Great video! Thanks! blew out my front tire by braking too hard in the dirt 2 weeks ago. I was being stoopid trying to show off on video. $95 mistake, lol, having to have my DRZ towed back home. So, moral of the story is to install a rim lock for both tires.
For the front tire, I'm going to install the rim lock "in front of the valve stem" if that makes sense.. Just imagine what happens when you brake really hard and the wheel spins slower than the tire. Not good! Same result. Shaved valve stem.
I was surprised it happened of course.
One tip I heard about is to not tighten the valve stem all the way down to allow for a little slippage. That may have saved me having a bad day. But the best thing to do is to just install rim locks. Buy a heavy duty inner tube too..
Also, you'll need a valve stem remover, tire irons and a bead buddy really helps.

Im gana get mine pretty soon I decided to go with the hawk 250 for simple reasons I grew up on all kinds of dirt bikes and have had a ninja250 as well and around 3 years after i got that i decided to get a 600cc sport bike and had it for a few years liked it alot but I decided in the end to use it as a down payment trade in for a car I liked and had always wanted it was soooo worth it I got a 05 mustang gt its black and a 5 speed cant tell you how much fun that car is i have a 11 V8 silverado as well but wanted the car for me and the wife to drive and play with but yea I pretty much decided I wanted to get a hawk cause i have watched your videos and alot of moto cheeze and a few other people and i felt that a hawk would be best for my needs just something to learn to work on a bit and upgrade cheaply and use for putting around town and goin to the lake to fish or metal detect or magnet fish and also when the time comes for me to get a bigger dual sport id use the hawk to teach my wife how to drive so she is well prepared for the msf course and will be able to use the hawk as her own bike to better her riding skills when I upgrade to another bigger dual sport

easier to put the beadlock in Last, just lift the Lip of the tire, wedge something in to hold it wide open, and slip the Beadlock in, bolt it down.

Hello, great video. Can I use premium motocross wheels off another dirtbike on the hawk? I want high quality alloy wheels. What kind, or size would I have to look for? I'm pretty sure it's a 19 rear and 21" front rim.

It doesnt matter as long as they fit on the bearing and theres minimal space when you slide your axel through (big long bolt that goes through the tire). Fork spacing could be an issue however. Perhaps different spacers
