Hey, thanks this is the perfect video, I just bought a used bn-20 for ~500usd from an auction site thats been sitting for a year. Will pick it up tomorrow and clean it with this method. Seems like the most logical way. Cheers!
I can not believe this, I had some clogged nozzles on the sign probably not even 10%, I did a couple of light cleans, which didn't make a lot of difference then did a heavy clean and had about 80% of the black nozzles blocked. This is obviously a manufacturing fault if you stay do not use the heavy clean… I will try your cleaning method and I'll let you know how it goes. New sub 🙂
Thanks for the posts, extremely helpful. I have lost my entire light cyan head on my VS640i and some small sections on the light black, light magenta and yellow. head soak or head replacement?
When you push the printhead over the capping station does it actually sit it the cleaning solution or is it right above it. I am asking because if you are able to move the printhead doesn't that mean it actually isn't touching the capping station?
Hi, I've some old heads that were blown from ink dropping into it that blew the trannies. had them replaced.. now I've mixed my blown heads with some good second hand heads. is there a way from testing the heads too see which are blown besides installing them and blowing transistors and fuses again. thx
Ouch, I literally was just going through my old dx7 heads and couldn't remember which ones were good and which ones were bad. Debating now if worth even messing with them as I myself definitely don't want to be causing any more issues. I would probably inspect connectors see if any traces of ink residue on blown heads. Its a gamble. Order some transistors and fuses and hope for the best I guess.
Nice. I tried this w regular cleaner. Got better for sure. But not there yet. Using alot of ink in the process. Does anyone trust / have long experience w any Non Roland Inks????
Thanks for the video, super helpful. I’m looking at buying a used one with this problem according to the listing. Do you know what I could look for when I go to buy it? Delaminating?
Both White and metallic are manufactured differently than the cmyk inks and a much different animal. Typically, they turn back into a solid and impossible once they clog up.
Would it be possible to contact you by e-mail?I need help to fix my printer BM 20 if you could give me some advice I would be very grateful. Kind regards Martin

Yeah I have another video on what typically happens to these dx7 heads. It's definitely a manufacturing issue.
Which cleaning Solution do you use ?
Is it still possible to to order the cleaning solution? Got a bn20 that was sitting for a year. Want to give it a try. Thanks man.
Yes, it says backorder but it is not

Hi friend, for BN20 if I'll need to change printhead, is it simple to put in new, or I need to program it somehow? What's the process?

Jetbest seems to be the most recommended aftermarket ink for Roland
Hello, do you connect the lines back when you do the medium cleans?
Yes, lines need connected
Very nice.
I have the same problem.
How many times did you soaked?
I do it often, depends on severity of head clog

On the print test shouldnt there be another yellow and magenta on the right side?
Depends on your ink configuration. The bn20 is white / metallic capable. This one had cleaner in it for one channel but some run dual magenta
The yellow was there but maybe hard to see
thank you for making this video
My pleasure
Will this work the same for my SG 540? My cyan won’t get unclogged
I just created a video for you, so sorry for the delay! th-cam.com/video/n6uM-Q-D0Hg/w-d-xo.html
Hello, can you tell me if this will work on bn20a and if so. What is the liquid solution i should use?
You need some roland eco sol cleaner. Exact same process
What about white and metallic ink clogs
Both White and metallic are manufactured differently than the cmyk inks and a much different animal. Typically, they turn back into a solid and impossible once they clog up.
