    Good to know and been to all 3 cities and I like Sofia and Varan the most for nomadic life. Internet wise also best in those two cities comparing Bansko.

    Great overview and insights. One more thing in Bansko there are already four co-working places. ;)

    Nothing on Plovdiv?

    • @MitkoKarshovski
      @MitkoKarshovski  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey @Simon Plovdiv is lovely, but just didn't make it into the top 3. Most digital nomas come to Europe in the summer and what a beachside lifestyle. Sofia makes it on the list because it just has a lot of pros even if it's not on the beach

      People buy property in Bansko from my analysis. Also alot of us get our beach experience in one country but now want a mountain experience.
      The Mountain lifestyle is really taking foot. If you have stretched your experiences from Marbella to Playa Del Carmen to Penang, after a while you can actually get tired of beaches and sun, lol (#spoiled)

    Excellent video! tell me please what about raising kids in Bansko, there is any schools/ high education? my and my wife are digital nomads thinking to move to Bulgaria

    • @MitkoKarshovski
      @MitkoKarshovski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think there is any "higher education" options in Bansko. I'm sure there is a local school but no colleges. Bansko is VERY small. Best universities would be Sofia in my opinion!

  • @ericyuan9718

    When u said "not by the beach," we already guessed what the other 2 cities would be. Though Plovdiv > Sofia. Sofia is boring while Plovdiv was the European capital of culture in 2019. Didn't think Varna was THAT cheap. How hard did u look for that 225 EUR deal? And is that summer pricing/long term pricing?

    • @MitkoKarshovski
      @MitkoKarshovski  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To each their own, personally I find Plovdiv boring and love Sofia for the sheer number of amenities it offers. Gotta try them all and pick your favorite 😊
      As far as how hard we looked for that deal, not hard at all once you start looking in the local market. Airbnb can be expensive since it’s a tourist town, but if you are planning on staying for a few months check out the local long term market and then break the lease and eat the fine. Still works out to be cheaper.

    What about Plovdiv? Pozdravi from Toronto.

    • @MitkoKarshovski
      @MitkoKarshovski  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey @Dayan in my opinion Plovdiv doesn't make it in the top 3. It's a nice city, but it's not on the beach (which is important in the summer) and doesn't have the same depth of entrepreneurial community. Pozdravi ot Cincinnati :)

      @@MitkoKarshovski Yes it isn't on the beach, but you can argue that it is in the middle of Bulgaria, travelling to Burgas, Bansko, or Sofia is close. Also the city of Plovdiv is lively, and is the second largest city in Bulgaria.
      You could also argue, that the beach is pointless during the winter season in Bulgaria, and so being near mountains/ski/hot mineral springs, would be an advantage.
      I have heard there are alot of digital nomads and businesses starting up in Plovdiv, so that is why I asked your opinion.
      I am also a Bulgarian, I have been living 20 years in Canada. Considering moving back to Bulgaria to start a business in software/web.

    • @MitkoKarshovski
      @MitkoKarshovski  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dayanbalevski4446 I think that it really depends on what you are looking for. I completely agree...being by the sea is pointless in the winter, but most nomads aren't in Europe in the winter anyways. They tend to go to South America or Asia. The number of "snowmads" are very small compared to those who try to live an endless summer type of experience.
      I still think Sofia #1 for business...it's not really close in terms of talent and resources. And in the summer I see a lot of people from Sofia (or at least those who can) go to Varna since it has the most coworking spaces and the biggest community on the beach. The coworking spaces get filled up with people who normally live in Sofia but are coming to live by the sea for a few months.
      Overall, the beaty of the digital nomad life is that you can visit Bansko, Sofia, Varna, and Plovdiv for a few weeks, and see which one jives with you the most 😊

    Nice video, but i have to say that Bansko has a more active and international nomad community.

    • @MitkoKarshovski
      @MitkoKarshovski  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it depends on what you are looking for 😊. From my experience Bansko does have large nomad community, but Sofia and Varna have a larger "entrepreneurial" community.
