Well our band doesn't and my weak arms are so done by the end of the entire march... I cant imagine being a French Horn in this band doing a 9 minute show though our director doesnt seem to care... but we for some reason chose to continue to hold it up horizontally... hoping this Summer Camp for next year we finally change it...

I’ve been in marching band before. The formations are made on a sheet, and you move after a certain number of beats to your next spot.I had to memorize 4 formations. But man, these people memorized at least 50. It’s incredible.

When I was in the band in high school, we had competition's...definitely hard work, early hours and long hot days in the sun, carrying instruments. Sound easy, but it ISN'T.. Performed almost nine years ago. Rarely has a football halftime audience ever rewarded any marching band anywhere with the gasps and applause from the moonwalk. Every fall I come back and visit this video - it rewards participants and fellow musicians handsomely.

They animated & talented musicians. I can't imagine the hard work they out into their performances. I was on my high school marching band with a baritone sax while I was 5'3". That was hard. But this, so awesome. I never went to college so all I have is these videos. Thank you for posting.
Performed almost nine years ago. Rarely has a football halftime audience ever rewarded any marching band anywhere with the gasps and applause from the moonwalk. Every fall I come back and visit this video - it rewards participants and fellow musicians handsomely.
I can't even imagine how hard that last part must've been to coordinate. Marching at different step sizes while also managing not to bump into each other is amazing
