My next Gauntlet challenge! I hope you enjoy! This one was sort of difficult to document due to how long/tedious the training process was, so I hope it turned out alright! I only gained experience using the move Metronome, which randomly selects almost any move. It was a doozy.
At the end of the day, it seems RNG was on my side. I failed to mention this at the end: 18.5 selfdestructive moves were used, the .5 coming from the Transform as seen in the video - เกม

It stands for beats per minute. AKA, its what an actual metronome tracks. That's the "tik tik tik" sound at the start of the video.
Speaking of tedious Metronome challenges, I made one.
I call it Pokemon Metronome Dungeon.
It can only be done in Explorers of Time and Darkness. (Sky doesn't count because you can't be this Pokemon through the main story.)
1. Become Munchlax
2. Only use Metronome. Out of PP and PP restoring items? Your partner is a meat or veggie shield.
3. Partner out of PP and you still have no healing items? Well, if you have reviver seeds, get KO'd. If not, regular attacks are permitted.
4. You have to play the entire game like this. From Chapter 1 to 20. For the post-game, once you and your partner can evolve, the challenge is finished.
I got pretty far but I got really good TMs and my luck was so great.

I got insanely lucky my first play through on fire red, I encountered a chansey, caught it on the first ball, and it was holding a lucky egg.

Watching this series again and I had a thought - what is the most efficient way of raising a Pokémon to level 100? You've done so many hilarious and completely non-efficient methods, it would actually be really interesting to see an episode of this gauntlet as like... What an actual sensible path to 100 might be!(I'm sure many people have done tutorials but your videos are never tutorials they're experiences, and it would be interesting to see what you've learned from the gauntlet and how that changes your approach to normal level grinding.
(Commenting on a very old video because I'm re watching the series again, I realise you may not see this though!)
Probably the most efficient method(or at least quickest) is to catch/hatch the Pokémon, make a U-Turn to your bag, and stuff it’s face full of -drugs- rare candies.

Losing the Shiny Nidorino feels even worse when you remember that when GF finally came to their senses and made the Safari Zone less of a pain in the RNG, everybody hated it. So many people complain about ORAS's being "just normal encounters" when that's exactly what makes it the best Safari Zone we've ever had.

I tried to hunt Lucky Egg on Leaf Green like a decade ago, but I never succeeded. I think I captured about 40 Chansey in total before just giving up, also encountering and losing a shiny Venomoth in the progress. Bad times.
Too bad man, I 'cheated' by using 4 copies of firered and 4 gameboy avance sp's
got 61 chanseys in total with about 3 hours of catching, getting that Lucky egg is like winning the lottery
76 chanseys caught before I got one , makes it hard to believe

My first level 100 was my first pokemon ever, piplup, the only one I remember from my diamond team. It evolved to an Empoleon around the elite four and, thanks to it, and a well timed surf, I was able to defeat Cynthia

The stats of that Ursaring at the end... Man. I know it has Calm as a nature, but it's Speed is really not far off it's Attack - must have pretty much maxed out Speed IVs and minimal Atk.

I was doing a shinylocke in let's go pikachu, and I just got my second shiny of the run, my shiny clefable. In the first fight with jesse and James my clefable used metronome and got self destruct, killing both my clefable and my beedrill (beedrill was my other shiny) and I haven't been able to even look at the game since.
Finding Chansey in the safari zone in FireRed and LeafGreen is one of the most tedious things I have ever done... I have seen a lot of Chansey and only caught 10, I happen to find a shiny Nidoran male before and caught it, I don’t shiny hunt or anything, I just rely on luck. Catching Chansey has a much better odds than a shiny does.
