  • The Ohio State University Marching Band marches from the Ohio Stadium to the Skull Session at St. John Arena about two hours before game time where they play pregame music, the halftime show, and other standards to a crowd of thousands of supporters. The Band enters the arena beginning with X-Row (trumpets and cornets), and marches down a ramp leading to the floor of the old basketball arena where the show is held. Before the band marches onto the floor, percussion performs for about 2 1/2 minutes. The snares and sousas are in the hallway that circles the stadium, with the rest of percussion in the stairwell area. The remainder of the band is outside. After the percussion performance, the band marches rapidly out of the tunnel and onto the floor of St. John Arena.

There is nothing more exciting, or a bigger adrenaline rush than standing in the hallway or stairwell when the band marches in! The videos is great! But you have to experience it in person! Thanks for posting!

OK I will go along with the excitement and I was once a part of marching drum line but but but but but but I do not see the significance of the titled Snare Drums. The last time I saw that type of AWKWARD Drumming is when Hitler marched his troops back in the l940s I can see the tilted snares drums on a drum set because Buddy swore by it on his set of Slingerlands but for marching drum lines it just does not make sense?????? It looks clumsy

Ray Szymarek if anything it's more representative of a drummer boy from the civil war. That's how snare drummers played in the civil war on either side for the most part to carry out orders
