I'm Italian, I was 6 in 1971 and I remember very few things. One is the match of the soccer world cup Italy - Brazil, played the previous year, with Pele on the pitch. Another is this fantastic performance. You must know that, in those years, the audience on TV could not move, they could not get up, they could only applaud on command. Then came James Brown.

wow that is so cool. ...the football (yes football not soccer / i worked in Seria A & saw James Brown twice once i Perugia), love what you said too bad you could not dance to the man back in 71.

Cool man. I'm from Cincinnati and 11 in 1971. The Godfather cut so many record out of Cincinnati we thought he was from Cincinnati. To this day he is my favorite 🎵 artist. His legacy is sealed in popular music. He's Super bad.

I grew up in the 60s and there will never ever be a decade where so many influences such as gospel, the blues, and country music created a counter culture that rose up and flipped the world upside down.

Paula´s Universe, agree to that. The dancer is Elza Soares, a Brazilian superstar, icon, singer and songwriter "Queen of Samba". So she was not a go go dancer at all.
In this video she is 40 yo and a mother of four...
Google her and there is a lot about her life and what happened to her.
She was awarded "Singer of the Millenium" by BBC.
For many yeras she was married to fotboll star Garrincha and they lived in Rome 1970 to 1971 something.
So that i maybee an explaination why she is on this TV show. That was indeed very unexpected and a big surprise.
She was globally a bigger star than JB himself, but funny thing is that I guess not many people in that TV show, or seeing this video, has any idea about that. Kindá sad really
