he plans to do with the access and Jacques didn’t care as long as he won. He knew he was caught and because he didn’t plan for that possibility he faltered and tried to run. I just can’t imagine any other response from him. It’s not like he’s a genius, he’s just a business man who got played with like a puppet.
It didn’t feel rushed to me but to each there own. But RT definitely aren’t rushing the series, they’ve already said they know exactly how the story ends based on Monty’s notes, they just have to fill in the gaps that lead to it. According to them the whole show could be at least 12 volumes, maybe 13 if they stretched it out some more. If RT wants them to rush RWBY I don’t think CRWBY knows about it, I don’t really see it. The way they talk about it is like it’s not ending any time soon. But they do have an ending so I’m satisfied with that
@@amransom26 Yes, Ironwood is a seasoned general. However, as depicted he did fold, or was folding before Oscar initally talked to him about getting back on track. He looked like he had all but given up and this was before the Salem revelation. That's why I expected more of a reaction from him given the weight of the new info. Also, the whole trust theme seem to be built up over the volume so far and Ruby's deception seemed like a looming storm cloud just waiting to down pour. At least that's how I felt. I guess I was just looking for more.
And your right, the way they played Ironwood's reaction to the news about Salem, I guess it wouldn't have mattered if Ruby told him. Despite all the trust issues I guess he would have just patted her on the head and told her 'Good call Ruby, for not trusting or telling me about Salem earlier'. That's just how it looks like that would have went now based on his reaction with Oscar telling him.
I can't be the only one who wanted to see Ironwood's reaction to Ruby in person when the news was revealed. ;)
As for Jacques, it just seemed his downfall was too instant. All the peices implicating Jacques came together in shot. In half an episode he went from king of the hill, apparently holding all the cards, to a disgraced criminal taken away in handcuffs.
Just a personal preference I guess. I wanted to see Jacques suffer a little bit more as it became more apparent what Watts was doing.
I too had heard early on in the series that Monty had a frame work for the series that took it to 12 volumes. Split up into 4 story arcs of 3 volumes each. That each arc would generally be centered in a kingom.
1 thru 3 in Vale.
4 thru 6 in Mistral.
7 thru 9 in Atlas.
10 - 12 in Vacuo.
Technically we just started the 3rd story arc.
However, with recent news that RT only greenlit the production of Volumes 8 & 9, I got the impression that they may try to hurry things along in order to wrap things up neatly.
Perhaps RT is waiting to see if things improve in the company within the next year or so before approval of additional volumes. I don't know. I was going by what I thought I heard early on. I could be very wrong. However, if that is the case and RT is looking to closeout RWBY ahead of schedule, then that might mean a more rushed approach to the story telling, which would be unfortunate.

Edit: mainly saying this because Cinder is all about having power. Watts is someone who constantly criticizes her and looks down at her.

that's why I'm so glad that's not how that works, at least based on the evidence in the show, cause yeah if the merge meant Oscar being "taken over" by Ozpin then them ending up together would be creepy, but Rosegarden shippers aren't shipping her with Ozpin, the ship is just her and Oscar
