19:05 you got it a little bit wrong. As a Polish person I agree that as a Nation we are oppose illegal imigration, absolutely. We keep our borders tight, but if you want to come here legally and live here in peace being a valuable part of society, you're welcome. as you know being here for some time now. But we are not oppose cultural diversity, it's a little bit more complicated... we love to learn about other cultures, we love to integrate your heritage into our customs, but it has to be preceded by respecting and acknowledging our customs and culture, so that you bring to the table should not be in conflict with our traditions, because we were robbed of this culture and oppressed for centuries, so we will always value our culture over foreign, but it does not mean that we are closed to participate or include other cultures in ours.
Kocham azjatyckie kino i muzykę.

People coming from asian countries have in general a very good reputation here in Poland. They're nice, hard working and don't make any problems here. We appreciate this
I have started to admire Poland since I was a kid because I was deeply attracted by the courage and the unyielding spirit the Poles displayed when I was reading about the Warsaw Uprising. The Polish people I meet in here in Canada, and their children (especially girls) have many good qualities that many of the locals here lack. The Poles really have been through a lot. I really want to visit Poland and check out every historical site from the Polish-Lithuania Commonwealth to the Soviet era, this way I will be able to understand things they have been through and how that shaped their national character they hold on to this day. On the contrary, North America is full of toxic, entitled, selfish, narcissistic, ostentatious Anglo trashes. They think they are the center of the world, and they never suffer from things like homes being destroyed, famine, big social turmoil and massive death. They do not understand how lucky they are since their homeland has pretty much never been in a devastated warzone for more than 150 years. They take everything for granted. Many of the Anglos here still subconsciously have that old colonial mindset lingering in the deep subconscious. Anyhow, I have been watching your video on and off for a while and I like your content. I am glad that you are now living in a place where you feel fully comfortable to be your true self. I wish you the best in pursuing your goals and life journey in Poland
@@troylam3408 I again back to my colleague from Belgium who visited me in Poland this summer . I invited him to Warsaw Uprising 1944 museum. He said that he knew something oboui It because he saw a film about Jewish Uprising in Warsaw. When I told him that this us not the same Uprising, this is not the same scale he was surprised. Generalny I understand that for the West people, also well educated people, Warsaw Uprising is Jew Uprising .
@rozgniatacz_mend I am actually from Hong Kong. You are not wrong though, I will judgementally say that 80% of the locals here in Canada that I have met are kind of dumb and don't know and don't care about anything else other than making money and making themselves look good in front of others.
Sad to say, but all the positives you mentioned are changing and more of the western/US craziness is coming and being adopted here, especially by the younger generation.
As a person stemming from Poland and holding polish citizenship I am very grateful hearing how high you think and speak about Polish people. Thank you very much! Right now I am also living abroad, and I must admit I miss the safety of Poland very much. Because you mention your Asian background I also have a question if maybe you could sometime say how much do you think Polish culture has in common with Asian culture from your perspective.

I am a proud Polish who currently lives USA. All differences you have pointed out between both countries and their cultures and societies are valid. I value your opinion because you were not born and raised there, you don’t have to lie and you have lived in both countries. I am jealous you live in Poland. I am a nurse in USA. I can’t go back to Poland and work there as a nurse. Nurses in Poland do not have the same amount of autonomy at work as nurses in USA and they are not valued, not mentioning their salaries difference. But definitely I will retire in Poland where food is healthy and natural. Thank you for pointing out our traditions, history and fight for independence in the past. Double face is definitely something that you will not find in Poland. You either liked or not and you will know it. Americans are fake. It took me a while to realize they are not honest. I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart. Enjoy our hospitality!
Very accurate and flattering.Thank you. True story: I travel regularly to PL with all kids. Told my British colleague once that airport is 3h away, one way, and my brother - or brother in law - will pick me up (6-7h round trip). She almost cried. - Her parents had just refused to pick her up 20 mins away because they had social arrangements.
I am very impressed by your deep and professional analysis of our Polish way of living and our values. I agree with your conclusions in 100%. I wish you all the best and a happy life here in Poland:) I keep my fingers crossed for you to realize a dream about your own family.
Great analysis, as a Pole I can agree with most of it, nice content! I cannot however completely agree that we do not like immigration and diversity, definitely not all of us - we have a lot of different opinions about it among ourselves, so I would keep away from generalization here. However we for sure don't like the illegal immigration. If you want to go a little bit into this rabbit hole check the times of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (Rzeczpospolita Obojga Narodów). Before partitions we were probably most diverse country in the Europe with a lot of different cultures, ethnicities and religions living mostly peacefully next to each other. Then wars happened, then communism happened and soviets did everything to make Poland monoethnic. This is why we are in the current state of affairs in Poland. Deep inside most of us will respect you of who you are and what you do, not by where are you from :)
I'm a Polish teenage girl and I completely agree with most of your points, especially the humbleness and education parts. I know a few languages and I keep learning since I'm in a linguistic class but Americans can only hate on my English accent, when people from other countries always compliment me on it. I feel like Americans are always fake when it comes to relationships/friendships, like they can't take them seriously and try to act nice to other people to seem likeable, when for Polish people - it's the opposite. People mostly like us because we're blunt and honest. :)
I'm sorry to say that, but English pronunciation is one of the most neglected part of education, and it shouldn't be. I rarely meet Polish people who actually have the proper pronunciation, be it Br Eng or Am Eng.
@@marikothecheetah9342 I agree. I don't want to criticize OP's experience or skills, but even though our understanding of english might be great, not that often you may encounter a Pole who speaks english fluently and comfortably. I don't think I speak perfect english either, but I appreciate proper pronounciation, and I think that it's also respectful for the nation, to make that effort of learning how to speak well. But also, there are other aspects as well. We don't have that many opportunities to use English in our lifes. Many are just inexperienced or shy about their pronounciation, and criticizing or humiliating somebody just because they are learning is totally wrong and uncool. I didn't have any lasting relationships with Americans, but my British friends often said that me and my friend are really well spoken, and don't have to bother, but still I asked them that if I say something wrong or that sounds weird or unnatural, they would correct me. They never did, as they didn't want to be rude or whatever 😅 but my point is that I welcomed them to correct me, instead of them hypothetically(?) telling me "you english wrong, go back to russia" or something alike ;P And going back to the main point, my observation is that the best for young people to better their pronounciation and confidence is gaming and watching tv series with subtitles. Even better if it's possible to use english subs only. When you are playing multiplayer games with voice chats, you meet many random people, and many are not native english speakers, so they are in similar situation as you. They can stutter, think of a word for a longer while, butcher grammar or make other mistakes. And even better, depending on the environment, you may never meet them again, so if you feel embarassed, you can talk with other people. It's like level easy of pronounciation. You learn not to be shy, to actually form sentences, to be quick witted and think english on the go, and that allows for better skills and confidence to speak english with natives or in more permanent relationships/workspaces. But you won't learn proper pronounciation, so here come tv shows, movies etc. You memorise all of the words, how they sound, the order in which they are used. You don't even need to understand the grammar to learn the phrases, how to emphasise, you can learn different meanings of words, some not typical constructions, and if you understand english but have only issues with speaking it, english subtitles reinforce your knowledge of ortography, which imo is also great. Ah, and I forgot to add. I was studying IT and expected all to be more or less well oriented in english, as probably there would be some gamers, or just people who script, and the scripts are in english after all... I'm afraid to say, that in group of ~16 people, only 5 could make a conversation with the teacher. Others could barely mutter something in english after being forced to (i mean. They were asked a question, but usually were dodging and waiting for others to answer) Sorry so much for generating this huge wall of text! And bravo with apologies to anyone who read it xd i have a fever so sorry for jumping around topics and all mistakes i made And thank you for the creator of the vid! It was quite meritorical, and while I feel that many creators just like to make their polish audiences happy, you presented very factual aspects of our culture. Respect! ;)
@@karolfortuna8522 "but I appreciate proper pronounciation, and I think that it's also respectful for the nation, to make that effort of learning how to speak well." - yes! I studied administration (European and Polish at the same time - long story) and we had French. My friends adamantly said: "I won't be learning French pronunciation and make a fool of myself." So... yeah. Such people exist and I don't get their way of thinking. "Many are just inexperienced or shy about their pronunciation, and criticizing or humiliating somebody just because they are learning is totally wrong and uncool. " - agreed. My friend has learned a bit of English by herself and her pronunciation is sometimes way off. I only correct her when we are alone and only the words that absolutely need correction i.e. would not be understood with mispronunciation. However, with today's tool and possibilities not to learn proper pronunciation is a bit lazy for me. There are dictionaries online, TV series, as you mentioned and the whole pronunciation learning process - I am so agreeing with this. I first started learning English in 80s, before school and we still were a soviet satellite country, so the resources were very scarce, but I still was able to learn pronunciation by simply listening and relistening and repeating the words I heard from the cassette tapes (yeah, I'm a dinosaur). :P Today kids have it incredibly easy and I am saying this with full responsibility. If they want to learn any language - here you go, there's Internet. Netflix. Spotify with music from all around the world. Apps. Language schools. I must say I am impressed with young generations, many of those kids have a very good pronunciation, rhythm of the language and only a trained ear can tell they are not natives. So - it's doable. "I was studying IT and expected all to be more or less well oriented in english, as probably there would be some gamers, or just people who script, and the scripts are in english after all..." - I have my computer system in English, not my native Polish and I once had duded set up my new Internet router and one just sat there while the other was doing all the work, because he could barely speak English. And we are talking about navigating Windows... How on Earth are these people coding or doing any IT work without at least knowing the basic English in popular OSs is beyond me , so I totally get where you're coming from.

As someone who has lived in both the U.S. and Poland, I completely agree with you. However, it's important to acknowledge that not everything is as ideal as you suggest when it comes to human relationships in Poland. Additionally, American behaviors are heavily influenced by the state they live in; for example, people in California tend to be much more relaxed compared to those in New York. The same variations apply to crime rates, feminism, and other societal factors. Nonetheless, I strongly believe Poland has a bright future, with a clear and strong trend supporting this positive outlook.
What You said about looking at other cultures and understanding their perspective, but still sticking to our own, I think that's indeed a strength of ours. We've been invaded and erased so many times, we kind of get "other people". We've lived with them, and as them, for centuries. Poles may feel a bit distant to people from countries like the US, but generally, even if we don't like you, we'll help if you need something. Common decency, and then we might actually start liking you if you do argue with us... Polish people complaining may be a meme, but it does bring people together. Anyway, best wishes from Poland!

I don't know what Asian country you come from, but know that in Poland we are increasingly appreciating Asian culture and cuisine. Maybe because our values and family culture are very similar. Personally, I have been interested in Asian music and cinematography for several years. In my opinion, Korean and Japanese films are definitely better than some Hollywood productions. Chinese and Korean music is on a par with British music for me. I love K-pop and Korean rock. Polish women like Asians and probably you too, because you are very handsome. Maybe individualism, resourcefulness, hardworking culture, national proud etc. Take care and good luck!
Thank you for your thoughts on Poles. Quite a professional, no nonsense analysis, very thoughtful, well spotted and kind, too 🤜🏼🤛 My dad is English, my mum is Polish but they settled down in Sweden. And this is where I was born and raised. Dunno how to put in words but it feels like having three homelands at the same time. I respect them both for their ability to assimilate in Sweden pretty easily but above all I acknowledge the connection to their roots. Somehow they managed to combine all possible aspects of three countries together with no opposition within. I appreciate they talked to me and later also with me 😉their native languages right from the cradle. I used to go to Polish and English schools at the embassies. Obviously nurturing English and Polish (including classes in history and literature) did its job. I don’t know American culture, I mean, no in terms of some profound knowledge. It just all those very basic things most people know (like the constitution, domestic North vs South war, struggling with slavery, Martin Luther King impact on the country, a superficial characteristics of individual states, being able to list them, and probably I’d be able to list roughly 80 % of presidents, with some further details since the President Bush Jr.’s era and all the elected from that time on). I’m more confident about broadly defined show business, still having my own taste in music genres, films but also some famous writers. But yeah, sadly, the rest is based on some stereotypes…I know plenty of Americans, these days and obviously they all are different. But…..yeah, I noticed that they behave as if it was mandatory to flash their pearly white smiles no matter what they feel like. Theoretically they seem unbelievably friendly and easy going….It’s worth noting that Swedish people share a lot those features or manners. They’re just less open, more reserved in a way. And then whenever they are not satisfied with any sort of the service, tiny things, they become I’d say overly assertive. Keeping that smile they immediately want to see a manager, a supervisor (whomever they want to see, ofc it depends on the particular situation). And this is when my Polish nature comes out. I get myself thinking like: ‘geez, where is your easy going attitude, you’ve kept putting this unnatural smile and right now you’re wiping the floor with this poor waitress just because of e.g. wrong order issues. I guess you know what I mean, ofc they’re right but observing the whole situation it seems a bit grotesquely exacerbated and much more than just a bit - passive aggressive since calling a manager and suggesting she should be fired with wide smiles still kept on is just….uschhhh hate it. Now, it makes no sense to repeat the general characteristics of Poles. For you did it 👌🏼This is what I like about Polish folks. We’re rather no nonsense people. It has changed over the years but the communism has had a great impact on the generations 60 plus. Tough times, a constant propaganda, living under a genuinely strong surveillance made them suspicious, reserved. That’s why it seemed to them not just weird but also dangerous to chat with strangers, there were to many problems to struggle with to go into small talks. Today’s generation is definitely more open. We don’t like political correctness but it doesn’t mean that we/they don’t respect other people’s opinions, values, sexual orientation which pretty often leads to a false understanding or conclusion they’re all homophobic or xenophobic. It goes exactly this way you expressed 👍🏼✌️
@@coachshanez Yeah, sometimes my comments as short as those sent via e.g. WhatsApp, like you need to reply quickly. But when I want to share some thoughts on issue….you’re darn right, they are hell woooooordy. 😂✌️
A very thoughtful comment. As to the fixed smiles on American faces, I think they overdo it sometimes. But, I also think that the expectation of a brave smile in America stems from the expectation and the reality, in most cases, of an upbeat attitude. I like that. Poles are often more genuine and I don’t mind the lack of a smile. On the other hand I often meet with real sourpuss expressions on people’s faces in Poland. Even in the hospitality industry. They look like they are suffering from a toothache or something. To me, it’s unpleasant. I like a cheerful face.
@@markg1531 I hear’ya. And sure, it’s kinda natural we want to deal with kind, people and a friendly face expression. And, yep a lot of Polish people has this sourness in their eyes, mouths etc. And this regards to what we’re discussing. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not defending those people whatever their reasons for their face mimics might me. Johan, native Swedish, a guy with his Swedish roots present back in few generations before is a very good friends of mine. But he knows he can count on me to say what I thought 😄one thing I couldn’t get was when we were meeting Erasmus students and ofc. we spoke English. He used to paint a picture of Sweden as of a very open country, proud of its multicultural culture without being asked for wearing a ‘Swedish Ambassador’s shoes’. It’s just an example. And again having been friends for over 20 years and eye to eye I knew how frustrated he was with illegal immigration. Some of his words were simply offensive. He couldn’t understand why the Riksdag, Swedish Parliament could let it happen to make his parents work hard and pay huge taxes when at the same time there were e.g. neither a Syrian lady next door never worked in Sweden, nor did her husband . And that was true they used all possible welfare, bonuses for a family with 8 kids etc. I also think it’s not quite fair. But Polish people would tell you openly, we won’t let you spend your days watching telly while we will be working hard to maintain you. I’ve simply confronted him few times. Sometimes along the lines ‘Why do you feel like I-must-say positive things about my country when, considering this particular situation or example, you don’t believe in what you say. Like a bot…couldn’t answer. But yeah sure I agree with the other part of your comment.
@@sorrygregory5653 The situation you describe is one among many I don’t understand about today’s world. Something really bad has happened to many people’s minds. As you are probably aware Europe used to be called “Christendom” in the Middle Ages. That’s because the foundation of the European culture is Christianity, and more precisely, Catholicism. That’s been largely removed. And we all know what happens when you remove the foundation… everything collapses. I think it’s what we are witnessing right now. And why it’s happening a bit less in Poland.

I spent seven months in the US and am currently working with a few people from the USA. I have very similar observations. We speak of general, not going into details, as all talks about the whole nation only touch the very general high level, which somehow creates stereotypes. But yes, in general, I find these points very true. What I find funny is the way you say "Americans", and somehow it also proves the point about being egocentric. Of course, we know you mean people from the US. However, I bet, all guys living south of the US (also in America, but South or Central) may feel disrespected. Anyway, I'm glad you feel good in Poland, keep it up and good luck! 💪
I am also an Asian American currently living in Poland. I agree with a lot you have to say (not everything), but I do have a few questions. Do you speak Polish? I find communication with them difficult because of the language barrier. Generally speaking, the younger ones speak some English, but the older they get the less English they speak. I found a decent amount speaking fluent English. I am trying to learn Polish, but it is so difficult. My last question is, how do you find the dating scene. Do you find it difficult? Did you know a study was done and Asian men are the least desirable ethnicity out of all the races.

What I meant was, other cultures segregating within Polish society, and gaining grounds.
SUPER 👍👍👍
He is peaking the Wrong language. That's honest enough.

I am jealous you live in Poland. I am a nurse in USA. I can’t go back to Poland and work there as a nurse. Nurses in Poland do not have the same amount of autonomy at work as nurses in USA and they are not valued, not mentioning their salaries difference.

Dziekuje ❤❤❤
I'm a Polish teenage girl and I completely agree with most of your points, especially the humbleness and education parts. I know a few languages and I keep learning since I'm in a linguistic class but Americans can only hate on my English accent, when people from other countries always compliment me on it. I feel like Americans are always fake when it comes to relationships/friendships, like they can't take them seriously and try to act nice to other people to seem likeable, when for Polish people - it's the opposite. People mostly like us because we're blunt and honest. :)
So true! Thanks for sharing your experience!
They never did, as they didn't want to be rude or whatever 😅 but my point is that I welcomed them to correct me, instead of them hypothetically(?) telling me "you english wrong, go back to russia" or something alike ;P
And going back to the main point, my observation is that the best for young people to better their pronounciation and confidence is gaming and watching tv series with subtitles.
They were asked a question, but usually were dodging and waiting for others to answer)
Sorry so much for generating this huge wall of text! And bravo with apologies to anyone who read it xd i have a fever so sorry for jumping around topics and all mistakes i made
And thank you for the creator of the vid!

Awesome video!!!

Chinese and Korean music is on a par with British music for me. I love K-pop and Korean rock. Polish women like Asians and probably you too, because you are very handsome.
Wow thank you for the long comment and insights!
Great analysis👋

Thank you 😊
Lovely and very accurate observations!!!
I don’t agree with everything as a Polish person, but I appreciate this video.

I know why you feel good here, because you know how to be a good citizen. In Poland we deeply respect asian culture, its similar to ours in many ways. We came a long way from the communism, and we are happy people like you want to continue the journey with us.
Thank you for this video, it's nice for once not to hear that we are racist but only want to preserve our national identity and safety.
It’s so true though! Woke culture needs to go away, and common sense needs to come back to the world.
I was blessed to be raised with grandparents and a great grandmother and lots of aunts and uncles
accurate observations
You are awesome. I am part polish, but i live in california...and its true what you say about the people in the States. I hope one day to see polska for myself.
Polska always strong, strong mentality, but always humble. God bless.
Thank you for your feedback!
Othank you for these words
I love my country. Poland for the win! :D
I like you to! Ringo Star once said "I like everybody who likes me". If you like my country, that I love more than myself, so I like you a lot! ;-).
As a Pole I find Asians easy to live by - we are so different but I feel like the core values are quite similar.
We love you too random asian guy
You are spot on!
the way we show off in Poland is a bit different than America but in no way less pronounced when they treat you as one of their own. I mean we are all about showing off in front of our neighbour
Video about poland that lasts 21:37 i salute you my man
I spent seven months in the US and am currently working with a few people from the USA.
Thanks for the confidence boost for my ego, chap
We love you too ❤. I love a Poland even if many polish people have treated me horribly in the family.
Thank your for your nice analysis :) As a Pole that was living for some time in Korea, I was really surprised how many cultural similarities and similar unspoken rules we have (althought I cannot say for all Asian cultures because I didnt have an opportunity to know them as good as Korean). I felt there more like in home, than in Western European countries. Greetings and welcome in Poland 🙃
Śliczny zagraniczny 😊
