The downside to buying tanks second hand is that sometimes they don’t come with lids. I’m upgrading my hamster cage to a 180 gallon long tank and I would have to make a stand and a lid for it. Hopefully my hamster is happy once it’s all done. Thanks for making this video!😊
This definitely came just in time - I’m building my hamster a DIY IKEA Pax enclosure, and whilst I’m not building the lid myself, I still need as much help as I can get with building advice in general lol.
This is perfect! I'm getting the IKEA PAX and have no idea how to make a lid bc last time my dad did it and I'm helping him and telling him what to get lol
I love this video! Super helpful, definitely rewatching when I make lids again! I agree that cutting the mesh (and working with mesh in general) is the worst part about making your own lids 😂
I’m gonna be making the same exact thing tomorrow but for sorting rocks from sand (getting natural substrate for a fish tank). I was thinking of stapling the hardware mesh to a frame, but sandwiching it between 2 frames seems easier and sturdier
Great DIY skills , nice to see you drill pilot holes and use a countersink too, gives a better fix and good finish.

Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you. I’m planning on buying a detolf and I wanted to make a wooden/mesh lid.

are you able to make tutorial videos on how to make ceramic hides and wooden hides!?
I'm pretty sure she just buys those.
These look amazing! I'm definitely getting some corner clamps now
