      Ron has pointed out I didn't use the "button". It's a tip that goes into the jackshaft and would be very important especially if the diameter of the jackshaft is bigger than the hole in the pully. He explains this in his video, you can watch it here! th-cam.com/video/mLs-b9eInuw/w-d-xo.html

    How did you know the pulley was installed all the way? What do you mean it will extract itself?

  • @feelvivek
    @feelvivek หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hey there.. I noticed the pulley is pressed in further in the new pump's shaft... did you experience any misalignment on the belt ?

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  หลายเดือนก่อน

      My guess is in this video, the new pump shaft may have been a tad bit longer. As long as the pulley is seated, it will be where it needs to be. And I'm still using the same pump on the truck, no issues. (Knock on wood).

    • @feelvivek
      @feelvivek หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@1D10CRACY Hey thats great! I ran into the same issue as well but ran V-belts which I assume are more forgiving. I found that the new reman pump's shaft was 0.001" smaller than the old one which caused the pulley to sit in deeper. I am guessing the reman process machined down the shaft just a hair.

    If the pulley already broke off, will I still be able to install using the provided screw and installation instructions? The removal process with the tool kit doesn't thread the inside to then be used for installation does it? Can I do installation only without worrying about the threads inside matching the screw?

    I have a 1997 Ford f150 I replaced my power steering pump. When I'm putting my pulley back on how do I know how far back to tighten the pulley. All the other videos say to match up to the old pump. The old pump the power steering broad was not flush with the pulley it set back just about an eighth. So I tried to match that and now power steering pump is squeaking really bad!

    • @mrg466
      @mrg466 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@1D10CRACY Hello, the bolts that are in the kit. My directions say to take the one bolt (the main puller bolt) and tread it though the one piece, then it says to use the small plug or # 9 or 7 and to put a (unknown end into the main puller bolt, and the other end is to go into the pulley. But it doesn't say which end is suppose to go in the pulley or which end is to go into the main pulley bolt. So far, I got no where! Also, is seems to be impossible to remove from the steering pump, when it's already attached to the car. I can't even replace the line, because when they designed these things, there no room to even place the wrench anywhere! The designers are idiots!

      I'n my experience, I'd be surprised if a pickle fork would work for this app. It's a tough removal even with the puller. On some of these the there's no room behind the pulley to start the pf.
