- This gauntlet is less about the challenge and more about celebrating Diamond and Pearl's 10 Year Anniversary!!!! I was hoping to upload this on April 22, but I have had no time to edit it until now. I hope you enjoy!

You should do a level 100 gauntlet where you train a pokémon only through gym leaders (**NOT** the trainers that are in gyms, just the gym leaders themselves), trading it into new games to keep going, so it would have to be a pokemon in as many games as possible. Elite Four and Champions also count as battles you can do.
In my finite grinding to 100 100 times I loved doing this...
Wouldn't they get disobedient? And it would be a pain.

I know this video is 5 years old, but watching it gave me goose bumps. Diamond was my very first pokemon game, it was mine. I remember feeling happy and sleepy when listening to the pokemon center's night theme, it was part of one of my favorite birthdays. And near snowpoint city I was leveling up my pokemon and ran into my very first shiny, a machoke. And after finally beating Cynthia, going to the island where you could bring your gameboy advanced pokemon over was so cool! Of course, it was a few years until I got my first pokemon gb game (I think it was Emerald? Or firered?) Anyways, that's all. Just a nice trip down memory lane. ^^
My first shiny ever was in Diamond, I was exploring the area around the pal park, and randomly got a full odds skuntank shiny. I freaked out and master balled it.

My first was a shiny Tranquill in White 2 at Victory Road, I think. I got frustrated at the Pokemon league tho, so I reset the game without trading it to Black XD

Late to the party but whats the possibility of doing this? Assuming the pokemon is traded, you have a lucky egg, and xp buffs, i think its possible by working out trainers with high level basic evolution pokemon, utilizing multiple games to encounter every legendary and evo. It would be a time consuming but huge feat nonetheless
This was such a cool concept and I'm stoked you were able to pull it off, can't wait to see what you have next!
Try to get to level 100 with only OHKO moves. (As in the 30% accuracy ones)

Wow, I wish I still had my first Diamond! Mine unfortunately corrupted, luckily I only lost two full odds shinies and a bunch of chained ones, because a couple years before the corruption, I transferred all my shinies to my X version when it was still free, so I didn't lose my first shiny ever, a Golbat!

Mine was a zubat that I HAD. It was full ods and I had no internet so I had no idea what shiny pokemon were and when I ran into one in mt.correnet I was wondering why it was green and thought "Maybe it means it's stronger" So I caught it, tested if it was and released it.Now if my tiny six year old brain was smart enough to know that it's rare due to the countless zubats I ran into, I would have kept it

Gen 4. Probably the best soundtrack I've ever had the pleasure of listening to and with at least as many hours as yourself to memorize every note of every route, cave, gym, boss, whatever. Wow I'm old.

This is so late, but this video just reminds me how much D/P/P and gen. 4 mean to me. My original favorite was gen. 3, but then Diamond and Pearl came out, and I fell in love. Even back when they were brand new, they had this nostalgic feeling to them, making me feel very cozy and safe, if that makes sense. On top of that, my favorite Pokémon ever is from Sinnoh: Lucario. I only recently realized just how much these games mean to me, and how much of an impact they made on me playing them. By far, my favorite Pokémon games in the franchise.

I can relate to you on this but with Platinum. Pokemon Platinum was my first ever main series pokemon game (I picked it because the picture of Giratina just called to me). I remember getting so frustrated in the beginning because I somehow didn't see the cave leading to Oreburgh city but I felt accomplished when I finally saw it. I had trouble with every gym leader because I didn't know how to level grind or any sort of strategy. But that just made my victories even sweeter to me. When I reached the end of the game, I faced Cynthia over and over and over. And when I finally beat her I just screamed and cheered. I also remember thinking that riolu evolved at level 33 because I didn't know it was a friendship evolution and mine evolved at that level. I had so many good memories that I can go back to smile at with the game.
Platinum was my first ever Pokémon game and will forever hold a place in my heart, I know sinnoh remakes have been teased for a long time but I haven't lost hope

Pokemon Diamond was my first proper game as well, and my proper introduction into the core Pokemon games, mainly saying that as I was first introduced to Pokemon through Pokemon Stadium 1 due to my neighbours having a '64 when all of us were growing up. Diamond was such a fun game despite its flaws, which only came into more light when Platinum was released. I'm guessing everyone knows what flaws I'm hinting at. The music was a highlight for me I think looking back. Even now when listening to the music in this vid I was immediately transported back to 2007 (happens every time for me, music is such a memory re-caller for me). Some of my favorite Pokemon came from these games. While I've long ago sadly lost my original copy of Diamond, I still have a copy of Platinum that I thankfully still have. Hope these games get a remake at some point. Amazing video!

Oh, I would hate to fail a shiny. I remember getting a shiny in the Pokemon Safari, and I was really scared I was going to lose it, but I'm really glad I didn't. It was a random shiny Seaking in FireRed, I was fishing when I got it too.

The vs seeker was always my favorite key item, especially in fire red. I think it’s one island. The one that had the hot spring is a perfect spot to train. Running in and out to heal from the hot spring gives you just enough steps to recharge the seeker, and then there is like 5-6 higher level trainers that you can just keep grinding on
Loved everything about this video! As you were, I was sooo excited for D/P as it was the first time I was into Pokemon when a new game/region was coming out. I would check Pokemon's website everyday to see if any new Pokemon were released. I still have my very first Pearl file from May 2007 and have NEVER even put my Torterra in the P.C. no matter what. Hopefully the file never corrupts.
Luckily I haven't heard too many stories about DS saves corrupting, so it's probably here to stay!

We found our first 4th gen shinies (my first ever) in the same area. Caught a shiny Ponyta in the patch above where you were standing when you mentioned it
I know this is 2 years old and you probably realize this now, but there actually were more trainers on Route 224 (I think that’s it?) to rematch!
They’re incredibly easy to miss because you have to go through the post-game section of Victory Road with a companion. It’s the place where the Oak’s Letter/Shaymin event took place. Great nostalgic journey!

Haha yeah, it isn’t the most memorable route especially considering you need Defog I think?? To get through the cave portion to even get there. Most players wouldn’t think to go there and even if they do, there’s no way of flying back there so you have to make the trek every time you go, haha.
I had that exact same Pokedex book when I was younger! I was too stupid to realise all the information in it was available online the whole time lol Also you say you ALMOST wore yours out? I actually did wear mine out, the glue in the binding wore out and the whole book fell apart lol

@@AbsolBlogsPokemon One distinct memory I have of that book is that if you add up all the stat block thingies for Dialga and Palkia, Palkia has one more stat block than Dialga does. This pissed me off so much as a kid because I had Diamond and thought that Pearl players were getting a stronger pokemon! This wasn't the case of course, Dialga and Palkia have the same stat total but that's what makes it funny.

Gen4 has a special place in my heart because it was the generation I came back and played Pokemon for good. I started with Red and my first game was Silver and loved Crystal, but then I grew up a little and skipped Gen3 completely. I think it was because I didn't even know it was coming out. Anywho, my brother got Pearl for Xmas and I was still defiant on it until he finished the game (he could hardly read, he was so young lol, but managed to beat it). It was then when I started borrowing it and doing the endgame stuff when I fully fell in love with it. I played through Platinum and never went back.
I'm counting the days until a Gen4 remake is announced.

Seeing this is amazing for me. Staraptor is my fav Gen 4 pokemon. I adore brave bird. Makes me sad though because I broke my ds soon after beating the elite 4 as a kid playing this and it was also the last time I was properly following and playing the pokemon games.

I've always loved generation 4, Platinum in particular, but Diamond was the very first Pokemon game I ever played. I played it on my original blue Nintendo DS which sadly doesn't work anymore, but I still have it stored away...somewhere. In my most recent run of Platinum which I did just before Christmas, I randomly encountered a shiny Kadabra and Roselia whilst doing post-game stuff. Yay! Overall, I just have really fond memories of playing Diamond and Platinum, and I think Platinum is probably my favorite game period if I'm being totally honest with myself. Mystery Dungeon and Explorers of Sky come in at a close second.
Also, the soundtrack to Sinnoh is amazing!
It's always so interesting for me to hear what everyone's favorite gen is and why. Gen 4 has always been my least favorite; it came out when I was in high school/was in a period when I wasn't keeping up with pokenews as much. When I finally got around to playing it, I didn't form much of a connection with it. I do remember the snow route was always my favorite though... Anyway awesome gauntlet!

Wooper I think a lot of people feel that way, lol. I actually really liked X and Y, even though a lot of the main critiques of them are super valid (lack of post-game, felt incomplete, etc). But X was the first game I completed the National pokedex in/first game I ever caught a shiny in, so it holds some happy memories for me. ORAS was fantastic though, no question.
Kelly I associate many fond memories with Gen 4 and Gen 3. Gen 3 introduced me to the series, and I fell in love with it ever since. Gen 4 is where I caught my first shiny (Spearow) and the games I played with my siblings. It's always pleasant reminiscing on these memories, as my brother who I played DPPT with has now moved out. These games truly reinforced my love for Pokemon, and my love only grows stronger, even after eleven years.

Oh man, I miss the vs seeker. There were quite a few trainers I saw that gained a lot of levels from vs seeker as well as some that you missed and could have gotten lvl 98 or so with the rival. You also missed Shaymins area.
