    FYI: I have a Bosch DW with this same setup and the problem was the round screen/filter under the larger flat, metal screen. It had built up hard water deposits and at least 80% of it was totally restricted. Took it out, cleaned it with soap/brush/scrub pad well but still 70%+ remained. I sprayed it with straight white vinegar, scrubbed on it...was still mostly blocked. I then put it in a small sandwich ziplock bag and put about 1/2 cup vinegar in bag, closed it and shook every few hours. After 24 hours all was dissolved and it came completely clean. It will require a soak so don't try to scrub too hard or it may damage the filter. Let it soak and the vinegar will do the work by chemical reaction.

    Excellent. The details are always important. I got crud on the dishes, especially in the tea cups on the top rack.. I had taken out the filter in the bottom of the bin. Gave it a good cleaning. had replaced it. But I failed to lock it back in. Your video showed me exactly what I had done wrong. And how to fix it. Thank you.

    What if my drain has been always kept clean and the spray arms are clean. Also the air gap looks fine. My washer leaves a ton of soap, and has almost since it was new. I tried finish as by the manufacturer and now cascade complete. I use vinegar all the time as well. I have ran it several times with no soap and there is a soapy scum on everything. It's a bummer since they won't help me at Bosch.

    I don't have the air thing on top of my sink that you are talking about. I've cleaned the filter multiple times, I ordered a top new arm and my bottom arm in my Bosch dishwasher is absolutely clean and perfect. It seems like my dishes are not getting clean, I have the dishwashing detergent that you said to use. What else could it be? I just put three cups of vinegar in my dishwasher, I saw that on another TH-cam channel, maybe that will help? There's always the tiniest bit of water in the drain and even when I push the start button for 3 seconds, the water does not go down. My garbage disposal is not clogged I've poured scalding hot water down it and it runs perfectly. Thank you so much!

    I've had nothing but problems with my Bosch dishwasher. I have a similar model to the one shown that costs over $1700. It does not clean. I've had the repair guys out at least 10 times (on warranty). I am meticulous about following the recommendations for loading. Keep the filter spotless (clean it weekly), remove and clean the spinners BEFORE EVERY CYCLE, turned my hot water up to the hottest temp possible (which means I'm frequently burning my hands while washing them), always use the recommended detergent (Finish Ultimate), and the rinse aid, run the hot water before washing, scrape (but don't rinse) the dishes (so the detergent which needs "biologics" to do it's job, can work)...and STILL have dirty dishes every wash. Like often half the dishes. sometimes plates, and forks not cleaned. I make sure it's loaded so water can circulate. Nothing touching. Nothing overlapping. spin the spinners before starting. And always cups and glasses with GUNK thrown up on them. Stuck to them. Like sand inside the glasses. I can't figure out why! Anyone have any ideas at all? I'm ready to start a campaign to the manufacturer declaring they replace a lemon.

      Check to see if the float in your dishwasher is working. Lift it up, it is the round thing by the drain filter, and hold it there. You should hear a pump turn on to empty. The cap should move up and down freely. If it does not, then you have a jammed float cap and it can keep water from filling to the proper level, which then leaves dirty dishes and undissolved soap.

    • @eponymousIme

      Me too. Didn't clean from Day 1 -- so it wasn't a problem of food clogging or neglected maintenance. It was professionally installed, but still I had a different professional plumber come out and check the connections (water line, etc.) and the water pressure and they were fine. Essentially, I purchased a very expensive dish rack that is useful only for holding the dishes, silverware, pots and pans that I have to wash by hand in the sink and put in the Bosch to dry. Even at that, the bottom rack sucks and doesn't even slide in and out smoothly....it keeps falling off its track! Regrettable purchase.

    • @treewarden470
      @treewarden470 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We had intermittent problems with the bottom rack not cleaning. Determined that the bottom rack sags just enough to hit the bottom spinner when heavily loaded. Solved problem by 3d printing 8 wheels with 1/4 inch larger radius.

    In the manual that came with my new Bosch dishwasher it advises to run the hot water tap in the kitchen sink until the water flows hot BEFORE turning on your dishwasher-sounds kind of silly but it works! The fact that the Bosch is engineered to save on water and electricity was an important consideration to me. I talked with an engineering student before buying my Bosch appliances and found that they are great large appliances If you've ever seen what Europeans pay for their utilities it makes their design understandable. He explained that the dishwasher is designed to use the heat from the heat of the wash and rinse water cycles to dry the dishes, thus no need to pay extra to power a heating element! Pretty clever in my book! I do still notice some water in the tops of mugs or other dishes with a shape not allowing the water to drain off the tops, not a biggie to me.

    • @ericnoack1324
      @ericnoack1324 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      should not be necessary if you use a single connection to the cold water because the Bosch heats its own water .A hot water connection is not necessary.

    After doing all the checks I fin the biggest problem is forgetting to lock the filter in place _ I just used to place it in its place _ but when started locking it all was fine _ with not locking the dirt just sneaks underneath the rims and squirts back on the dishes

    • @stevekonarski5933

      Also not having the filter locked in makes easy access to debris greater than say 1mm diameter which the filter would normally prevent entering the "system" _ I found bits of plastic paper next to the blade outlet and a piece of chipped glass _in the water well "beyond the filter as well as other debris _ some of which interfered with the pumping oit of the water_ so if the filter is "locked" in place nothing should get elsewhere in the "live" water loop

    I have a Bosch SHE43P 02UC/56
    It is NOT cleaning or drying well at all. Every glass I take out still has drips of water on it. Silverware still has gunk stuck to it. Also, the dishes on the bottom rack seem to get a layer of 'powder' on them. I'm thinking maybe it's the dish pod not fully dissolving? I'm using finish tablets.
    I just moved into this house so I don't know if this problem is new. I couldn't find the air valve but I checked the jets and filter, both clean. Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Mine quit dropping the soap tablet - i do get the ones you recommend. I took apart the arms and cleaned out the screen. It does appear to be filling. Any suggestions?

      I would replace the wax motor that powers the soap dispenser .

      I don’t put tablet in the dispenser. Just throw on the bottom of washer. Works whole lot better. Try it.

    Hey I had an issue with Bosch dish washer where it was not cleaning well and noticed the spray arms would not spin during the cleaning cycle. This video started me down the right road. Eventually I took the whole machine apart to inspect the pump and impeller to find there was plastic junk, paper, clogging the impeller. I fixed the machine for no cost thanks to this guys videos. Thanks a bunch! Here is a link to his other video on replacing the impeller that lead me to the clog: th-cam.com/video/eAMz06N9-rA/w-d-xo.html

    Put a filter in the inlet. These clogs shouldn't happen with the filter.

    My bosch is not turning on, and the control panel doesn't light up whatsoever (touch screen....I don't have the model number), but when I press on, I hear the "Beep". Might you know what's going on here? When I plug it in, I can hear the motor on the bottom running, as if it's feeding water, but it isn't doing anything but making the sound. Please help

    Same dishwasher is clouding my glassware. It takes several months, then cloudiness appears. No, it is not calcium - I have tried cleaning it with citric acid. I have been careful, after the first few times, to buy glassware that is extra resistant. Nothing helps. Use Fairy tablets and original salt.
    The Bosch rep tells me I am not following instructions, but doesn't tell me what instruction I am not following - and I can not see anything I m doing wrong. I sounds like a cop out to me.

    • @nicermguy1
      @nicermguy1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have the "eco-nonesense" model, or something like that, then the water is tepid. Always wash on Power Wash or Sanitize to get water that is hot enough to dissolve the soap tablet. That was my problem.

  • @skinnyhastrup

    The main problem with this machine is that it is a Bosch. They simply cannot make an effective dishwasher.
    Even with everything cleaned out perfectly, poured a lot of boiling water with Melitta cleaner (citric acid), tried a second clean with hot clorinated water, checked pump pressures and cleaned out all parts of drain system...dishes are still not clean.
    Yes salt and rinse aid was filled with the proper brands, used the most expensive YES tablets, and sometimes two of them. Used the least economic programs, highest temperatures - did everything I possibly could, but no. This is a Bosch. No good.
    My older Electrolux at my old house never ever had these problems. It could look like it had died inside, smell like shit and STILL produce clean dishes.
    If you don't believe me - try washing silicone parts for baby bottles. In a Bosch they come out greasy. After a handwash with Yes or using an Electrolux they are clean and feeling all dry.

      I’m pretty sure the heater is no longer working.
      If you open it up at 20 minutes do you get a big cloud of steam coming out?

    • @skinnyhastrup
      @skinnyhastrup 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course the heater is working, or else it wouldn't work at all. I can hardly handle the dishes after a 70° program and yes, lots of steam pile up when opening in the middle of a program.
      I'm not saying it's not washing up, it is, just not very good. I expect a certain degree of cleanliness from a machine this expensive, and Bosch is not delivering at all.
      Burn the same cash on a Electrolux and just forget the salt or the rinse aid for months and months - you'll hardly notice, and the glasses and silicone stuff are pristine, every time, using a detergent like YES titanium tablets or similar.

      I wonder if the air gap up near the sink is partially blocked?

    • @skinnyhastrup
      @skinnyhastrup 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I noticed you had that air vent, but I've never seen any machine have that solution to it here in Sweden. I suppose it has some sort of air vent on the back/top of the machine instead.

    • @QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance
      @QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they’re just used in California.
      You might pull the drain hose from the garbage disposer and put it in a bucket as you run the drain cycle. I think it’s not fully draining.
      You might also try cascade complete detergent.

    • @QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance
      @QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Then you check to make sure the spray arms are not clogged with debris next you make sure that at the 10 minute mark there’s enough heat to create steam in the dishwasher and also it’s important to use a soap that will be effective like cascade complete.

    It's a classic example of lazy People this, essentially all they had to do was clean it in the first place as a first resort to see if it could be sorted but can't be even bothered to even do that and would rather call someone out. Literally tells you in the manuals. It's no disrespect to the video or anything. Just irritates me the way some people are.
