2012-2015: Pearl Championship, but with different rim and mylar head. 2016-2017: still Pearl Championship but with high tension rim with kevlar heads. 2018-present: Mapex
bit late since they switched to mapex already, but it's a 13 inch older series Pearl championship with Superhoop top and bottom rims, a remo Powerstroke 77 top head and clear ambassador bottom head, pearl marching carrier hardware across from the logo and a pearl level bar. there's also duct tape on the edge of the snare wires too
+Jamis Coates ok but how many use mylar heads? they create a much darker and "wetter" timbre which can make it seem like they're not playing clean when they are
Jamis Coates I'm currently a junior in high school and I've been a percussionist since fifth grade, not to mention I'm going to play in this drumline when I get to college.. so fuck off
@@claireshaffer6994 it all just depends on who auditions and makes it. But its also hard to hell who's a girl sometimes cause their hair has to be put up into the hat/beret.
gosh dang all you need to chill okay this gracious person is just out here trying to give people an inside look at the osumb. they aren't saying their band is the best one ever and they aren't saying they're the worst. if you have something rude to say, how about you just keep it to yourself? you're only doing more harm.
they're a military style marching band. that's why they're old fashioned in many aspects, like the shoulder sling instead of a harness. although they now use harnesses for halftime performance
The line has gotten way better. We've started using full size drums, as well as kevlar heads.
Ryan Dunson why change from Mylar heads? I mean they take more maintenance but they sound so much better
I have no idea, I'm trying to get us to have a set of pregame drums with the traditional Powerstroke 77 and then use the kevlar for halftime haha
Mark Reynolds has done an amazing job with the drum line.
Ryan Dunson I like the sound of these ones though
He most definitely has!
I am proud to live in Ohio. You kids make me proud. You don't know me. I don't know you or your parents. I'm just proud that I live in Ohio...
1:15 the rim shots and the snare sounds so good
True
I really respect the traditional style here!
ima trombone player and the ohio state trombone players practicly snap their necks just marching crazy!!
4:47-4:50
They snap their heads so when they are super close together in turns like script Ohio, they dont hit each other
I am damn proud to be a Buckeye.
more like snare highlights.
+Deinonymous They still have all the old-fashioned values. There are no tenors on this line.
+WarpsFedora so what do you call the thing behind the snares at 3:25?
+WarpsFedora they do have quads, and you can see them at 8:24

Those snares sound delicious, but you guys can't play a tight roll
together to save your lives.
well I mean there are 12-14 of them..
+drummerjared17 i've seen snare lines with 14 people play 1000x cleaner than this
+Jamis Coates ok but how many use mylar heads? they create a much darker and "wetter" timbre which can make it seem like they're not playing clean when they are
+Jamis Coates I love the way mylar snares sound. Crisp, but dark and focused at the same time.
Jamis Coates I'm currently a junior in high school and I've been a percussionist since fifth grade, not to mention I'm going to play in this drumline when I get to college.. so fuck off
Just curious: why aren’t there females in the anyone’s drum line? Surely they can drum as well as a guy.
as a girl that plays snare in my highschools marching band i wonder the same thing. i want to play snare here one day🥺
