I think Hornel canned chile is the one that should be insulted for being compared to that. You bet! Here everything's better! Lol Sometimes I go to the local High school's football games just to buy their concession stand frito pie or chili cheese dogs! One of the cafeteria ladies makes the chili for them, so good.
out of all the great cuisine we have here in NM we were mad at bourdain for a gas station fastfood meal? at least let it be allsups burritos we go out on a limb for.... No we apologize Senor Bourdain. RIP....
Let me get this straight...he gave them more business, featured them on HIS show, gave the food a generally favorable review (overall). Yet there was pressure on him to apologize for pointing out a flaw in this "cuisine"? Its just chili & cheese poured over heavily processed corn chips....It looks like shit and it's terribly unhealthy for you. He was far from a superstar chef. He was just a chef at a small place in NY that (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) wasn't anything special. It was his book that put him on the track to television.
There's nothing wrong with canned chili. Like most canned foods they are not meant to be eating straight from the can. Most foods from a can need to be prepared and enhanced before eaten.
@@scootcha I generally don't eat out. My wife cooks everyday. We may eat at a restaurant when we're traveling by motorcycle but even then we usually rent a cabin or a suite with kitchen. But to answer your question. Unless you only dine at five star restaurants, all restaurants serve some portion of canned or frozen foods. For example do you eat green beans at a restaurant? It'll be a safe bet there canned.
It's hyperbole. It's mass produced corn chips, processed cheese, and if he were to say gourmet homemade chili it wouldn't be funny. I bet he got some of that good heroin from Albuquerque

that chili looks really gross to be honest. the point is, he didn't like it, and i don't blame him.
