Raspberry Pi Pico W is having a micropython code. It works in a local WiFi network. The operating range of this device is approximately 30 meters. It can be used in home and industrial automation. The device always works with static ip address. User simply needs to connect with the specific network name and open android app which has preconfigured setting of IP and Port. We can use this device to control eight relays. We can thus control eight electrical appliances.
There is a significant advantage of using SoftAP mode because a network router is not required. By setting the Raspberry Pi Pico W board as an Access point, we are basically setting it up as a hotspot. Thus, we can connect all the devices which are supported by Wi-Fi without even the router. All the Wi-Fi supported devices which are nearby including cell phone, laptop or your personal computer (PC) will be able to connect with our board. We can also make this as IoT based project application by simply changing program code properly and using platforms like IO Adafruit, Blink, MQTT Dash etc.
