- After completing the grueling Professor Oak's Challenge in Gold and Silver, you all wanted to see me continue the series and take on the 3rd generation. Today we're going to see how easily you can complete Professor Oak's Challenge in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. And seems even the writers of the anime made that mistake. In the anime the red orb controlled Kyogre and the blue orb controlled groudon
I always thought it was because Kyogre had the red veins and Groudon had the blue ones signifying how ancient they are so the red orb reacts with whatever power is coursing through Kyogre's red veins and vice versa for Groudon
yeah, it has to do with the veins, notice how pikachu got red veins after he absorbed the blue orb

Of all the things that amazed me, the "Each Pokemon underwater has a 5% chance to hold a shard of each respective colour" was something I never knew as a kid. Super nice re-living these games. It feels like I'm re-playing the game in each of these videos, but instead of having to see a playthrough of 20 hours, I see and learn a lot more within a fraction of the time. Your vids are truly something special and I thank you for all the effort.

I knew that feeling well......at least until my Y where I encountered a shiny chingling and roggenrola literally 20 mins apart for each other. Then years later replayed emerald and got a shiny poochyena and linoone before Fortree city
to be fair, hes grinding EVERY pokemon in the game, way more encounters than average

the only shiny i got outside of the static shiny in gold/silver/crystal , hg/ss, and black2/wihite2 was a shiny magicarp in dragons den in my copy of crystal, and in my first playtrough of pokemon ruby i got a shiny ryhorn in safari zone

Friendship evolutions aren't that difficult. Gible isn't difficult what so ever either. Eeveelutions are annoying as you have to get all the Eevees. And munchlax just takes for fucking ever.

John said that Johto was only the second hardest game. I'm guessing Sinnoh is the hardest, although maybe Gen 5 due to the sheer amount of available Pokémon and EXP changes based on level.

Snorlax, Vespiquen, Spiritomb, Milotic, Garchomp, Eeveelutions, Lake Trio, Cresselia, Legendary Birds, Giratina, Heatran. Yeah, by far gonna be the hardest games.
I had no clue that you could play around with the order of gyms like this..
Be careful you can softlock if you do them in a certain order I know cause I've done it I had to reset my save which had a shiny pooch cause I couldn't progress

You're probably going to be waiting a while on that one. Generation IV is super time consuming... I know Chaotic Meatball is doing HG/SS right now. Personally as someone who's doing that Generation myself, you could probably get 3 other games done in the time it'd even take to get started on HG/SS.

You inspired me to begin doing my own professor oak’s challenge runs and today I completed my sapphire run with a time of 89:43. It was surprisingly fun (except hunting feebas, that was tedious af). Thank you for getting me into these challenges and keep up the good work.
You should put the number of badges you have in that empty space above the Pokedex Total. I'm not sure about everyone else but I lose track of how many you have.

there's a water stone in the capsized ship (whatever it's called) between slateport and dewford, so you could have evolved lombre a lot earlier
I think one needs dive for that
No you just need to surf east,if you see a boat go to there then go to the room and that is how you get the water stone
@@samadhanjain9271you're correct, you do need Dive. Iirc it's in Room 3 which is one of the Rooms involved with the Scanner puzzle.

Another great challenge!! This looks like the most fun one to me imo thanks to the rare candies, but that might also just be my Hoenn bias leading me to believe that! Not being able to Fly that long must have been fairly frustrating! Also, I'm sure these things have been mentioned by people in the comments before, but I figured I might as well note them here in case they haven't:
-Slugma's ability actually doesn't reduce the hatch time until Emerald, much like the Compoundeyes ability, so your Wynaut hatch was still the full time
-Magneton and Electrode present an interesting dilemma in New Mauville, since they're both available in the wild there at 1% - I wonder if it would be quicker to chance finding them and catching them or if it would pay off more in the long run to grind for more candies with Voltorb and Magnemite like you did
-I had NO IDEA you could fish at Ever Grande before using Waterfall - I always thought that Luvdisc was the most pointless post-badge 8 Pokemon (still doesn't make it any more useful though lol)
-Was happy to see "WHY" take up residence in the party as a pickup-er after a while LOL

True story; when I first played Sapphire back in 2003, not only did I do the trade for the Makuhita, but I kept it on my team, where it became one of my core members. It's been so long since I played, but I think I also had a Swampert and Swellow on my team as well.
I love this game a lot but my most memorable moment was when I was going through New Mauville in my Pokemon Emerald copy I found a Shiny Magnemite 😄

An easy way to get ralts is have a lvl 4 pokemon in the front of your party and use a repel

Every spinda has a different pattern apparently so if you wanted all different spinda patterns you will have to catch every single spinda
