The flashback where the mighty, stubborn, prejudiced Stoick the Vast is sobbing to himself over his dead wife, and then takes the moment to teach his son how important love and loss is, is once again one of my absolute favorite moments of the series. You can see the love in his eyes for his son in the last shot. It’s beautiful.
I cried because it didn't have to end that way, they just wanted to end like the books. The books actually had a good reason for it though which the movie version doesn't.
28:52 "DO PEOPLE CRY IN THIS MOVIE?" Sweet heart, I cried from the moment I stepped foot inside the theater to the moment I got home. I was red from sobbing when the movie ended. My sister and I walked around the Mall and every mirror I walked past showed my face red like a tomato. This trilogy is my heart and soul to this day. And I love it with every flaw.
I probably would have sobbed if my mom wasn't there. But let me tell you, I SOBBED when I saw How To Train Your Dragon 2 for the first time in theaters!

The line "There were dragons when I was a boy" along with the rest of that monologue are actually the first lines from the first book written in 2002. The first book started with those words as a flash forward to the ending of the series, and the last words of the last book were those words too. So it was only fitting for these words to be spoken by Hiccup in the final scene of the series.
I think it's because she's not bonded with anyone. Toothless and Stormfly have names because they're bonded to Hiccup and Astrid respectively, but the Light Fury isn't.
The first film came out when I was 9, watch the second one in theaters when i was 13, and the last one when I was 18... so yep my childhood progressed and reached its end with this franchise and I was a sobbing mess during that epilogue😭😭😭
9:37 It's a small detail, but I love how Tuffnut goes from lighthearted teasing to dead serious when he realizes what the dart is. Adds a little to his character beyond being comidic relief, he does genuinely care about the dragons and is angry a hunter got in.
A detail I loved in this movie and one that Ange actually noticed was that Toothless actually turned Hiccup invisible too. This is because (I'm assuming) that Hiccup's armor is probably made from the melted down scales that Toothless shed, or at least covered in it like he did with the tail fin.
18:07 I love this scene so much as this is referred back to the first movie, when Hiccup read the book of dragons, on the nightfury page it said *"The unholy offspring off lightning and death itself"* and they really did mean it. In the series aswell, in one episode (i dont remember the episode name), they mention in again, so i am glad they did put it in
I watched this movie at cinema, and EVERYONE cried at the dragons' leaving moment. Every person, including me and my mom, were crying and sobbing as hell, even appearantly stoic men. It was so adorable and touching!
the lightfury is a own species so if anyone is complaining there are many light furys in the hidden world and also since toothless kids are mixed colours its obvious that there are black females too
I don’t remember seeing other nightfuries, though. Toothless might actually be the last of the nightfury subspecies. At least the whole fury species won’t go extinct because lightfuries and nightlights still persist.
@@nerasomnia The Night Fury line ends with Toothless, as he's the last of his kind. The Light Fury family will continue, assuming there's male Light Furies, but now there's a family of mixed Night and Light Furies. As far as we know, once Toothless dies in the future, so will the Night Fury line.
Personally it makes all of no sense that every last one came out a mix of Black and White when majority of the hatchlings should have come out one or the other. If only one of them were black and white and another was a night fury and the other a light fury then it'd have made sense to me. Idk maybe i'm just dumb but I just personally don't think that's how that works
26:58 not sure if that was done on purpose, but it looks like Hiccup's "last" moment when he touches Toothless is exactly the same as his first touch but in reverse.
I cried for like 2 hrs after the second one, and cried a lot more than you did for this movie. I watched the tv shows, so I had more time with the characters. love these movies so much
Fun Fact: In this movie, they placed scales that their dragons shed on their Dragon Rider armor, That's why Hiccup and the gang were fireproof and why Hiccup also turned invisible when Toothless did the invisibility thing.
This was an amazing movie, easily my all time favorite. You're definitely not the only one who was crying at this movie, I was so emotional watching it myself and the past two movies as well, especially the second movie.
In the first movie, the dragon manual calls the night fury “the unholy offspring of lighting and death itself” it’s only when toothless teleports that we see anything involving lightning with him
This movie always brings me to tears! Its like the end of my childhood, so it is so painful to watch Toothless and Hiccup saying goodbye to each other.
The light fury looks smoother, not because she is a girl, but because she has reflectable scales, which help her turn invisible. The attention to detail is astounding.
22:14 what most people didn't get in this shot, is that Drago's alpha (from the 2nd movie) is actually right there at the bottom right. You can see it has a missing/broken tusk. I don't know if that is an easter egg or the exact same dragon cuz its size seems relatively smaller for an alpha.

I've watched this a good five times, not including all the reaction videos I've watched. All of those times, I have cried. I am even crying with you right now as I watch your reaction :"D
When I tell you me and my friends SOBBED (quietly but a lot) throughout the *entire movie* ...! Just Stoick's voice and the flashbacks were enough to get my tears flowing. Being on a beautiful journey like this for 9 years will do that to ya🥲
I bawled when I saw them as parents cause I started watching it when I was 14 and it ended when I was 23 so I kinda grew up along with hiccup, toothless and their friends.
The fun fact about this series is that in the books it talks about the dragons returning to the ocean where they came from, also they are too small to ride and they never used to kill them also Astrid just doesn’t exist in the books. I find it funny how different the movie/tv series and book series is.
28:02 it still makes me so emotional that they used the opening lines from the prologue of the first httyd book at the end of the last film. I'm pretty sure they were the first lines in the epilogue of the last book as well
I was born in 1986. I'm a dude. I've cryied in all 3. We were not supposed to at the time but I don't care. I've lost 16 dogs, about 20 cats, 7 horses, 5 birds and so on. I've accompagnied all of their life since birth and nurtered them when their moms & dads died. And carried until the very end when they died. So I'm emotional everytime I see something like this. This is so well done. I love all three movies, they were done with care, love, and understanding of the unbreakable bond it trancend beyond species & represent for one another. (And I miss all of them everyday)
Someone should tell her that there's an early 2 season series and another 6 season series of httyd on Netflix, as well as a bunch of separate specials. Really fleshes out the world of httyd.
Don't worry, baby girl, I'm a grown up man and I cried at the end, too. I'm not saying you're not a loser, necessarily, but if you are... a bunch of us are losers together. :D
The first movie came out when I was 5, so I barely remember seeing the first one for the first time. But the final movie came out when I was 13, and incredibly emotionally vulnerable. I started breakdown SOBBING
I sobbed my eyes out at this movie the first time I saw it. The music I will always love and “as long as he’s safe” the end kills me so much. My imagination runs SO WILD WHEN HEARINF YHE MUSICC!!!!!!
One of my best friends who I watched the film in theaters with cried like a little baby. Then again I can't blame the guy... Heck, listening to Ed Sheeran's Castle on the Hills gave me the chills.... Only the truest fans will understand the relation of HTTYD to Ed Sheeran's hit
So me and my dad loved this movie series. He died before we could watch the 3rd one together. I watched it a week after he died and when that song came on with together we part ways I was literally crying my eyes out and I cried myself to sleep that night. Angelina you're not alone.
19:02 it's actually really easy to teach your dog a command with a snap. For my dog, one snap means "go over there to where i point", two means "come here", and three quick snaps means "come here quickly". All you have to do at first is say the command as you snap and then just do the snap with out a verbal command from time to time. Good luck 😁
I love when fantasy is brought to reality. Fantasy is a way to escape reality, and I've never been a big fan of 'reality' films. BUT when fantasy elements are suggested to exist in reality I LOVE THAT. Rise of the Guardians does it for me too. 🥰
The ending was beautifully done, but definitely came as a surprise. It's cool to end the series w/ dragons fading into myths & legends like the real world 28:0229:1329:54, but I wasn't expecting it at all tbh. The films did such a great job of making them all one big family that it felt kinda wrong for them to get separated lol 23:0426:38. Ngl, I was also expecting the Deathgrippers to be responsible for Grimmel's death in the end. As soon as he said that he was controls them w/ their own venom, I expected a scene where Hiccup frees them from his mind control & they turn on Grimmel.
This series is a masterclass in how a trilogy should be. Every movie is different from the one before, but builds upon it. The series also has a definitive beginning, middle, and end. They have callbacks to earlier movies, without repeating storylines.
I forgot how much I loved these films man. Thanks for rekindling it for me. I absolutely cried watching the film, admittedly I didn't see it in the cinema but yeah naa, hit me in the feels real good. Love it and I PRAY the live action film they've got in the works is as good. It's going to be tough for them to match it!
Imma be real, I’ve watched every film, show and short in the franchise. As a fan of both HTTYD and animation in general, this movie and Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas have been the only animated ones to ever make me cry.

Thanks for watching this movie with me ANGELINA!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Some movies need 2 videos/watches from Ange:
One where Ange basically only look at the lighting, details, the sound, etc. (like this one).
One where Ange concentrates on the story.
Do not end this movies without watching HTTYD: Homecoming! The special is an absolute must! :D
I saw that movie in theaters and I cried like a little baby the second Toothless looks back at Hiccup silently asking him if it's okay for him to leave (17:19) and at the end (for obvious reasons lol)😭Such a lovely trilogy, one of my faves for sure!
They indeed have one of the best relationships in animated movies, it's so natural and believable, even more so if you watch the series
I am not crying, you are 😭😭 I love this trilogy ❤️
Oh yeah, I was full on SOBBING at the end of this film, especially during the end credits, since I grew up with this series and the ending was so bittersweet
The first movie offspring of lighting and death it self finally showing the lightning
I was wating for it🥰
Same
i cry every single time i watch this movie, as soon as the cliff scene shows up on my screen i start tearing up because i know what’s about to happen and i won’t stop crying. usually i have to stop the movie right before the goodbye scene because i will not be able to stop myself from crying, i grew up with this franchise i started it when i was about 10 and i’m now 18. i saw this movie in theaters and literally almost everyone in that theater was crying, including me and my family
YYYYYEEEEESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE BEEN WAITING!!!! YES THANK YOU!!!!
I've watched this a good five times, not including all the reaction videos I've watched. All of those times, I have cried.
I am even crying with you right now as I watch your reaction :"D
don"t worry Ange, I cried a lot on this movie, and still cry every time I watch it, my eyes got teary even by just watching your reaction
When I tell you me and my friends SOBBED (quietly but a lot) throughout the *entire movie* ...! Just Stoick's voice and the flashbacks were enough to get my tears flowing. Being on a beautiful journey like this for 9 years will do that to ya🥲
Bro 2019 was more than 2 years ago
I still haven't processed 2020 yet
im still trying to process 2023 and its currently march 2024 lol
13:04 Help, Toothless, HEEEELP 🤣🤣🤣
I bawled when I saw them as parents cause I started watching it when I was 14 and it ended when I was 23 so I kinda grew up along with hiccup, toothless and their friends.
The fun fact about this series is that in the books it talks about the dragons returning to the ocean where they came from, also they are too small to ride and they never used to kill them also Astrid just doesn’t exist in the books.
I find it funny how different the movie/tv series and book series is.
i love your rection videos 🥰
28:02 it still makes me so emotional that they used the opening lines from the prologue of the first httyd book at the end of the last film. I'm pretty sure they were the first lines in the epilogue of the last book as well
24:33 if you like the twins in the movies, you should see them in the TV shows
I was born in 1986.
I am SOOO happy you watched this series! It was my Childhood! And every time i see the movies again, i am going back to it!
While she was blabbing on she named dropped that they were on an island so he faked releasing her and had her trailed
The first movie came out when I was 5, so I barely remember seeing the first one for the first time. But the final movie came out when I was 13, and incredibly emotionally vulnerable. I started breakdown SOBBING
25:38 that is a genuine, gutteral sound of shock, and concern.
I hate how much people hate the light fury she’s so awesome and adorable
I sobbed my eyes out at this movie the first time I saw it. The music I will always love and “as long as he’s safe” the end kills me so much. My imagination runs SO WILD WHEN HEARINF YHE MUSICC!!!!!!
One of my best friends who I watched the film in theaters with cried like a little baby. Then again I can't blame the guy... Heck, listening to Ed Sheeran's Castle on the Hills gave me the chills....
Only the truest fans will understand the relation of HTTYD to Ed Sheeran's hit
Let me guess an amv?
@@sololeveling7390 helllllllll
No. Not at all.
So me and my dad loved this movie series. He died before we could watch the 3rd one together. I watched it a week after he died and when that song came on with together we part ways I was literally crying my eyes out and I cried myself to sleep that night. Angelina you're not alone.
You're not weird for crying, I cried again just watching this video. This movie was the perfect ending to the series.
I 10,000% cried at this movie! This series is so good, and I love your reactions!
Yes people cried when watching this. I’m literally 28. And bawling my eyes out currently. I loveeeeee this film ❤😅
I cry every time. This is probably my absolute favorite trilogy with one of the greatest musical scores.
Ange ...Your comments and reactions always make my day... Always 💙🤙
The ending was beautifully done, but definitely came as a surprise. It's cool to end the series w/ dragons fading into myths & legends like the real world 28:02 29:13 29:54, but I wasn't expecting it at all tbh.
The films did such a great job of making them all one big family that it felt kinda wrong for them to get separated lol 23:04 26:38.
Ahhh the only reactor I actually enjoy uploaded. Hell yes
5:06 Obey hypno-toad
I’m truly crying every part of this story. This my favorite trilogy ever ❤❤❤❤❤
Imma be real, I’ve watched every film, show and short in the franchise. As a fan of both HTTYD and animation in general, this movie and Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas have been the only animated ones to ever make me cry.
This movie is an amazing experience, specially after reading 12 books and listening to the line "there were dragons when i was a boy"
I SOBBED WATCHING THIS MOVIE LITERALLY ONE OF MY FAV TRILOGYS IM SO GLAD I GOT TO WATCH U REACT TO THESE THREE FILMS THANK U 🥹🥹
trust me, you are definitely not alone in getting teary during this movie!!! i actually teared up just watching this reaction! the ending is too perfect and this series is WAY too underrated
To be honest, I'm so attached to this frenchise that I cried during this video. Just those scenes made me tear up. Great video to a great movie... Thank you!
This is a must have 4k disc, outstanding visuals.
The visuals in this film were stunning. I especially love seeing powers/ magic in animated films like this tbh - they always look amazing in animation lol (i.e. Encanto, Frozen, The Incredibles, Onward, RoTG, Epic, RatLD, Wish Dragon, Hotel Transylvania, Tinker Bell, etc) 2:30 2:51 3:49 9:04 12:54 18:04 25:15
The whole thing with Snotlout and Valka was honestly kinda weirdchamp. I mean,Valka's 41 and Snotlout's 21...and Hiccups friend...
I love how the movie is absolutely gorgeous leading up to the hidden world, and then the hidden world just completely blows all of that away.
fun fact: David Tennant had a cameo in all 3 movie and does how to train your dragon audiobooks
I cried and wept so much. I grew up with this movie series and the shows for it since I was a child. A great ending.
i watched this when it came out in the theatre, I bawled
