Nissan Maxima P0746 Transmission Problems: Solenoid A Stuck Off

  • A very common problem in these cars- P0746 solenoid stuck shut! These solenoids can be easily replaced and will fix your problem WITHOUT replacing the transmission! MOST of the time when you have THIS CODE worst case worst case scenario is replacing the valve body that runs about $150. solenoids alone are much cheaper! this of course is so long as you dont have the exploded multi layer steel belt or various other problems these transmissions have. Best way to tell is to drop the transmission pan. follow me on my journey its..... interesting lol

    It would be the same for the Nissan Murano? Mine is a 2007 I bought it and PO746 code came up on the way home . They told me I needed a transmission as well. I found the solenoid online, is it the valve body?

    The ford fiesta has a dual clutch transmission not a cvt, I have had much success repairing the dct transmissions in the focus and fiesta unlike the altimas cvt, I have come to a realization that if it has internal cvt problems your only option is replace the transmission. I get stuck working on them ALOT being that I run a auto mechanic business.

    @user-sr5vs4tr9j ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That transmission shop wasn't trying to 'take you' for 4 grand. You showed up, without the car, and he told you what it would cost to replace the transmission. Yes those cars had major problems with them. Yes you can do anything cheaper if you do it yourself.

    • @xlr8auto1
      @xlr8auto1  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      He could have mentioned that the valve body and or solenoids were a major known problem and would be 1/4 the cost instead of jumping straight to needing a transmission.

    • @anthonybotonis5841
      @anthonybotonis5841 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You need to understand that the valve body is not the only issue with the car, and if he does a vale body and you still have issues then he took your money for nothing and your still in the same boat... there isn't a professional trans shop in the world who would repair that cause they know the consequences.. as a DIY cou can try and hopefully save some money by replacing common fault parts and only hope it will solve your issues and from experience it's less than 50% of the time... so go for it cause it could be worthwhile but dot have a go at an auto shop with so much experience for telling you what should be said to you.

      I took it to a transmission place and they said $4,600 to replace the transmission. They didn't do any real diagnostic so I didn't trust the place.
