I had the same problem with an OEM puller on a 97 F250. Luckily there was a dealership mechanic across the street that had the right puller and it wasn't oem. I forgot what he said the right one was.
Yeah it’s strange, I’ve never seen a pulley look like that, it literally looked like it was welded at home, who knows. @@hillstreet4698 sorry, I’m afraid I don’t. Are you sure they’re looking it up under the correct engine? Do you have the proper pulleys/brackets for your accessories? Just trying to think because they should have one no problem. You could always place your pump in the middle of the adjustment range then take something like a power cord Ian’s wrap it around and mark where the ends meet being sure that you pulled the slack out before marking it, then remove it and measure the marks to see how long of a belt you need then just buy that length. Am currently upgrading the steering gear on my 74 for one from a 79. I was wondering if I could use the same old pump or if I would have to upgrade to a 79 and if so would it fit on the bracket?
Greetings, I’m not 100% sure right off the top of my head but most all those old ford engines ran between 180 to 200. I wouldn’t want it going any higher than 210 on a hot summer day. You can get different thermostats like 160,180,195,etc. I’d start with the 180 and see how it performs. There’s several different factors to include, like how much compression your motor has, the camshaft, has it been bored over, all these things make differences on how it runs vs stock. I’m trying to remove the AC from my 71 f100 truck. It has a 360. For me, the PS bracket sits on top of the AC compressor bracket, so I have to remove PS first before I can take the AC off.
@@KIVPush on my 65 Galaxie the ac compressor was attached to the bracket by 4 bolts on the bottom side. I was able to get to it. I also removed my ps pump and brackets to rebuild that since I had a leak in it. Wasn't bad taking everything off. Cleaning everything up and painting the new Edelbrock water pump and brackets. Took it on a 800 mile trip to the nsra Nationals in Louisville and ran and drove very nice. Love my Galaxie
@@mmsq7029 unfortunately it sounds to me like you got a rod knocking. The only way to fix that is to pull the engine and rebuild it. Sorry for the bad news, good thing is though now you can build it the way you want it.
