James Brown was Not only a father of soul Music. He was Far more than people can imagine.
He was Unique in every way possible. He gave more to charity than any Other star. Elvis was also very generous (but with his friends mostly) James Brown came from a really poor background. he had Nothing accept his God given talent he was born with.
you all should do a bit of a research on this Great Human being.
No one can Ever replace James Brown. He was One of a Kind.
May he rest in Peace under God's wings.

Mr. James Brown was the music foundation for many performers that we know of today.
HIS Thoughts about being black in America...I wish he had put his thoughts on paper as well spoke from a platform to the races. He was of simple words but they thought process and how he articulated his words were powerful.
His love of music...his concern for his people..in my opinion it was season with a touch of being a pioneer activist
.asking for change in this country by leaving the door of opportunity open...We can get it ourselves....
When James Brown went to Heaven
      The door was OPEN!

In 1979 I was stationed in Augusta Georgia as a soldier. The Augusta Open golf tournament in Augusta Georgia black Americans were not allowed to play in it.
Early on I questioned as a black American Soldier why am I going over to other countries and fighting someone else when my fight is here in America.
It took all the way to Tiger Woods for black Americans to be allowed to play golf at Augusta open in the hometown of James Brown Agusta Ga.. And even after Tiger Woods women were not allowed to play at the Augusta open. White people make me sick with their systemic racism.

James took blues, and turned it on its head. The arrangements that he created and executed were so brilliant and influential, that even now, artists emulate his vision. Not only is the music of previous decades so much different, but the contrast between personalities and the way that artists presented and expressed themselves in the past was vastly more interesting. There seems to be a connection between creativity and social behavior. And I think that it's evident when you look at the musical geniuses of the 60's and 70's who offered insightful, genuine anecdotes and the pop stars of today who open their mouths and say nothing.

It is the power of being an American. Hard work gets you where you want to go. JB knew this and did not let anything or anyone hold him back. He believed in himself and didn't make excuses. What a great American.

+Vilis So True Vilis. So many sold millions of albums and 45's and worked nonstop but were paid nothing. It wasnt like today. Autotune, no talent, no singers or musicians, forgetable bs and they have millions. Guess the less talent you have the more money you make.

They tried to put JB on the hot seat. He handled himself very well. Stay Black.

No one sounded like James Brown. Sure there were many great soul funk bands.. but all looked at JB and were blown away. Truly a unique musician.

I like this Video because of the interview. I don't like the mess they made of the use of graphics. James Brown does his own graphics with energy and movement.

It's nice to see this sober side of him in interviews. He has a serious message and knowing what drugs did to him later on is rather sad.

james was coming into a level of black consciousness. he stopped conking his hair and later that year he grew an afro.

All the video-effects during the performace footage is annoying!! Hate the way they used to do this. Just put a camera on JB and let him do his thang! No need for effects!
