They don't make them like they used to. Frank Sinatra was such a smooth crooner. This is before auto tuning. Artists had to be really able to sing. And the lyrics were clean, romantic & really meant something. He has a huge library of great songs. Some of my favorites are "Fly Me To The Moon", "New York, New York", "Strangers In The Night", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "That's Life", "My Kind Of Town", "Summer Wind" etc. And he did a duet with his daughter Nancy called "Something Stupid" in 1967.

You should hear the duet he did with Elvis. He would sing a peace of heartbreak hotel and Elvis would sing Witchcraft. It was awesome!

Great reaction Sarah! This song has a special place in my heart since it was one of my dad’s favorites. I played it for him while he was in the hospital. He was pretty out of due to the morphine drip, but I like to think that he heard Frank’s every word. My dad passed later that night. ❤

Great reaction. I had the pleasure to see him live in Atlanta, Georgia in one of his last tours. He was quite old and had huge monitors so he could read the words of the songs. His emcee of the show was the comedian Don Rickles , wow he still had the voice and it was a great show. He was a member of the famous 'Rat Pack'.

Yes, Miss Sarah, Frank Sinatra was the original singer of this. He had quite a voice. He could sing the phone book and it would be beautiful.
His daughter, Nancy Sinatra tried her hand at singing for several years, but never had the success her dad had. But if you want a fun song to watch and listen to, try Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots are Made for Walking." It's a fun look at fhe 60's ...lyricis, the dancing and go-go boots and all.
This was a wonderfully beautiful reaction, Miss Sarah. Thank you!

Sinatra was my mother's favorite singer and he was over 50 when he recorded this song. He just kept going years and years afterward with that fabulous voice. My 2 favorite Christmas albums are by him, some sultry, dreamy, and some loaded with fun. One of his best friends was Sammy Davis, Jr. who recorded "What Kind of Fool Am I" which is the best version of the song, in my opinion. I'd give it a listen when you get the chance. They were both part of "The Rat Pack" which were a group of entertainers who were close, close friends. When they got together to entertain in Vegas or on TV it was like a room full of crazies. They were so darned funny. Anyway, thank you for being of part of bringing back the legacies of those greats of yesterday.

Frank Sinatra “it was a very good year” is an even more soul touching performance from the same time. Remarkably the version available to react to on you tube is a video recording of him singing the actual studio version and the most chilling thing is his incredible expressions and mannerisms he displays during the performance. So you must listen to Ella Fitzgerald who was an American jazz singer, sometimes referred to as the "First Lady of Song", "Queen of Jazz", and "Lady Ella". The same time period as this Frank Sinatra video. You must watch this video of her performing "Summertime" Ella Fitzgerald - Summertime (1968)in Berlin, th-cam.com/video/u2bigf337aU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jgL_5rFVn03FQ2Vi Be a great reaction video.

There aren't any now, but in the past popular music had some GREAT voices, and Frank's was the greatest of them all in my opinion. Those who witnessed both arrivals say Sinatra Mania was every bit as intense as Beatlemania, if not moreso. It's not just his voice, it's his way of phrasing the lines to bring out their true meanings, a trait i identified for myself before i ever heard or read others commenting on the same. Check out his other songs, you'll be richly rewarded.

To me this is the best version, with the soft ending rather than the big operatic finish. Frank actually did not like the song because he thought it was too self serving, self centered...but he had a big hit out of it, and always did it for the fans in concert. My dad always sang this around the house, incomplete. Brother and I would chuckle, "there he goes again." now, they are both gone, also mother, so wish I could hear him sing it again, and hear my younger brother snicker. I sing in senior homes and always include this song in memory of dad.
