- Soooo..... Yes, I have the worst case scenario... My MLS belt is exploded. No transmission shop will touch it. They all say when its to this point it has to be replaced. Watch the video to see what this looks like. Im at a pause with this car for now until i talk myself into either putting to much money in it, finding a deal or selling as is. p0746

That's definitely bad. Looks like the metal bands that keep the segmented drive belt together totally shredded. A new CVT is the fix.
Unfortunately, and would have put me in the car more then its worth so I sold it as is.
Can you tell me which one is solenoid a im having the same problem with mine p0746
I have the same problem mine is a bad valve body but that is definitely pieces of the metal belt but you can definitely get a used transmission for like 1200-1700
yeah, just put me in the car more then it was worth.
Take the transmission out and you can replace the belt but you may need to buy a rebuild kit or go ahead and buy a rebuilt transmission because they replace the steel belt and the clutch packs and the seals and bearings. That same thing happend to mine. I had a code scanner tool to reset the codes and kinda drive normal to a dealership and bought another car
Best thing you can do is never buy the nissan in the first place lol
This shit is driving me crazy
Good video. definitely needs a replacement but surprisingly the drive bet looks in tack.
Yes it was still partially intact.
What did you end up doing with the maxima? Theres no other videos of the update???
I had someone make an offer as it was, sold it as is.
I had this same problem after a long road trip. The rpm kept fluctuating and would hesitate on throttle. I heard a loud grinding and and bump but it's still drove for a while. Safe to say the belt is gone?
unfortunately that is most likely scenario. I would go ahead and tear it apart and look at it to make sure. worst case scenario you put it back together put same fluid back in it and you are back where you started but out no money and know exactly what the problem is.
How much did you pay for that valve body? On Ebay?
It’s in the video, maybe the first one. I don’t recall but I believe it was around $200.
Is that belt always broken with the p0746 code?
No, absolutely not. Just us unlucky people.
What year? Mileage?
2011, with 217,000 miles.
Which one of the solenoid p0746
Im pretty sure I point this out in the video, but if not I honestly cant remember off the top of my head, its been a while. The best idea is to replace all of them anyways as they are hard to get to, and cheap to order.
@@xlr8auto1 from where i can order i have this code too
@@adiljutt4332 sorry to hear that. Best place is Ebay, someone with great reviews.
P0746 is this solenoid valve body problems ? Or belt got to be changed ?
Damn $300 I got my valve body off eBay for 150
yes, they have went down a lot, at that time it was the cheapest.
Is this a maxima?
yes its a maxima.
